The othe rmodel is an xb-70 valkyre bomber(real plane). Hikaru was supposed to have been test flighting the VF-X-4 int the original seires but that was in some of the episodes that got cut so the model is all that made it onto the the screen unti flashback.

another problem with the early model is it seemed to transition poorly form super to sub sonic. if you were not careful yuo would end up in a really bad spin, and couldn't recover.

the only real complaint I have about the model that was relesed (and maybe this has been fixed since) is that at full thottle the autopilot can't maintain altitude (unless you want that altitude to be 200k ft!!!!!) the rest seems to be pretty good, remeber the yf-19 killed a whole bunch o' people before Isamu got it.

I was going through some backup disks looking for stuff and ran across my original Valk!!! so here it s next to my FINAL Valk. I leave it as an insperation to those of you who are starting off and thinking this is damn hard, well obviously I wasn't/(maybe still not) all that good ether.

Ok here we are with a posed batroid, with all the missing parts. The buildings were missing their texture files so they rendered black, but it gives the idea I was going for. Woz 250 Mhz?!! Wow what prog were you using again?

I guess I should have winked, . It is set up to transform but needs some minor proportion changes to look right. Low polys is a must for me (I only have a 900 Mhz machine!!!) Although the valk in the fore ground is more of a medium poly valk(just under 16.5 k polys including rigging and background polys), the valks in the background are lower detailed at about 8 k polys.

I used to do that, it hurts a lot! And those of you using cad programs I feal your pain. My very first model was made in auto cad r-12 three months and it still looked like crap! Since were showing off again.....

Just for the record guys the low vis skull valks do not have stripes on the nose wing of legs. just keepin it real, BTW Rodavan I have a Millia tv skin do a max and lets put them together

What type of material are you using Rodavan? I think it is way too shiny (that cannon fodder looks like a penny) I use a blinn it is still kinda shinny but not at the same time. Adding dirt to a specular map also seems to work real nice. I would be willing to give you any help I can because you defiantly have the best sculpt out of any of us!

I have to say I LOVE the cat. That said it IS time to say good bye. You can't upgrade, sorry. The airframes are dying. Most of the A's (David H. correct me if I am wrong)still flying are limited to an ungodly low G load for a fighter. Why? The wing boxes are coming apart. The wing box IS the F-14. People this is not a B-52 that just flies at .75 mach and never pulls more then 1.5 g and will ive forever. This is a high performance fighter and it will die. The super cat with new built airframes was the only answer to keeping A cat in service. While I don't think the F/A-18 E/F is a worthy replacement even for the older hornets they are completly new airframes. Further more they are still smaller than a cat (kinda important on a carrier) needs less maintenance is a cheaper fighter. As a tax payer in the good ol' US of A I like a cheaper can do anything fighter ok, over a beloved and will be missed but has no real mission anymore ace of the skies.
