It's an interference spacer. Works like a lever in that system, so the tightness of the joint is more adjustable. Metal doesn't have much give, so the difference between too tight and too loose is very slight. That POM part has more flex, to give you more control.

I think that's the route with those two. I feel reasonably certain, looking at these figures, that they don't transform, but that a Hi-Metal R valkyrie would definitely transform. This must be all they have to show, for now, the 3D equivalent of shadowy silhouettes. I'm curious though, if they can make the VF-11 transform when it's built like a Pixar mom.

Cheers from southern Washington! Personally, for me, discussing proportion about Valkyries is like discussing scale about Transformers. Yes, there's an "official" reference, but it's not that great (the Sunbow chart makes up a lot of the scale relationships, and the isometric Macross linearts are often made after the fact). Personally, if the figure looks good by itself, not in regards to a screenshot or lineart, then I feel it's a good display piece. If it is made of sturdy construction, then it's a good toy as well. We're already throwing out many of the reference lineart concepts (like the flippy feet instead of slidey feet) to make this a better toy, why nitpick about a slightly different nose shape or fin shape? BTW, I love your Lego designs, not just your Macross inspired ones, but all of them, especially the transforming designs. I love that you integrate classic themes into them, too, like the Konig Monster being in classic space colors

Any places still have the Armored set up for preorder? Someone on FB gave me the impression that preorders opened at 4pm Japan time, so I was waiting, and it turns out that was a mistake. Nippon Yasan looks like it's up, but I've heard bad things about them. Anyone else?

To be fair, it is one of the few things they did better. By and large, the DX blows the Yammies out of the rings of Saturn.

That's....plausible. The Max and Millia sets would need to come with just the leg panels, and the booster half of the boosters. I guess we'll need to see if the leg panel of the TV Ver is glued or not

I can't believe I paid $200 for this crap, and now I'm trying to break it.... I'm only attempting it on my non-dominant missile box, since I really only display in Strike configuration

I am Zak. Once the guy commented, I tried replying, but said the post was no longer available. When I tried to go to the page's frontpage to see if my post got deleted, it said I couldn't access the page. When I searched for it, I didn't get any hits, so I concluded that I got banned from the group for finding an interesting secret. If you plug in the other piece of armor, it gives you a place to grip. The outer panel overlaps all the way around the section, so there's nothing on the edges to grasp except the panel you're trying to remove. Also, the glue may have been light on my sample. I see they put eight dots of superglue, but only a few of them seem to have stuck

I don't know if anyone else has discovered this, but I bring F O R B I D D E N knowledge. There is a full set of sculpted details under the leg panels of the SSP, but you have to coax the panel off, it's glued down. I posted this in a group on Facebook and got banned. VID_20201004_120527.mp4
