  1. You have my attention!
  2. I'm willing to join whoever is first to include boobs.
  3. I never understood the appeal of the original low vis 1, it's all gray with a shitty weathering job, big whoop
  4. Not really. when a nuclear bomb goes off it doesn't just fry everything for hundreds of miles beyond the immediate blast radius. when a Nuclear weapon goes off, it creates 3 spacific types of EMP. the first and most dangerous is E1, which is the result of gamma radiation creating free electrons from the air that get deflected by the earth's magnetic field. Second is E2 which is basically the same pulse generated by lightning strikes, and finally E3 which comes from the earth's magnetic field being moved by the blast. this is similar to the effects of a solar flare. now here's the problem. E1, which has the biggest effect, only works if the bomb goes off at high altitude. optimum altitudes for bombs being used to generate EMPs are in the hundreds of kilometers. bellow altitudes of 10km you don't even get an E1 pulse because the atmosphere is too dense and all the free electrons are absorbed too quickly. Now if the bombs being used primarally for blast damage, then the optimum burst altitude is going to be way less than that. most ICBM's have 300-500 kiloton warhead with optimum burst altitudes of between 5 and 10kms. if skynet were to use it's weapons to inflict maximum blast damage, the only EMP effects you'd have to worry about were E2 and E3. E2 being the same as a lightning strike is something a good portion of stuff is already shielded against anyways, and E3 while more powerful only effects the immediate blast area. and if you're in the blast area you have much more to worry about; like heat, radiation and the blast wave. tl;dr unless you're trying to use a nuke to make an EMP, heat/radiation/concussive force are going to do way more damage than the EMP generated.
  5. I see what you did there
  6. that was my great uncles name
  7. what bugs me is that it LOOKS like they took 4 Nupetiet-Vergnitzs class ships and stuck them onto a big transforming hull, but they didn't. they're actually whole new structures. so the design looks lazy (because they just recycled old ship designs) but has no logical justification. (if they WERE Nupetiet's you could argue that they were recycling captured zentradi ships to cut costs.)
  8. not to get into politics but seriously, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU'RE COUNTRY?!? I thought Australia was supposed to be such a chill, laid back country. (I mean, things suck out here in commiefornia, but it's stuff like this that make me glad I'm here and not somewhere else)
  9. you know why the look somewhat similar? it's because both are attempts to make modernized interpretations of the VF-1 w/strike packs. the similarities come from both behind derived form the same source I'm not too keen on the gun's on the tornado pack myself, I really love the new wing parts myself (I love mid wing/wing tip nacelles ) it's sort of like saying that someone's girlfriend looks like your favorite porn star. it may be complement to you because you're saying she looks like a chick you find hot, but to the person you sound like you're comparing their girlfriend to a disease ridden whore.
  10. sadest news I've heard all day, I cried on the inside I might be interested in the bondage Sheryl (bondage and exposed ass is always a good combo), but I'll probably wait till they come out to decide. I love my klan figure, but these were ridiculously expensive last time.
  11. robotech thread got me thinking about this... as a 100% heterosexual male I've read all the twilight book and actually kind of liked them. (movies are poo though)
  12. dude, it's 1am here and I'm about to fall asleep, what?
  13. because it/they can and explosions and post apocolyptic car chases are COOL so there! (I finally rented this a couple days ago, I actually wish I had gone to see it. there were lots of explosions and robots, I liked it. Sometimes I don't give a poo about things like plot or logic.)
  14. thank you for this insightful and informative contribution to this thread good sir.
  15. you know, I realized something; the twilight movies and robotech both prove the same thing. rabid/vapid fans will buy any crap you offer them as long as you slap their fandom of choice's name all over it.
  16. my thoughts on that. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...st&p=795204
  17. Hollywood has REALLY short term memory when it comes to bad ideas. They remember that District 9 made 160-something million dollars, and all that money makes them forget all the times when this idea DIDN'T WORK. also, I don't care if no one went to go see them, Sky Captain and Shoot em' Up were awesome movies.
  18. so when is this one coming out, I can't help but wounder what's going on under her top.
  19. I think this guy desperately wishes he was Neill Blomkamp and that this was Alive in Joburg. unfortunatly he ain't and this isn't. I did enjoy hearing the awesome music from 28 day's later though. also at 0:27, the kids reaction as just HILARIOUSLY cheesy. :edit: you know, this feels like it's just trying to rip off a LOT of popular films. the poor acting and cheep special effects don't help but I think it's biggest problem is the total lack of originality. I will say that the music video version linked at the end isn't half bad.
  20. Eh, if all you care about is getting the land to strip mine it, then it really is as simple as blowing sh!t up. (i.e. Nuke the site from orbit, it's the only way to be sure)
  21. maybe it's like the YF-21 where you get brackets so if you already own the fold booster you can attach it.
  22. bit different. in Aliens the marines were ambushed in a confined area by highly specialized stealth predators who's whole existence is "sneak up on shit from the shadows and kill it." Also they had to turn in all their explosive tipped ammo so they were down to nothing but pistols. and the Aliens had f*cking ACID FOR BLOOD! what do the natives in Avatar have? they're blue and have long necks, and they ride f*cking blue dragons against gunships and power armor... James Cameron, I am disappoint
  23. poo that's hot. I'm not sure what I want more, the AB, Miria's VF-22 or that carbon fiber Ingram shield. http://www2.moeyo.com/img/09/11/30/3/328.html :drools:
