  1. Yeah, I've considered that as well, although Baltar's got a pretty good track record with sleeping around as well, and I just can't belive Anders and Tori were virgins, and we haven't heard of any of them having children (aside from Tyrol and Cally), so mayhaps birth control (either of the Trojan variety or the Cylon variety) works REALLY well in the BSG verse!
  2. Oh hells yeah, I'll throw in my 10... Prediction - Ellen Tigh
  3. Charlton Heston died in his home at 84 today. Sad year indeed. A statement was issued by his family: "To his loving friends, colleagues and fans, we appreciate your heartfelt prayers and support. Charlton Heston was seen by the world as larger than life. He was known for his chiseled jaw, broad shoulders and resonating voice, and, of course, for the roles he played. Indeed, he committed himself to every role with passion, and pursued every cause with unmatched enthusiasm and integrity. We knew him as an adoring husband, a kind and devoted father, and a gentle grandfather, with an infectious sense of humor. He served these far greater roles with tremendous faith, courage and dignity. He loved deeply, and he was deeply loved. No one could ask for a fuller life than his. No man could have given more to his family, to his profession, and to his country. In his own words, "I have lived such a wonderful life! I've lived enough for two people."
  4. After watching ther episode, a few thoughts... - Those were the best effects I've seen on the show by far, watching on high-res dvd will be spectacular. It was great seeing Anders in a Viper making nugget mistakes rather than being a natural pilot. - As to Gauis' religiosity, I'm starting to think he may have gotten a clue this time. For once in his life, he thought of another person before himself. He wasn't coerced into asking the former Circle member to spare his groupie, he actually put her ahead of himself. But of course, being Baltar, his egotism/libido will no doubt get him into very hot water soon enough, what with the "feeling of God's presence" among his followers. - Kara may not be back, but Starbuck definitely is. There is more of S1 Starbuck in this person, rather than the Kara we've seen from "Scar" on. She seems so carefree, its hard to imagine this was the same person at her mother's deathbed only a few episodes ago. Someone else noted that we haven't seen her bare arm with Anders' wedding tattoo, so maybe this isn't the exact same person we knew. I'm in the 'not a Cylon' camp, butsomething isn't right with her... Fatalist: There appears to be trouble brewing among the Cylon, with talks of having the Raiders' lobotomized. And we have a new 6 model to be wary of...
  5. So if we take time travel into consideration, I dont think Miles (asian Boatie) was ghost-talking. I think somehow he can project his mind back in time and was actually talking with the kid that lived in the room. The pictures on the stairway changed after he went up, perhaps indications of a history change? Which leads to ALL sorts of headaches about paradoxes, but when is time travel EVER neat?
  6. According to the producers, S4 is aobut how they get off, S5 is all about trying to get back to the Island and why, and S6 will be what happens when they do get back.
  7. Genius idea Jenius! For my money Des's time-skipping episode was the best they've done in quite a while. I'm really liking the direction Season 4's going. The shorter season schedule doesn't leave room for filler episodes, so it's pretty much full steam ahead from now on, what with only got 2 and a half seasons left.
  8. Soooo they're using the Donnie Darko jet engine time machine? If one can work, why not several!
  9. I picked up the Voyager Incinerator. Reeeealy nice sculpt with the Osprey, robot mode is a bit back heavy as the entire spine of the 'copter is still intact, and is it just me or does the head look slightly familiar....
  10. Forgive the dense-ness, but is there a full reissue of the SV-51 on the horizon or just a restock, making sure the joints are correct and no other changes? I know the CF version is coming, but I've been wanting get Ivanov's.
  11. The first US boxet is up for pre-order with a release on March 11th with a MSRP of $53.99 for 13 eps. Extras include: -Interview with Shoji Kawamori(!) -Tokyo International Anime Fair 2005 Talk Show with cast and crew -Tsugumi’s "All about CG!" Series -Textless Songs -Trailers Now if they would bring more of Kanno's kick ass orchestral goodness to the states, not that I don't already have the Japanese releases....
  12. Not too prolong this anymore than it already has, but I for one would be greatly disapointed if they go the Stargate route with 'aliens are the true gods'. Athough 'Raiders' is cited as establishing God-as-diety, "Last Crusade' went leaps and bounds in its interpreation of the divine. The cup of Christ healing Dr. Jones (Sr.) leading to his 'illumination' about his belief in the divine suddenly an alien artifact? That is appalling and I for one will not spend a penny on it. Not even on the John-Williams-compsed-which-will-be-no-doubt-incredible-score.
  13. Leaked trailer. The trailer's gonna be up in about 7 or so hours, but for you night (or day) owls, here's the boot of it.
  14. So now we have Star Trek to look forward to......IN FRACKING MAY 2009!!! No reason at all given.
  15. So how bizarre is this? X Japan just got one of their songs onto Saw 4. It's the end credit song and the dvd comes with a music video. How in the hell did that happen???
  16. I really liked the movie. The way you were just thrown in without all the exposition was a nice way to take on the monster movie genre. The movie did have a fair number of 'that would never happen/Hollywood conceits, but it was such a well done thrillride, you didn't really notice until the end. I'm not sure either if it will hold up on dvd, you need to have the entire theater speaker system booming at you to get the full impact. If anyone wants a fan-done take on the monster take a look at this pic. It's not entirely accurate, but better than most. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v447/ign...monsterlast.jpg The only talk of a storyline for sequels is the events of the same night, but with a different perspective. Giachinno is trying to get the Roar! overture up for download, but it may be a few days.
