  1. The 2007 TAC Y-Wing looks terrible imo, saw it at TRU and the paint job is just awful. Lazy effort on Hasbro's part. I do want the droid from it though... Shirtless Anakin still lacks ankle articulation unfortunately, which is a shame as I think it's the ankle articulation that makes all the difference sometimes... Hanging out for the AT-TE here, maybe the new Falcon as well... god knows where I'll put these behemoths though...
  2. The Macross Ultimate Collection is at a local store for about $40 (that's Aussie dollars)... Was tempted to buy it but I don't actually know what it's comprised of. Can anybody please tell me what the deal is with this set and whether or not I should be leaving work early today to go and buy it? Thanks
  3. There was one that came in a Jedi vs Sith battle pack a while ago, around the time ROTS figures were still shipping, but it wasn't a great figure (most of the figures that come in the battle packs are pretty shocking) - the new Obi-Wan that is about to be released is light years ahead (if you'll pardon the pun)... Unless you meant an Obi-Wan made in the animated style... in which case no...
  4. Hey... Would someone possibly be able to post a side by side pic of the Yamato 1/12 Scopedog & Yamato 1/48 Valk? Thinking of getting the 1/12 Turbo Custom and would kinda like to know in advance how much room it's going to occupy (a fair bit I presume) so I can make room for it. Have only really seen pictures of it by itself, at least if I can see it (by it I mean any 1/12, I know the Turbo Custom is yet to be released) next to a Valk I can get a good comparison... If you could include a 1/18 Scopedog in the shot that would be an added bonus! Thanks
  5. Revoltechs from that site seem to be $32 upwards + shipping, so not any cheaper for me than going into the city... Hideous price for the YF-19 w/Fold booster there - $345! Price of convenience really getting them locally, plus I have no credit card so I'm somewhat stuck.
  6. Anyone know what the real costs are (after shipping) from HLJ to Australia are for Revoltechs? HLJ has some useful info but it is still only an estimate. I've got a few Revoltechs from Empire Toys in Perth - they usually have them for around $40, but their range is limited and I don't actually get into the city that often. Does Australia count as part of Asia for HLJ calculates shipping? Their site says Asian countries should expect to pay ~25% less for shipping than the quoted estimate. Cheers
  7. What's the big green ship in the bottom photo from? Looks awesome!
  8. Perhaps steal was the wrong word to use - borrow would have perhaps been more appropriate, but it reminds me a lot of a valk in GBP armour.
  9. If you've played WoW enough, you would have seen these lumbering beasts lurching through the Outlands - maybe even had the 'pleasure' of one of them laying the smackdown on you! But the more I look at it, the more I'm reminded of something else... WoW Mech...
  10. Dug out that issue of Warplane, more info on it than I thought... "The pilot and WSO sit side-by-side in an air conditioned and pressurised emergency escape module. An explosive cutting cord, detonated by either of the crew, separates this capsule from the fuselage at any speed or altitude, a rocket motor carrying it upwards and away from the stricken aircraft before a parachute is deployed to ensure a controlled descent. To stabilize it a small portion of the wing remains attached to the capsule, which is adapted for survival on land or in water with airbags cushioning an 'on land' landing and keeping it afloat in water. The safety module means that the pilots do not need to use 'poopy' suits, although they must, like other fighter pilots, wear anti-gravity suits. These suits inflate under conditions of high g to prevent blood rushing to the aircrew's feet and rendering them unconscious." Poopy suits? Magazine is from 1987, dunno how much has changed on the F-111 since then... a bit I'd presume.
  11. Didn't the F-111 have some kind of ejector pod? I remember seeing it in a "Warplane" magazine I think, although IIRC it didn't have any real info about it...
  12. My Hasbro SS is still in it's box, but from what I can see there are none of the "No Step" markings on the wings at least. I have the original Takara SS as well, don't know that I'd consider it "frail" as such, but it's certainly not something that I'd want to be repeatedly transforming. Looks nice in any case.
  13. Has there been any definitive news yet on whether the Takara MP Starscream will have any differences to the Hasbro version? I managed to get the Hasbro one but I also have the Takara one pre-ordered... I would hope that there's some meaningful difference between them, aside from packaging of course, maybe some accessories? The rumoured cape & crown would be nice.
  14. Actually I think the ball missed Australia - I went into Kmart today and had a quick look at the TF section... absolutely NOTHING but for at least 100 TF branded bouncy balls and those crappy keychains. Hasbro IMHO made a big mistake creating way too many movie toys THAT DON'T ACTUALLY TRANSFORM! This shortage of toys isn't confined to just Transformers mind you, my main focus is Star Wars figures (Hasbro again surprise surprise) and their distribution is just as pitiful, and the case assortments frequently baffling.
  15. I think that's it hiding behind the little motorbike to the right of the bottom drawer... Those shoulder bits do detach from Megs a bit too easily, although it's almost a good thing as I found they got in the way a bit when trying to transform him. Same with the trigger bit on the legs. Am I alone in finding Megatron somewhat difficult to transform? English instructions would help but nonetheless...
