Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.
sqidd replied to Gakken85's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It is now time for me to un-box mine. Thanks for the push! -
I can't not admit that in Fighter the Yamato may still hold the advantage aesthetically. No doubt that the handling of the Bandai is tops though.
-
Were you able to get the Bandai to lock into it's stand adapter? Mine is just sorta hanging out on the adapter. It's not the most secure thing in the world. I'm wondering if I'm doing it wrong.
-
So that's what those were for. Thank you.

The Mandalorian - Star Wars webseries from Jon Favreau
sqidd replied to SMS007's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I liked it. I wasn't blown away. But I liked it. A lot more than most garbage coming out there days. And better than the prequels and at the sequel. But, it got a few extra points on the "me meter" when they had the nuts to kill everyone at the end. That sort of risk taking in Hollywood is almost entirely gone. It was good to see.- 1438 replies

I've said a few time in the SV-51 thread that the leg issue is the kind of thing that can tank a small business like that. They're very fragile. I hope the PF VF-0D is not the last thing we see out of them.

That actually looks really good. The blue in the supers really works on Max.

Very close. It's that cab but with the LED lights. Here is a link: https://www.displays2go.com/P-33985/LED-Trophy-Cabinet-Locking-Door

What is so disappointing about this is that since the beginning of time stories that resonate with people have essentially been the same thing with variations. The "hero's tale" for example. So as humans we actually like the same story thread. Overcome adversity, redemption, save the day, etc. Yet, the entertainment industry as a whole somehow can't even do that right. I agree, good storytelling is harder to find. Also kind of funny you ask when is the last time you saw a Optimus Prime. That show was created (I'm talking about the 80's cartoon) as an advertising tool to sell toys. Somehow that stands out as good storytelling in this day and age. That doesn't say much for modern show creators at all. They can't even equal advertising. And yeah, Evangalion. No way something like that gets financed in this day and age. Or the Matrix for that matter (not comparing the two). The entertainment industry is incredibly risk adverse now despite making record profits.

Yeah buddy! That was a grail item for me. I was on the lookout for MONTHS for that guy. It popped up on Jungle for very reasonable money and I snapped it up. It really is a great looking toy. A buddy of mine who is an artist was in town last week and the second he walked into my office he made a bee line for the Gorg. He knows nothing about toys, anime, etc. He just knew that as a piece of "art" it really did it for him. Jungle has a sealed one for 55K Yen. Which for what it is isn't unfair. https://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/products/detail/322354

That's what I was thinking. I did a little preliminary math and it looks like the way the sections stack up it will fit in there without much "slop". I've been considering doing two of the bottom shelves for HMR's.
-
I've been himmin and hawwin on getting some. I'm just not sure if I would get any actual use out of it. My displays don't "meld" very well with it. I have been considering getting one to "line" the bottom shelf of one of my cases that has HMR's in it to see how it turns out though.

What missiles are you referring too? Are they like the ones that come with the C (see pic)? You can buy those separately? Is there an adapter available where you can mount the missiles and then the "shields" (see pic of F's arms, they;'re mounted) on top of them. I didn't see anything in the C's VF kit or the Super parts that would allow for piggy backing them.

Your toys in pictures look better than mine in real life!

A shot for every time you get cart jacked? We'd all be dead!

When did you PO your Kampfer?

Or finding a new one. Both time consuming and not fun.
-
I got notifications to pay for those two. I'm assuming that means that they're getting ready to ship. I've never had a Show Z PO before. IDK.

I think they're joking. I can't find a listing for the PO.
-
Wait, what? The PO was last night? How did I not know anything about it? I can't find anything on NY or AmiAmi. Are you guys doing April Fools on Jan 2nd?

The Quiet Place Part II More Quieter
-
I finally transformed the F and un-boxed the C tonight. I love the 31's design/look. After transforming the F I have more appreciation for the toy as a piece of engineering. It feels like "quality". The C is just flat out pretty. It took me forever to get it out of the box. It was worth the wait.
