Are the improvements, really improvement or just tightening of joints? Let's see.

Hopefully, Bandai really will add some stiff ratchet joints instead of just a tighter friction joints. To mention it in the magazine I'm thinking it will probably be a new joint design over the crap they had before.

  2. Sweet to read about those improvements. Ratchets on the hips and ankles are must especially with the super packs on. A matte finish would be sweet too. It would be cool if Bandai did a little video to highlight the improvements. While they're it, I could totally go for a few more tabs and slots to lock in the chest + backplate like the VF-31 does.

Can you use a standard Metal Build stand on the Jiang Gao Sazabi? Does it even have a port for stands? I realize that it’s a copy of the Infinite Dimension Sazabi which is based on the official Ver. Ka from Bandai but I just want to make sure it fits and a stand could actually support its weight considering how big it is.

Sadly I do not see any port or removeable panel to insert it into a common MB stand. He's not as heavy as you would think but so far I'm not sure what stand would be perfect for this guy.

  4. Alright here comes 3P metal build figure number #2 the metal myth Sinanju! This is a really interesting piece. Initially, I thought this was just a copy of the master grade, but with metal parts and some LEDs. I'm pleasantly surprised to see most of the outer armor has been resculpted with new details! The 3P one is also taller than the MG. This is also the 2nd batch that has much less ghetto packaging and the hands are assembled for you. Ironically, the battle-damaged head-fin got bent but I was able to bend it back. Some joints are a little overly tight and I would recommend moving them at the base of the joint to prevent snapping the joint off. Paint is pretty damn good except the fuel tanks could have used another coat of white paint. A few parts also came unglued and needed to be glued back on. I love the stand, the light-up zeon base makes for a great night light. The overall diecast placement is also done well and it makes him feel pretty well balanced. The battle damaged head is a neat inclusion.

Some interesting changes from the MG would be that they added a more useful mid-torso joint. However, they took out the opening cockpit and the cool wing / thruster expansion. The 3P Sinanju also put the ankle tilt joint too high up the ankle and it greatly limits the range of motion which is disappointing. The fuel tanks are also static and no longer on ball joints. It's also interesting they made the front skirts smaller and the feet bigger. It's also weird the top of the head comes off and I'm really not sure why. At first I thought the batteries went in there, but nope those goes in the back.

For the most part, I'm happy with this piece and it makes for an amazing display piece. I've always wanted a candy red metallic version of the Sinanju, but only model kits were available until now.

  5. After 55 days in the post from Shows Poison Toys Kampfer finally made it to me in one piece. The wait has been worth it. This is a beast of a figure. The heft, the paint, the accessories, the gimmicks and he's HUGE all for a very reasonable $210 shipped ($250 now). My only complaint is that I wish he came with some simple instructions. Poison Toys has done it again! I really hope they stay alive and papa Bandai doesn't try to stop them. There's a bunch beam sabers he comes with, I just didn't take pictures of it. Seeing all of the zeon love recently from Bandai and 3Ps has warmed my heart.

I'm using Energizer 377/376 from Amazon. You can find this size at any drugstore. It's easier to install the battery by taking out the electronics part of the head. It's not glued or tabbed in or anything. Just sitting in there fitted to the head but loose. I found that out the hard way when I installed the batteries backwards and tried to fish them out with tweezers.. I couldn't the batteries out at all.. until the entire electronics assembly came out.

I had some LR626 which are supposed to be equivalent to 377/376 but they seemed to big. So I stuck some slightly smaller AG0 batteries and they worked liked charm!

It's B.E.A-utifull and probably one of the best metal builds out there. The quality of joints, diecast content, and gimmicks exceed Bandai's official offerings. Poison Toys really knows how to copy the processes given to them, improve upon it, and apply it to something completely new and unreleased officially by other companies. Fantastic work and craftsmanship here. I wouldn't doubt it if the team from Poison Toys are made up of manufacturing engineers for factories that do make the official line of metal build toys for Bandai. It matches or exceeds the quality from Bandai and far exceeds the quality from Metal Club which do feel a bit like knock offs.

