  1. Reading your Grace quote, that line makes a lot more sense now. Which sub did you watch? Personally, I thought Lunar's subs were pretty subpar but I didn't know any other group had finished subbing the entire series.
  2. I haven't finished watching Macross F yet so all I can say is that Sheryl's singing voice when speaking engrish is just awful. Specifically in "What 'bout my Star?"
  3. That looks fantastic. Wish I had some money to pick up some of these damn things. That and the Canadian dollar is piss poor right now.
  4. Okay this no neck thing is getting a little stupid. One of the first images released and it has a neck. I don't know how everybody keeps overlooking this.
  5. That particular magazine scan was posted several pages back anyways, nothing new here. This is why I think the first post for all pictures and links to pictures was a great idea back in version 1 of the thread. That way, no need to scour the pages for pics or posting of old pics. However, the messaging mods to post pics in first post was a bad idea.
  6. I'm not a huge fan of the DX's proportions but that 25G still looks really cool. Maybe it's the posing or the FAST packs making the proportions not as apparent. Then again, even if the proportions are off, the 25G is just plain awesome. RVF-25 not looking too shabby either.
  7. Hell yeah, I'd be a lot happier with it if the DX looked like your photoshop.
  8. But why did the DX have to deviate so far from the line art to be a durable toy? Why is the toy not allowed to look as similar to the line art as the model? This kind reasoning is so full of flaws it's not even funny. It's a toy so it's not allowed to have the same proportions and aesthetics as the model kit which is smaller and close to perfect transformation and remaining accurate to the line art/CG. Accuracy MUST be sacrificed to ensure durability. The people that don't care that it's not accurate would not buy it if it was more accurate to the line art. Do any of those things make any sense? No, and yet that's what I keep hearing.
  9. What format are they? I'm not watching them on my computer, I'm streaming them onto my Xbox 360 to watch on the TV.
  10. So it's a big thread and I just recently started watching Macross F so I'm hoping someone can give me some quick and easy answers. Which subs do people think are the best? I've been watching Lunar from episodes 1-7 and was wondering if their is a better alternative. They aren't bad, I just find that the way they display song lyrics and karaoke for them during battle scenes is pretty distracting.
  11. Just to be clear, I AM NOT ASKING WHERE TO DOWNLOAD. I just recently got around to watching Macross F with Lunar's subs and their subs are honestly really distracting. And I mean the giant karaoke subs at the top of the screen for the song lyrics during a battle scene, those are very distracting. So is there a better alternative? EDIT: D'oh, just saw the Macross F fansub thread, mods feel free to close and delete.
  12. Yes I did, I was going to edit that back into my post but I decided against it. The point still remains valid, the figure will be larger and have more room for some extra engineering. I know the landing gear looks bad now, but I'm sure people would be a lot happier if the DX looked the same as the model but have crappy landing gear than how it looks now. Extendable landing gear still looks entirely possible in the current DX but for whatever reason, Bandai opted not to do it. A Hasegawa also doesn't transform for the most part and take more expertise to build than the already transforming Bandai VF-25. And Yamato has made some arguably gorgeous fighter modes that still have gorgeous gerwalks and battroids since after the original 1/60 VF-1s and the 1/72 M+'s. Damn straight it isn't but who made it law that a toy isn't allowed to look as nice or damn close to the model? I'm not familiar in the specifics of the development of Legioss's as I don't collect them but just because 1 company had a bad experience up scaling a model doesn't mean that it should be forever written off. If anyone could pull it off, we all know it would be Bandai. They just chose not to for whatever reason, which I hope we someday will know. The problem is that if Bandai made the DX as accurate to the VF-25 as the model then the market of people that "don't care about accuracy but want a durable toy" would still buy it. If they made it durable and accurate they would also attract the Yamato crowd. All they did was potentially alienate a buyer market when they could have appeased both easily.
  13. Well the only problems I've had with my tiny amount of Yamatos are: 1) Broken 1/48 Hikaru VF-1J BP-8. In retrospect, completely my fault. I put on the fast packs but they were all droopy because I had completely missed the step in the instructions about depressing the back plate in. I thought I was supposed to push the BP-8 above the stopper to keep it from being droopy. Big mistake. 2) I barely tightened the screws behind one of the shoulders on my VF-0S (first release), and I mean barely and the thing just cracked. Aside from this, the thing is still a floppy mess. A beautiful floppy mess. 3) 1/48 Max VF-1J has some over spray on the white paint on the section to the right of the head. All my other Yamatos are fine but I am still very scared when it comes to removing the FAST packs from the BP-8 on my 1/48s. The connection looks so ridiculously delicate that I can't imagine how this design was passed. I still don't know if I should just leave the FP on when transforming or take them off every time. And it still makes displaying them without FPs a bit of a fright when I want to remove them.
