If you liked TLJ or hated it, that's fine. However, I bolded the above part because Star Wars fanboys love to take Hammill out of context to "prove" their point or whatever. Hammill didn't agree with the direction of his character at first, but once he saw the entire arc that was written for Luke, he said it was interesting and he did like it. Anyway that's all I have to say on the matter. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan or anything so I have no stake in this and this isn't a Star Wars movie thread anyway. -

I wanted to work on something besides a VF-1, but then I looked at all my old TV white Yamatos and thought "man I need to finish them before they all go yellow like Hikaru" and so this is the beginning my of efforts to fix up all my TV VF-1s before they yellow. One down and like 8 more to go!

Looks great. Definitely in for Hikaru and Roy if that comes out. Not sure I want to re-collect all the variants again in 1/48 or if Bandai will bother releasing anything beyond the main hero units.

Just arrived! Unlike USPS, DHL actually knocks on the door before declaring that no one was home. Still not sold on the Christmas color scheme, but it's not terrible either.

Yeah I tried to order a second 31J a couple of weeks after release and they canceled it. When they say "limit 1" they mean it!

If you placed an order and got a confirmation email before it went into sold out status, then you're fine. However, if you bought one previously and it's a "limit 1 per customer" item then HLJ will cancel your order.

Saying that Bandai is bigger than Arcadia is an understatement. Yes they can produce more toys at lower cost, and as such can offer lower prices overall. I expect the 1/48 VF-1 to be around the DX 31 to YF-19 price range. Though I wonder why some people are eager to see Bandai "hammer the nail in the coffin" of Arcadia. As I stated once before: what kind of fool wants less competition and choice in the marketplace? Did we suddenly become pro-multinational behemoths that grind any competition under their heels? Yeah Arcadia prices are high and I can understand if that's too much for some people. And you can show your disapproval by not buying their products. But wanting them gone so that Bandai is the sole provider of Macross toys? We had that for long time and we got nothing but garbage from Bandai. Also, I doubt Bandai would ever waste their time making a 1/60 VF-0 or Sv-51. They might, but they have so many other things they can produce that make more money, so why would they bother? Even Bandai only has so much factory capacity.

Since this is Delta squadron, shouldn't he have a triangle emblem instead? (That was meant as a joke, before people start giving serious replies.) Mine should arrive tomorrow. Can't wait to get it in hand. Still not a fan of the Christmas colors, but I do like S-type units.

Looks good. Overall better proportioned than the Yamato. Chest plate looks a bit large, but it could just be the angle the pic was taken in. Still has what looks like the back of the forward fuselage jutting up from underneath the chest plate like the Yamato "priest collar" (though this is something that never bothered me). No "NO STEP" markings visible on the underside of the wings, so that's a good sign. Prefer this heat shield proportion over the elongated abdominal look on the HMR heat shield. Will get this and probably the Focker 1S if it's released.

TWE Chuck, if nothing else. Delta may be the worst Macross series IMO, but I still want to complete the squadron. It's perverse, I know.

I hope it at least surpasses the old 1/48 Yamato toys, since I sold all mine off ages ago because those were inferior to the newer 1/60s.

Hayate's units aside, the 31F and 31C have remained fairly constant in the 20k-22k range on Mandarake, so I wouldn't expect a big discount from them if you're planning on stalking their website for a 31S. If you live in Japan and can go to a store in person, that's a different story.