  17. They completely changed the actor for her 'husband' in 1999, now he looks armed forces-esque, same dialogue tho. When Sarah gets John from school in the dream, she now finds him alone in a library instead of a full classroom. The ending doesn't have her stashing the guns in the walls, just shots of the three of them going into the house. I liked the T3 'you died of cancer in 2005' continuity sidestep, but the continuity in the Terminator mythos has never been clean, especially with the new movies going on their own timeline...
  18. Something else I noticed, could be a minor thing, but I kinda doubt it. Everyone else has normal water glasses next to them, but goblets are in front of Roslyn (smaller goblet on fire), Tigh, missing person, and Lee, who has both goblet and glass. Also they specifically cropped the pics to show the goblets/glasses/books in each zoom....
  19. Sony seems to be following in FF7:AC's footsteps with a full cgi movie sequel to the games, not the Milia movies. Takes place 7 years after Raccoon City got nuked, starring at least Claire and Leon. No word on if it's a theatrical release, but my bet would be a dvd release. ShockTilYouDrop posted a quick teaser trailer: http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/films.php?id=3206
  20. The 5 minute clips online are just that, tiny clips shoddily edited. Only a couple times do the online clips actually follow the pacing of the movie, usually about half the footage is cut. That being said, even if the movie's pants, the score is pretty-fracking sweet. It's like Brian Tyler wrote us fans a valentine. We've got Silverstri-styled percussion for the Predator, Goldsmith's (Alien) brass ambience, Horner's (Aliens) energetic action writing (with quotes of "Bishop's Countdown"), Goldenthal's (Alien3) psychotic brass/string writing, and even bits of Frizzel's (Resurrection) style. At least the music'll be good. You can listen to both "Decimation Proclamation" and "Aliens vs Predator Requiem" on his myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/briantylercomposer
  21. Spoilers in case nobody wants to know anything: Except that in one of the interviews with Eick,
  22. The President of Bandai Visual USA, gave a brief response to the initial editorial in his blog: "I received more comments on my blog last week. Thank you for giving me a lot of viewpoints about the market. I appreciate it. Last week, Mr. Justin Sevakis posted a very interesting editorial on AnimeNewsNetwork.com. I'm guessing some of you have already read it. There are a lot of points that we, meaning both the people in the industry and the fans as well, need to seriously consider. His editorial starts with the issue of piracy in anime distribution. I do not want argue about the good or bad in regards to watching anime on YouTube or downloading them on BitTorrent. Some of it is illegal, of course, but the important point is what he mentioned at the end -- what the industry can do now to save the anime market in the US. I am not sure how critical the industry's crisis is, however I agree with Mr. Sevakis' point of view that the industry needs to change. Bandai Visual USA has been considering what kind of revolution the market needs, and came to some conclusion on the following points. One was upgrading the quality of everything around the package including the technical side of the image itself and printing quality. Japanese licensors have been told that the US fans don't care about the quality at all, and licensees would cut the costs in order to match the demand on cheap pricing. I KNOW CHEAPER is BETTER. But if the quality is unsatisfactory, isn't the cheap price still expensive? Next was on distribution. Since the anime market is far smaller than the general DVD market or TV distribution market, we cannot use the same distribution channels as the ones that the major Hollywood studios or TV networks use. We have to change the distribution system to suit an extremely niche market. Third is the lead-in time for new shows to arrive in the US market. We noticed that the delay in introducing new shows in the US frustrated the US anime fans a lot. I believe this is why fansubs have been rising in popularity in the US. Well, Bandai Visual USA could solve the first quality issue. For the second issue, although it was not our intention, we had to change it to sell mostly through our own internet distribution, as you know. If we can cut the sales-cost by selling most of our products through direct distribution, we may reduce the prices as fans wish. (So, let's buy our products through dot-anime, PLEASE!) And Bandai Visual Japan and Bandai Visual USA are seriously considering on releasing some of the new shows simultaneously with Japan as the solution for the third issue. Next Spring you may be able to see some of the brand new shows on dot-anime. All the above is what I have been saying at conventions and interviews. And I am glad to hear some people having the same ideas. Even in Japan, some people started to say that it's time to change the anime business. (See ANIMEANIME! site if you can read Japanese) Again, putting high prices is NOT our intention. Since the market is small and we wish to have fans watch our shows in good quality, we need to put some higher prices compared to traditional US anime products. If you like one of our titles, please tell your friends about how you love it."
  23. Best Buy has Razor on sale for $20, with an extra disc with a 20min making of that's pretty good - interviews, behind the scenes and the like.
  24. The unrated adds a few graphic scenes - the aftermath of the Pegasus XO's death, little more human experimenting in Adama's flashback. Adds a fair number of scenes - Shaw before she came to Pegasus, a Baltar-Six scene, little more of Roslin, more of the Adama flashbacks (from the whole battle to the ship lifting off), Cain's little backstory, and a whole monologue from the Hybrid. I put the whole monologue in spoliers just to be safe: Let the dissection commence! Overall, it's a good dvd buy. You get both the broadcast and extended cuts, commentary by RDM and Michael Taylor (writer), 3 deleted scenes, 2 featurettes; The look of Galactica and the cast's favorite episodes. Interviews about S4, and the S4 promo we've already seen.
  25. Full body shot of Joker revealed early, the full pic is on He Is Coming ETA: for some reason I was having trouble getting the pic to show up, seems to be okay now