  14. I've yet to chime in on the discussion/hate on Bandai's VF-25 but what Graham has said here is exactly how a feel about the situation. I just started watching Macross F recently and expectantly I want VF-25 now that is in scale the rest of my Valks or Valks to be. When I look at the DX, then the 1/72 model, then the show and line art I'm just kinda bummed about the DX. Bandai already made an incredible looking and perfect transformation (except fists) VF-25 in a smaller scale. I don't see any reason why they couldn't have taken the same design and modified it for a larger scale which would undeniably give them more flexibility to do things like make the fists part of the perfect transformation. It boggles my mind how anyone can argue against this. Bandai has made an awesome $45 VF-25. I would gladly pay $120 for the same design but larger, more durable and completed out of the box and it seems the market that Bandai is trying to tap into would as well. It's just a shame. The current VF-25 doesn't look ugly, it just doesn't look as cool as the model that Bandai has already made is all. The only problem I see with this is that it would completely defeat the purpose of the model which I disagree with. A model leaves a lot more flexibility, freedom to a modeler and customization options at a much smaller cost (not to mention smaller scale which gives consumers more choices for size). A 1/60 figure that looked the same as the model at the current DX price would be for those that aren't in the modeler crowd and it would definitely yield less bitching. I also didn't realize that because something is considered a large scale collectors toy that it isn't allowed to look as nice as it's smaller model counterpart which is proportionally cheaper. Nor did I realize that making proportions wonky made development costs cheaper when you already have a perfectly good design to use that could be up scaled and adjusted slightly to add more features in a larger product. Meh, I'm tempted to get this VF-25 because I love the design of the mecha. But I think I'll wait a couple years before I dive and hope that my options for an accurate, durable and in scale VF-25 increases. Who knows, maybe Bandai will pull a "Renewal" version out of their ass like they do for some Chogokin's that just weren't right the first time around. Doubtful, but sometimes false hope is better than no hope at all.
  15. Dude relax. I'm going to quote myself here which addressed that... "That isn't to say that the Shin release is problem free. I just wouldn't take a poll of such insignificance as any sort of evidence." Instead of going bat-poo crazy you could learn something from other people's words. Instead of trying to cite a poll of 35 votes as something conclusive you should probably think a little about it first. And if Yamato said that the materials they used were crap then why didn't you cite this instead? I'm sure a lot of members would be more inclined to believe it if you did.
  16. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that 30% with problems based on a poll of 35 votes isn't conclusive of anything at all. When it comes to polls, the ones with problems will speak out. The ones that have everything going right will remain silent and happy. That's just that way it usually is. That isn't to say that the Shin release is problem free. I just wouldn't take a poll of such insignificance as any sort of evidence.
  17. No one is forcing you to defend it. People are free to believe what they want no matter how ill informed or ignorant it is. Seeing as how I'm almost 100% sure this is a cannon fodder without it even needing to be addressed, this "defending" of the Shin release isn't even necessary. I suggest you hit up the B/S/T. NMB4M's successor is selling shoulder recasts if that's the only problem.
  18. Mmmmm maybe comparable to an old Master Grade. The Master Grades from around 2003-Now all feature double jointed elbows, knees, necks and shoulders. Waist and universal hip articulation is standard. Not only are the ankles fully posable, the toes are as well. Heck, some of the newer ones have abdominal articulation.
  19. It's by no means bad at all. But when you look at the rest of his galleries (http://www.geocities.jp/climax_f/ Just click around you'll find em) you'll see that he tends to push his figures and Gunpla to the limits of their posability. If this is the best he can do with GNU YF-19, it just doesn't wow me as much as Revoltechs do.
  20. Some galleries that really push the YF-19 and the YF-21 to their limits. http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/galle...tech_YF-19.html http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/galle...tech_YF-21.html Same person also did a gallery of the GNU YF-19, posing results... not as dynamic. http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/gallery-GNU_YF-19.html
  21. Best gallery I've seen so far of the YF-19. http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/gallery-GNU_YF-19.html Yamato really should have included a stand, the figure really shines that way.
  22. So am I the only one that noticed that on the supposed production version that AmiAmi has photographed the arrows on the head are red whereas the red dot is yellow? Whats the deal with that?
  23. Is it just a coincidence that Empire was on Spike TV earlier today?
  24. So does anyone know what's going on with the Milia 1J? From what I heard, Max is going to be a Friend Shop release and Milia will be some sort of magazine special. True or false?
