  1. Being a lightgun and Final Fantasy fanatic, I hold my PS2 close to my heart as it's obviously got a load of those games that I just mentioned exclusive to the system, not to mention other little treasures like ICO (simply sublime) .hack//Infection Series (c'mon all you .hack fans come outta the closet NOW), AM-2 Macross (Nuff said') and Gungrave (Old-Skool blasting that can't be beat) . Currently the XBOX is my favourite system because of games like Steel Battallion. PGR2 (Which STILL looks better than GT4's shoddy lower-res visuals), Halo (Good single player, awesome multi-player) and DOA 3/Unlimited. Not to mention upcoming corkers like Halo 2(Groan ), Star Wars: Republic Commando, BC, Fable and Sudeki (A good pair of RPG's there for those who think that the only half-decent XBOX RPG that there'll ever be is KOTOR) On a side note of sorts, with Rockstar warming up to the XBOX, I don't mind waiting for GTA: San Andreas to appear on the XBOX all enhanced and stuff, just see the GTA: Twin Pack and Manhunt conversions to see that the best comes to he who waits . Then you've got a whole load of AAA titles which are exclusive to Nintendo's attractive little beast like Metroid Prime (Utterly amazing), F-Zero GX (the fastest and most insane racer on the market) and Zelda: The Wind Waker (Truly a playable cartoon in motion) I guess what my point is, is that you should buy all three since they all have their own selection of games unique to that system. I've always bought a system not for it's specs but instead for the games available on it, but I guess everybody tastes are different, I just like the XBOX the best (at the moment) because it has all the games i'm looking forward to on it. Just my two cents, hope I didn't offend any rabid fanboys in the process!
  2. I think we all know that Kelly Hu could pull off a good 'Major' kusanagi...
  3. Ahhh, and he looked across the land and saw that all was good
  4. 6 discs sounds fair enough. But this IS manga we're talking about so....
  5. Hate to say it guys, but Manga UK confirmed two things last night. Firstly that they would be handling ALL of the authoring, production and distribution (ex.asia) of the GITS: SAC DVD's and that secondly lucky UK anime fans (such as myself) will see the first volume released one day before their U.S counterparts. It would appear the Bandai's part in this is to be in charge of the series' broadcasting across T.V networks such as Adult Swim etc.... If I wasn't worried to begin with, I am now.
  6. Whats going on?! How was this allowed to happen? How did Manga get its hands on such a big property as Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex?!? Manga Entertainment and Bandai to jointly Distribute GitS: SAC in the West (AnimeOnDVD) I can only hope Bandai keep Mangle in check with some good Quality Control. I'm praying to every god out there that if Manga get ONE release right let it be this, PLEASE let it be this!
  7. I'd say go for it, as the subs ruin what was a pretty darn good show (especially if you're into Sonic) to begin with.
  8. From what I can tell Hikuro, all of the HK Sonic X sets have a nasty TV-Rip video transfer and bad HK Engrish subtitles. Stay well away if I were you. However should you not heed my honest warning here is a link to a site where a review has been posted on one of the sets: Sonic X Vol.1 Review at Import-Anime
  9. Eeek! Just ordered the BGC Megaseries set from DVDBoxoffice.com, looks like i'm in for a funky pink coloured boxset..... <_
  10. Just saw the trailer............... I must say i'm very impressed by this. Love the slick animation and the character designs didn't grate on me as I expected them to. If the trailer is anything to go by the action sequences should be absolutely awesome and that part where Deunan dives off the building looks breathtaking. Love that music too. I just hope there's a decent plot and a bit of characterisation in amongst all that style! I'm sure it'll be fine, i have (blind) faith! 2004 is a good year to be a Shirow fan!
  11. Sorry if this is trodden ground mods but i'm curious, has anybody here seen the ultra-cool trailer for the new Final Fantasy movie that is supposedly a direct sequel to the FFVII video game? Here's a link for anybody who has yet to see it (You need Bittorent to get it) http://a.scarywater.net/hawks/ I'm just really curious about it thats all because the guy that Cloud is dueling with looks like Sephiroth but appears to have shorter hair and a different blade. Then toward the end of the trailer, you see that same guy hold the hand of a person in a wheelchair who you never see the face of. My question is, was the guy that Cloud was fighting Sephiroth or not, and who do you guys think the dude in the wheelchair is? I mean personally, I think the guy in the wheelchair IS sephiroth and the guy that Cloud was fighting was one of those Jenova cloned freaks that he encountered during FFVII. Anyone else got any fuel to add to the fire?
  12. Do you have a link for the trailer Briareos?
  13. Not at all. Just freely admitting my own mistakes and reinserting my tolerance of a-holes like you.
  14. I dunno if any of you guys caught the ANN article sometime ago about the full length GitS2 trailer (the one that gets packaged with the R2 Nausicaa DVD), but to get it you have to navigate through I.G's flash and kanji heavy site to try and find it! [EDIT] I only found a streaming link on the official site and not much else. I haven't actually got to see it yet but I was wondering if any Shirow fiends here managed to see it?
  15. Defo, it's like total closure. Can't wait to see it all pan out on screen!
  16. Thanks to everybody who chimed in with answers about the multiple endings, so thanks again for clearing that up for me. And to my dear friend red_xaiver... Ah so I misread it, BIG DEAL. Right back at ya friend. Now you can stop being a dick. Have a nice day
  17. *****************SPOILERS********************* *****************SPOLIERS********************* Apparently Return Of The King will have twevle 'endings' because Director Peter Jackson couldn't decide on which ending he wanted in the movie, so he just put all twelve in. Basically what this means is, when you think you've seen the conclusion of the movie, you have to sit and wait beacuse there are something like eleven other endings to watch. What a stupid, stupid way to end one of the best film trilogies ever made. What a frickin' waste. Here's the link: Yahoo! Article on LOTR ROTK's 12 Endings
  18. Make that six for an unrivalled display of Zentradi brutality!
  19. It's kinda strange you guys should mention Megazone 23. The reason being ADV just updated their UK site and Megazone 23 is listed as arriving next year! So who knows why they took it off the U.S site.
  20. Hey aegis m8, i'm on the same con as you and getting 15 down 13 up. Just a case of waiting I think
  21. Excellent, can't friggin' wait! Looking forward to Wolf's Rain and Yukikaze too
  22. Thats true, but their sub quality does vary between releases which is why I think I will wait for a review before I take the plunge.
  23. Thanks for the info, but sorry for sounding like a dumba$$ in advance but just what is the side story series? Is it just literally a side story to the U.C. 0079 conflict? And also what does the -4 and -5 pertain to?
