  1. I do the line drawings for mine in Microsoft Publisher 2003 and the coloring and shading in GIMP. I'd guess that he does his in MS Paint, perhaps.
  2. Whoops, forgot to reply to this. The reason there's no color in these is that I draw the lineart in Microsoft Publisher and then take it into GIMP and apply color and shading, which takes a LONG time to get looking good. For example, here's three of my current projects. Only the VF-4 is done.
  3. Was going to hold off on posting this until I had another 1 or 2 done, but I may as well get this up now.
  4. Thanks, David. Yeah, it still is a work in progress. It's been in that state for at least 6 months or so, I put it aside to work on other VFs since one of the guys here has done a lot of VF-11 profiles. I was and still am intending to use the modified tail fins, but when I go that far in my drawing, I couldn't find that picture at the time. I remember the thread discussing that a while back. In the short term though, I have another VF-4 finished, and two more nearing completion, plus I still have to work on my VF-21 Schwalbe color profile base too. Hmm, thinking about it, I'll go ahead and post that VF-4 I have done in the color scheme thread. I intended to wait until I got a couple more done, but that'll take a few days. I was really happy how well the Ghost+VF-0s came out. It was a complex piece and took a lot of work. I especially enjoyed the VF-0B and VF-0D with FAST packs and Ghost, since I love doing versions like that.
  5. He's talking about the QF-2200A Ghost booster attached to the VF-0A in the size comp I posted. As far as the Booby Duck, it's referring to FAST packs mounted on the VF-1.
  6. I haven't started any VF-1 variants like that. All I have so far is the baseline DYRL VF-1A and VF-1J. Eventually I'll get to things like that though. As for the VF-0s, I did all four variants with the Ghost booster attached (VF-0A/B/D/S).
  7. Ironically enough, I did something like this earlier this morning with some of the Valkyrie's I've worked on.
  8. Yeah, I know. The idea is that these were reservist squadron VF-4s used for the filming of "DYRL?" circa 2031. They had a hard time finding VF-1s that were still flight-worthy, so they used these as stand-ins for close-up cockpit shots by the second crew. Besides, even if I wasn't, they'd still be interesting "What-if?"s... (And I don't remember Max getting a blue VF-4 {edit, nevermind. Macross M3 XD}. I did draw one a few pages back, along with a red-painted Milia one and Hikaru TV white.)
  9. I updated the DYRL Skull Squadron VF-4s with new markings and roundels as well as added Max and Hikaru's.
  10. Tweaked the FB 2012 Skull Squadron VF-4 and finished the Marine SVMF-214 and SVMF-224 VF-4s.
  11. Didn't only Skull and Iron Chief squadrons on the Megaroad get equipped with the VF-4 initially? That would imply to me that the rest of it's compliment was filled with VF-1s, since I don't see that whole ship and fleet only having two squadrons.
  12. While I finish up the SVMF(AW)-224 Bengals and SVMF-214 Blacksheep Marine VF-4s, here's the VF-4A in Skull Squadron markings from Flashback 2012. I've already corrected the nameplate on the canopy, but I don't have an updated .png of it yet. It's now marked "Cpt. H. Ichijyo".
  13. A preview shot of a totally new profile I'm doing, YF-21.
  14. Yeah, it's really slow for me too, choppy on both audio and video. Fortunately Waryas is running beautifully. It's showing some anime on Fuji TV right now.
  15. I finished these up yesterday, thought someone could find them useful for their own profile painting. VF-0A/B/D/S Phoenix with Ghost boosters, based on the Hasegawa lineart for the model kits.
  16. It's Shin's F-14 squadron from the first episode of Macross Zero. I redesignated them into the "SVF" fighter squadron classification though. They were, I think, UNSF-225, on the decal sheet.
  17. Not yet, but it can be done. I'll start working on one. I'm finishing up the VF-31 F-14F and working the SVF-225 VF-4 (both pictured below).
  18. Thanks Wolfman. I had to go back and look at the model reference material before I realized that. I just finished cobbling together a VF-0B lineart that will serve for now until I can get a cleaner scan of the painting guide for the Hasegawa model. That, or maybe a VF-0D, will likely be the next VF I paint.
