What's so bad about the Unicorn? I built it about a week ago and didn't have any issues with it, though I haven't tried transforming it yet... I'm building the Astray at the moment, which I'm finding to be very tedious due to the dumb way Bandai has used to attach many of the parts to the sprue What's a good PG to get? Was looking at the 00 but the general consensus here seems to be that its not so great...

With all this talk of PG kits.... Has anyone got a pic of a PG kit next to an MG kit so I can get an idea of the size difference? Have just got into this Gundam kit building thing - built the MG Sinanju, Shin Musha and Strike w/ IWSP so far... MG Sinanju = fun mixed with much tedium Would love to get the PG 00, but damn it's expensive - something like $450 to get it here to Perth

Hi, a few questions from a soon to be n00b gundam kit builder... 1. These are snap together kits - how well do they stay together? Is it worth using cement at all? 2. Should I wash the frames before building / painting? Heard the manufacturing process leaves some kinda residue behind that can stop paint adhering properly. 3. Waterslide decals... I haven't used these in YEARS and can barely remember the right way to do it (if I ever did know the right way to do it ). How long do you need to dunk them in water for? 4. And on waterslide decals... Microsol & Microset - what's the difference between these and which should I buy? Thanks

The staff at HLJ must be working the weekend the way the website has been updating - on Friday the VE-1 was still listed as "October Release", since then it's changed to "Low Stock" and now to "In Stock"... Meanwhile my order has changed to being processed for shipping! Although I hope the extra things I just ordered managed to get packed with the VE-1 as well...

Today much to my surprise I found a shop that sells the "Bandai Action Base 1" stands... cheap too at $12 each... I know some of you here use them with your Yamato valks, but I don't know if this involves modding the stand at all or how to go about it if it does... I'm planning on using these with 1/48 valks if that matters. If they do the job I'll grab a few, especially now that the Yamato launch-arm style stands have been discontinued Thanks

I have both of these - both bought from Target and they are fine, possibly a bad batch got through but I certainly didn't get any rejects... I was a bit wary of the MP-4 Prime as it looked like it had been double-taped but no problems with it at all.

That 1/24 Ingram looks sexy Very tempted to get it but the Aussie dollar vs the Yen and shipping charges are stopping me for the moment... Any chance of a photo of it next to a 1/48 Valk for size comparison?

Any Formula 1 fans among us? I'll be heading to Melbourne for my first GP at the end of the month - can't wait! Looks to be an interesting season ahead, hard to say who has the advantage right now what with all the changes from last season, but it's great to see the cars have slicks again finally. Can't say though that I'm that keen on them implementing KERS, especially when they're trying to cut costs... -
Hey, a few questions that I might pose to you... 1. Side Covers - do these lock in at all or just remain kinda loose in there? 2. The big chunky chest piece - similar to the side covers, does this lock in place? Even with the slots for the hinges on top it doesn't really seem too secure for me. 3. What's the best order people have found for actually putting the parts on? Obviously some parts, such as the forearm armour, can go on whenever but other bits like the cap things that go over the top of the legs can be a bit trickier to get on if someting else is already in the way... Cheers

I recently picked one of these up at a local toy-fair... haven't had a chance to tinker with it yet but just wanted to know if there were any issues with these that I should know about given Yamato's sometimes dodgy QC... This thing to be precise... Cheers

I have the green one that was released a few years back - it's not bad but at the same time it's nothing special... the vintage mold is starting to show it's age compared to some of the newer vehicles.

Hello, quick question for those that would know... Aside from colour, are there any differences between these Yamato display stands? Black Macross Display Stand Green Macross Display Stand Any opinions on these anyway? I know there are cheaper alternatives available but I do like the look of these - a black one for my Stealth and a couple of green ones for Max & Miria would look nice I think Kinda wish I got a few before the Aussie dollar went into freefall, would have saved a fair chunk of coin but these things happen... Cheers

The G8 is actually an Australian car - it's a rebadged & slightly remodelled Holden VE Commodore, much like the GTO was a Americanised Holden Monaro... If Ford USA had any sense they'd be getting the new FG Falcon range out onto US streets - the Turbo inline 6 is a fantastic motor... much better cars than the G8 imo, although I am a Ford fan

It's at Kmart in Oz now for $79 on sale (normally $129) I'm tempted to get one but I already have 4 Gunships (1 of each of the previous releases) - damn these things take up some space!

The Rebel Pilot legacy / evolution set (series one) is another nice one, some really well done figures in that, hope the series two set is just as good. The Imperial Pilot set is not quite so good, not bad but the figures are all definetely lacking in articulation in various spots... Biggs' helmet is just plain wrong too... Bought myself the Lego Republic Gunship today! Has been an expensive couple of weeks for me with this influx of new SW toys, aside from a bunch of new figures I've also got the AT-TE and the Lego Millenium Falcon which I had on lay-buy for a while...

More Futurama figures on the way apparently... Series 4 [Nudar & Fry as Captain Yesterday] Series 5 [Calculon & Leela as Clobberella] Series 6 [super King Bender & Lrrr of Omicron] Nudar? Need my memory refreshed as to who this is... Kinda disappointing line-up IMO, would have liked to see some other characters ie the Professor / Chef Elzar / Amy / Hermes / Robot Santa / the Don Bot / Mom etc etc... Wonder if there will be a build-a-figure with this series as well, and who would it be? GIVE US HEDONISM BOT!

These would be for the Robot Devil build-a-figure I presume so it's not really surprising that Bender can't use them. Good news that you found them anyway, hopefully they'll be showing up in Oz before too long!

If it's anything like the green A-wing then no - not at all Speaking of the A-wing, does anyone know if the original version came with any electronic features? On the bottom of the green one there is a piece of plastic that looks to be the cover for a battery compartment...

I have this, but I had it displayed upright sitting on its engines so I never got the droopy wings problem, although I think it did suffer from it - they're not made of very stiff plastic. Might be possible to insert a couple of thin metal rods into the wings somehow to stop it happening though.

Jedi Starfighter is all I know it as - it's actually been released in several colour schemes (Obi-Wan's originally), and was recently re-released (in Obi-Wan's colour scheme again), this time including the Hyperdrive Ring he uses in the film... should still be at TRU, they had them quite cheap for a while (~$36 iirc) but I don't know if they're still that price.
