  1. So here is soemthing i learened today. i was watching god Eater and they went after a monster called a Vajra. i thought that was an odd coincidence so I went and looked up the word. Turns out it's a real thing!

    From Wiki:

Vajra is a Sanskrit word meaning both thunderbolt and diamond.[1] Additionally, it is a weapon which is used as a ritual object to symbolize both the properties of a diamond (indestructibility) and a thunderbolt (irresistible force).

It is also known as Bajra/बज्र (Nepali), vajram (Tamil), bojro (Bengali), bajra (Malay), dorje (Tibetan),[1][2][3]dorji (Dzongkha), wajra (Indonesian), jīngāng, 金刚 (Chinese), geumgangjeo (Korean), kongōsho (Japanese) and Очир ochir / Базар Bazar (Mongolian).

The vajra is essentially a type of club with a ribbed spherical head. The ribs may meet in a ball-shaped top, or they may be separate and end in sharp points with which to stab. The vajra is used symbolically by the dharmatraditions of Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism, often to represent firmness of spirit and spiritual power.[4] The use of the vajra as a symbolic and ritual tool spread from India along with Indian religion and culture to other parts of Asia.

    So there you go!

  2. i'm sure this info is out there, but maybe i have just never understood it:

What are the extendy antenna devices on the F-29 SP Wingtips? I THINK I remmeber them being some sort of fold wave amplifier that would let people hear Ranks song easier or something.... but that seems oddly specific.

i may have just made this up in my head, but i thought they wrre fold booster units that alllowed the fighter to traverse faults the way the Vajra do.

  3. if you want to confuse it even more, then Alto (Who is a lieutenant of some kind after SMS training) ends up as a unit commander simply by getting left behind while the Quarter leaves, and then flips back to SMS in the last episode. Since SMS is a private military, he basically must have been officially signed up to NUNS and just maintained his unofficial rank, and then on top of that been promoted.

I like the discussion, and i don't see anything wrong with debating minutia. Isn't that the point of a forum?

  4. just went through my very first attempt at transforming the 171 from battroid back to fighter.. geez what a total PITA!!! so fiddly and unnecessarily complicated! Big thanks to Jenius video on Anymoon.com which helped me out a great deal!

but hey what a total head f#$% of a job to get it all done and in a presentable state! The shoulder covers still don't quite want to line up exactly flush with the upper part of the body but after wasting 2 hours of my life which I won't ever get back I am happy I the way it is now..

Getting both the upper shoulder articulation joints lined up correctly so the arms sit properly on the upper fuselage was quite tricky too!

I tell ya this friggin thing nearly ended up against the wall a few times!

There's a reason I sold it to ya...

  5. Yup. She's just a supporting one. Inviting Leon to go to the other shops for more upgrades. And she does help him in one big battle using the white Lucifer. ;)

    Thanks mate :)

Likely.. the only pilot figure to actually be changed visually from male to female was Nora, if I recall correctly.

I never had trouble putting the legless Ranka in a VF-25 though, the cockpit is small enough that her arms hold her in decently. She rattles around if you swoosh it too much, but she'll generally land upright in the seat.

Also, given that it happened in the series at least once, I think the one included with Ozma's valk was supposed to be Cathy.

You know it never occured to me that could be Cathy, but that makes sense doesn't it? Did she just wear the grey flightsuit like Ranka?
  6. So I got mine in nd... man she's pretty! i havent had a chance to transform it yet, but just every colour on this thing is gorgeous. It's a great looking toy!

So the pilots name is Ron Balter or somesuch yes? He's the main anti-hero guy? The Guld to Leon's Isamu?

  7. So let me ask you this kids: The Percival is just a name right? I mean this I a 29B, so the Avionics are different, but it's more or less just a typical Durandel? Something in another thread made me wonder, so I wasn't sure. Percival was one of Authurs Knights, and I thought the name was being used as an opposing one for Siegfried, Leon's callsign from Macross 30. Percival was the game's antagonists plane right?

  8. I'd get Shin's 0A if i could afford it, i really would. I love the Zeros, and this is the hero characters plane! But at close to $400, I just can't do it. I'll get the 0S no matter what, and be happy. I think it looks wicked as hell!

But if this is the end for Arcadia i won't be amazingly sad, because the price is getting silly. I just got the Bandai VF-18Adv a few weeks back. It cost $370 or soemthing. And i just paid for the 29 Percival which was $200 ish. That means i could almost buy 2 fighters for the cost of 1 Arcadia. And those are planes i have already anyway!

Sadly I'm there. I'm riced out, and it bums me out but.... that's the ball game.
