  1. Fair enough. Here are some of my "female fighter" figures collections. :)

Sorry about the blury pic, it is an old photo... will try to take some better photos once I have time.

    Hey macrossnake,

I've been wanting to get that Kaiyodo Cammy you have but in the light blue or pink variants. How is the quality on that figure? I think I read somewhere that the parts are glued poorly, especially where the legs meet the torso.

I wanted to add pics of the large collection of figures I have, but I'm in the process of packing everything up to put in storage until I can sort out the mess that I have gotten into with an ex-gf. I even got some Detolfs at that last Ikea sale for some of my character figures. I hope I can display them someday.

  2. Love any figure based off of Tsukasa Bullet's artwork. So far, Megahouse's releases are top-notch. The Shunya Yamashita figures are very nice, too, but that depends on who makes them. I don't care much for the bust figures though. I feel those are incomplete. Why bother making them like that?!

  3. ah'hahaha, I was just about to post that pic

    what's up with dood's face?

    hehehe

For some reason, Kaiyodo just can't get the black paint around the eyepiece right. Even the non-transforming Revoltech is this bad. Must be the same guy painting these, too. XD

  4. Decided to take the plunge and get the set with the extra parts from joeyyamato. Figured I'd use my eBay bucks before they expire anyway. I'll be unloading the CMs Blue Legioss Set I already have on eBay when I get this set.

Jenius, I also got 2 of the Pilotless Drones from him, too, a couple weeks ago. It's too bad it doesn't have the missile bays, but it's still very cool-looking. Plus, since these are the only toys of the Drones and limited, I'm figuring they might be highly collectible someday.

  5. Hey Graham,

any chance Yamato can be convinced to start packing the side covers and neckpiece with every Valk from now on? The parts are so small, they wouldn't even take up much room in the box, or they could be packaged in a small baggie if they don't want to re-design the trays. I don't mind a reasonable increase in the price to have these parts already included. These parts are a no-brainer. Excluding them is like excluding the intake covers.

  6. So they only plan on releasing the GBP Armor Parts with the VF-1J or repainted with other VF's? This time around, they released the Super Parts separately. They should do the same for those who want to outfit other VF's other than the VF-1J with the GBP Armor.

  7. My friend, vf2ss, and I have started to notice the flaking of the film on the canopies of some of ours, too. It was a great idea, but it seems like it was poorly executed. I don't think I've had my first 1/60 for more than a year. I'll have to end up rubbing the film off on all of them eventually.

  8. Honestly, I was very gentle.

The left leg is fine, I can pull it back and forth and it holds.

When I rotate that section of the leg I am very careful and do it one click at a time and hold both sections at the same time.

It just seemed really brittle..... during the motion it just kind of fell off and did not take any kind of force to make it fall off.

If you look at the break it is raised a bit almost like there could have been an air bubble.

All of my 1/60 VF-1's are fine(6) and have held up greatly, I pose the legs all the time on those.

I found the peg and attempted to super glue it back, but hopefully I can find a replacement for it.

Yeah, that really sucks, man. The 1/48's are really sturdy AFAIK. I did receive a broken one from a seller on eBay before, and he took it back and gave me a refund. I own quite a few and have never broken anything on one. Now, the new 1/60 is a different story. The shoulder hinges will break in the box without being touched on the ones with the stupid knurled pins!

  9. Ok, I hope Graham is able to convince Yamato to come up with a reasonable solution for providing replacement shoulders for non-Japanese collectors, because this is f'in ridiculous! Besides the VF-1A Hikaru I posted a pic of a few posts back (posted again here), I have a VF-1S Roy that has a noticeably cracked right shoulder and a hairline crack on the left shoulder, and I never even transformed it! I also have a VF-1J Hikaru with a hairline crack on the left shoulder, only transformed once before!

Now, this is where I'm really pissed!!! I picked up a couple of brand new VF-1A Hikarus with the Super/Strike Parts for a good deal awhile back. These have been sitting in their boxes ever since. Today, I opened them for the first time! One has a cracked shoulder, and the other has both shoulders cracked!!! Just look at the pictures. Unbelievable!

The VF-1J CF, VF-1A TV Kakizaki, and my extra VF-1D are fine as the pins look like they are smooth. I have a VF-1S Hikaru that appears fine for now, but I'll have to remove the pins and smooth down the knurling just to be sure.

Well, I'm done with Yamato for the foreseeable future unless they can rectify this problem.

  10. Here is a picture of my VF-1A Hikaru with a cracked right shoulder hinge after only a couple transformations. I also checked out my out-of-box VF-1D, and that one is fine with the smooth pins. I still have a few more to check that I hope to get to today, but I have to pull them out of their boxes.

  11. I think it looks fine. Although Mikimoto has said that MTF is the first manga he's done completely on the computer, so maybe that's part of it.

What bugs me about it is that he changed a fair number of pages for the book...just look at Hikaru buzzing the airfield in the magazine version vs. the book version...

I've been thinking about picking up the book. What do you mean by "changed"? Are there pages missing?

  12. I really don't like how light the newer, cheaper-made flexi-stands are. The lack of extra weight on the hollow base makes putting larger Valks on them unstable. A friend bought the set of 3, and after handling them, I don't like them. I prefer the older versions. I wish I could acquire more. It's too bad LAFtoys decided not to sell the older versions anymore. It totally sucks that Yamato doesn't include a stand with every Valk. Add insult to injury, they sell the VF-22S Gamlin for the same price as the YF-21 WITH A STAND! I wonder why they discontinued including stands? Are they even producing new shipments of their over-priced large stands considering they pack every new Valk with the adapters?

  13. I hear you on that. I've totally passed on anything from the movie. I'm just trying to fill the gaps in my 25th Anniv. collection. I don't intend to buy anything new until Habro decides to go back to that line, if ever. I'm just glad they at least made most of the most popular figures. I still want to see MORE vehicles reissued though.

  14. weathering looks so bad. Why is it always just blurry, airbrushed grey?

weathering has scrapes, bulletholes, dents. And it's not just grey. They need to forget making those exclusives and let people do it themselves.

sorry to rain on the thread.....

Nope, I agree. Totally valid point. They need to make these "combat-weathered and damaged" to make them worth purchasing.