Do you know what type of battery the Kampfer's mono-eye takes?

Good to hear! I won't have time to open it up until Thursday, but man I'm pumped. I was blown away by their strike gundam, so I'm ready for their take on zeon suits.

I received mine last month with two broken parts that can't be fixed so Show Z Store has sent one replacement part so far and will be sending another soon. Mine also has multiple armor pieces that have no glue or poorly applied glue holding them in place so I've been having to go thru and fix parts that fall off. Also one of the right forearm part that's supposed to open up to expose one of the beam sabers appears to be mistakenly glued closed, but given how the beam sabers don't really fit well in these it's no big loss. I've also had to glue the hands together, and one of the thumbs doesn't seem to fix the hand it's supposed to go with. While the out of box experience is bad, once it's together it feels and looks great, and the paint finish is excellent. I just wish they had spent some effort on the packaging and QA

Sounds like your copy was definitely rushed out the gates.  I plan on ordering one from the 2nd batch and I'll report my findings when it comes in.

This just released on Netflix a few days ago. I really enjoyed this movie, the artwork and animation are topnotch... it's great to see another release from Kyoto Animation. Eventually a second movie is to be released, so I'm looking forward to that as well.

I'm glad in this movie, kyo- ani ditched that weird black smokey filter they placed over the tv series visuals. Here, all of the colors are bright and detail of each character shines through. Good stuff.

  11. Here's small article that describes the Metal club raid: https://ggmara.blogspot.com/2020/04/3600.html

Man, 5600 completed units were seized. It sucks most of these will probably be destroyed. Who knows whoever is in charge of destroying them might flip them for cheap.

On the bright side, that 3P Sinanju's 2nd batch made it out and actually put it in actual packaging this time. Hopefully, they worked out some of the build kinks too.

I have offered to pay the extra shipping on my AGX-04 GP-04 Gerbera Tetra and Motor Nuclear MN-Q01 1/72 Scale Yellow Dragon, its worth it...they wont be around for a while as China is so desperate for Western business. Which is kinda funny considering all the anti western sentiment. So BE polite with your VENDORS...

How much was the extra shipping on the Gerbera Tetra?

It seems Metal Club/Metal Gear got arrested.

Damn. While I only ever bought a 00 raiser from metal club, I appreciated them being around for folks who missed out on the official release and not wanting to pay astronomical secondary market prices. Bandai being quite aggressive as of late, first it was the ceast and desist to mo show, then it was the stop of  KO MG kits, then the metal build digimon company, now metal club is under fire.

Is JiangGao the same as metal club or are they a different group?

Really? My Kampfer has been sitting at the Shanghai airport since April 6 with no movement at all. I guess your Sazabi is less than 2kg?

I'm hesitant to order anything because losing a package is huge risk now.

My copy of Kampfer is probably sitting next to yours in the Shanghai airport. Hopefully it makes its way out in the next month.......

Really digging the toy. I had an order that left China 3.5 weeks ago and arrive at my home in the states a few days back. So I'm not to worried about shipping for now from ShowZ

ShowZ just put out a statement packages over 2kg aren't getting shipped out and are currently just chilling at the airport. And unfortunately, the 1/72 Kampfer is 3.5kg,........so yeah I'm not sure I will see Kampfer anytime soon or if at all.

I ordered one as well. I have no idea at this point and who knows when and if they can ship at all. I ordered a Kamper that's been sitting in 'Waiting to ship' for over a week now.

My copy of Kampfer has been waiting in the Shanghai shipping exchange since the 18th of March. Today I finally saw some movement again, as it finally made it to the Shanghai airport.

  17. I'll be on the lookout for US links. These days even the US retailers pre-orders go fast for popular MBs so keep your eyes peeled on this thread and retail sites. Bandai has been limiting stock even to US retailers lately to prevent overstock. Unit 02 is still available for slightly marked up prices, mostly from Bandai responding to the overwhelming amount of scalping for the EVA units.

Lets get FREEDOMs for everyone who wants one.
