  1. So basically, you cleaned the place out. Last I was in there, those were the only two they had.
  2. Doki Doki Productions homepage http://www.doki.ca/ haves the NYO is WAR AMV and his other AMVs up for downloads. Thanks for the link!
  3. The sexy commando style isn't just about dropping ones pants and waddling like a bird. Basically, all fighting comes down to waiting for the moment when your opponent lets his guard down and taking advantage of it. But sexy commando is different. In sexy commando, you don't wait for an opening; you create one by putting your opponent off guard through distraction. Of course, had you bothered to give the show half a chance and watch the next couple of episodes, this would have been explained to you. Even if it isn't to your taste, utterly stupid it is not. Oh, and the episodes are only eight minutes long.
  4. Sugoi yo! Masaru-san is an awesome show. It's utterly insane, and yet for some bizarre reason makes sense on some non-thinking level (don't try thinking about it). Fun, fun show. I suddenly feel the need to finally break down and pick up the DVDs (only three volumes, thankfully). Just to nitpick the review a bit, the anime is pretty much a one for one following of the the manga, so the complaints about the design problems being caused by poor animation aren't really true. Also, I could have sworn that Sakurai (Di Gi Charat and Akihabara Den no Gumi) directed the show.
  5. I'm only familiar with the manga, but I like it a lot -pyo. * Different and kind of dark at times -pyo. Hey A7, where can I find this amv you mention -pyo? * Just thought I'd give a little equal time to the dark side.
  6. Yeah, Babel II is Big Fire in the Giant Robo anime. In fact, all the characters are from different Yokoyama manga, with their roles recast. I'd avoid the Babel II that's being released in the US. I've seen a few episodes of it and it sucks. I'm holding out for a release of the original TV series getting put out over here. Not likely to happen, but I can always dream. The GR OVA took what, almost ten years to finish? I doubt we'll see anymore Giant Robo anime, at least like that again. There is a manga out now that's set in the anime universe. I've never personally seen it, so I can't say how good it is (apparently it's about how Daisaku gets Giant Robo).
  7. Di Gi Charat is generally aimed at an otaku audience (excepting probably Panyo Panyo). She is the mascot for Gamers, after all. Thanks for the review, A7. I'm still waiting on my first volume of Nyo. CD Japan is apparently out of stock. *sigh*
  8. That'd be cool, especially if they made it a bad guy robot. They made Babel II a villain, so why not?
  9. Look closer at the pics. The extra length in the strike cannon comes from the gun itself, not the booster or the missile launcher. The pictures all along have shown the boosters are the same size and the missile launchers. Simple logic then would dictate that the packs are even in super configuration.
  10. For the most part, the movies are good. I can understand needing to make changes to the plot to adapt it to the different medium. What I don't get is the need to change the characters' personalities. Not just Faramir, but Elrond, Gimli, Merry, and Pippin all pretty much get the shaft in the films, being mischaracterized and/or reduced to comedy relief. The problem with the change to Faramir is that it not only screwed over a good character, it left a plot hole big enough to drive a Mac truck through.
  11. I love the Simpson bit in the episode where Bleeding Gums dies. "Kimba... I mean Simba, my son..."
  12. Well, the studio that made Nadia was known to be staffed by a bunch of otaku. Also, there wasn't much said about Atlantis, I think that's because people realized both Nadia and Atlantis were simply drawing from the same inspiration (Verne and other turn of the century adventure fiction). There was an outcry against the Lion King, including a boycott by much of the Japanese animation industry.
  13. But Japanese law is not the same as American law when it comes to IP. My understanding is that Japan doesn't have the intense defend or lose it system that's used in the US.
  14. Why not just make a link on your site pointing to that page on Nanashi's?
  15. I know there was one or two added for the anniversary LD release. I've got them on tape somewhere unsubbed. Love the Sailor Moon one.
  16. There's a priest who attends our anime showings on occasion, but he's more of a Gundam fan.
  17. Nope. Supposedly Manga Entertainment is working on it, but since they're now in the process of being sold, who knows when or if it'll ever come out on DVD. edit: grammar
  18. I haven't gotten mine either. I just hope I didn't accidently delete it along with the buttload of spam I've been getting in my mail box lately.
  19. Yeah. That came across as being way more trollish than I entended and off topic. I've removed the post, so please just ignore what I said. Thanks. edit: spelling
  20. SDFCommander: that actually looks pretty good. The missiles look kinda weird, though.
  21. Does the head only have one laser or is the other one just pointed perfectly straight on?
  22. I think the differences far outstrip the similarities.
  23. I believe verniers on the wingtips would give more maneuverability.
  24. If you had called or e-mailed me, you could have car pooled with me. Wish you, Jon, or David Hingtgen could have been there. I didn't get out of work until after 1:00 in the afternnoon. It would have been cool to see though.
