Really digging the toy. I had an order that left China 3.5 weeks ago and arrive at my home in the states a few days back. So I'm not to worried about shipping for now from ShowZ

ShowZ just put out a statement packages over 2kg aren't getting shipped out and are currently just chilling at the airport. And unfortunately, the 1/72 Kampfer is 3.5kg,........so yeah I'm not sure I will see Kampfer anytime soon or if at all.

I ordered one as well. I have no idea at this point and who knows when and if they can ship at all. I ordered a Kamper that's been sitting in 'Waiting to ship' for over a week now.

My copy of Kampfer has been waiting in the Shanghai shipping exchange since the 18th of March. Today I finally saw some movement again, as it finally made it to the Shanghai airport.

  3. I'll be on the lookout for US links. These days even the US retailers pre-orders go fast for popular MBs so keep your eyes peeled on this thread and retail sites. Bandai has been limiting stock even to US retailers lately to prevent overstock. Unit 02 is still available for slightly marked up prices, mostly from Bandai responding to the overwhelming amount of scalping for the EVA units.

Lets get FREEDOMs for everyone who wants one.

I'm going to try to preorder one. But Y26400? Yeesh. :fool:

Not sure if this byline tells us a hidden message:

"From Strike to Freedom, and unto the Strike Freedom."

Strike Freedom Concept 2 perhaps? I would probably guess the cost for that is north of Y30000.

Strike Freedom is still pretty good and doesn't need to be redone. I still wish the designer made the waists a little thicker and the feet a little bigger.

So, as an alternative, what if you drill out the screwcover, just accept that the cover is a lost cause, and make a new one after fixing the leg?

Personally, I would try and cut the cover in half by drilling small holes down the slot in the center, then pry it out.  Then if the halves are still good, sand away what remains of the recessed slot, and glue them together around a thin slice of plastic to rebuild the cover.  The slot won't be as obvious if it's a slightly different shade of plastic.

I was able to take the screwcover off via a super thin hobby tool. Only a tiny corner was glued in. Now, to fix the rest of the thigh....

That cover is most likely super glued on, so there won't be any way to open it without breaking it. Bandai loves their super glue! Parts that I could open on the 1J can no longer be easily opened (or at all) on the 1A and 1S thanks to Bandai just going hog wild with the glue.

Bandai wants to deny you the color scheme you desire. Like a certain paint scheme? Bandai won't release it. Think you'll just make your own custom? Bandai will make it damn near impossible to do any disassembly whatsoever. :p

Ughhhh if I can't get the screwcover off, in order to screw in a loose screw holding the thigh to the intake, I might just glue the damn hip. Sigh oh Bandai.

  7. So I opened up my VF-1S and things were going well until I noticed the left leg jiggled a lot. And after doing a little disassembly I see that Bandai did not screw the hip joint in tight enough and it never quite met the other side of the joint. But in order to screw it back together I need access to the thigh via a screw, but this damn screwhole cover is not budging. Any thoughts on how to remove this screw hole cover? If only Bandai made disassembly easy.

  8. After reading some reviews both here and TFW2005 it seems Arcadia did tighten up their Protogarland release. So I bought it and I'm very impressed with it. So far no paint chipping on the knees or chest. There will be a little chipping on some of the pegs because they are painted. Thank goodness they tightened up the shoulder joints over the first garland. The bike mode also holds together better than the first garland. On the downside, Shogo's eyes are not painted and there is a rather apparent nub mark on top of the forehead of the protogarland. I also wish the crotch piece locked into place instead of just floating over the wheel. Overall, an incredible display piece that you would transform every once in a while.
