  1. I always thought that RAM polymer was a little too excessive but thought that it was added just for better stealth performance. But if I were to make a stealth F-15 and it would be heavy, wouldn't logics suggest that I use lighter alloy for the airframe and lighter materials to create the engines and then finally using RAM polymer for the coating of the airframe? Also are you saying that RAM isn't that good as stealthy shapes because of it's performance since RAM absorbs radar waves opposed to stealthy shapes reflecting them?
  2. You're right David about this, and it's funny because six years ago when I finally saw all of SK's VF designs for the first time, I noticed that the YF-21/VF-22 looked stealthy physically since the designed was inspired by the YF-23, which uses RAM and stealth construction opposed to the YF-21/VF-22 using an active stealth system. That confused me as I assumed that the YF-21 had physical stealth capabilities rather than using a cloaking device according to it's stats.
  3. Well Ghostryder, I'll try to answer your qusetion to the best of my knowledge: I don't think that the fighter's stealth ability would be compromised if it used a variable geometry wing design because radar absorbent material is only applied to key areas of the fighter like the air intakes, mainbody, nose and cockpit area and vertical rudders and not on the wings, since they probably don't give off heat saw this information on an episode of Firepower on the Military channel. But quite strangely, a stealth aircraft's stealth capabilty can be compromised if it damaged regardless of where it was hit. If the B-2 were to take in machine gun fire on it's left wing, it will lose it's stealth, all of it. I thought it would lose staelth in that particular part of it's body.
  4. I see now, but what about the considerable possibility that the UN Spacy in the secondary Macross timeline might have gotten fed up with recycling the same design of a VF like in the primary official timeline of Macross where the UN Spacy started Project Super Nova to create a new VF to replace the VF-11 since it's design was outdated?
  5. Good point you quoted out Seto about those unofficial VF-1 variants being interpreted as inbetweeners throughout the Macross universe. Now that I think about, this pretty much solves the problem about what VF designs were used through the time period of 2009 to 2090, the unofficial secondary timeline continuity for Macross spanning from Space War 1 to the Marduk war of Macross 2. I think that the VF-4 and VF-9 shows some credibility of variation among the Macross Secondary timeline.
  6. Mike Szelsky, No offense but I honestly don't see any evidence that shows that Gundams are starting to look more like Valks topsy turvy opposed to SK's VFs are looking more like Gundams. IMHO, I think that they are kept in the same style and fashion according to their series' and design aesthetics. Can you find some feasible evidence that proves this please?
  7. Well before this topic is locked I just wanna give my final 2 cents. I think he's whatever you want him to be whether a medium skinned black, fair skinned Japanese teen, a White guy with a tan or both Blackanese IMHO.
  8. Well white drew carey since you don't want to offend me and don't want to start an argument I'll politely reiterate what I said as best and clear as I can: Macross Universise Consistency- consistent and realistic in terms of the fact that there's various Valk designs and transitional advancement of technological aspects in SK VF's avionics like PPBS and BDS Sound Fource technology opposed to how the VF technology started off with basic avionics. To compensate: THERE'S A TRANSITIONAL AND REALISTIC ADVANCEMENT IN VF TECHNOLOGY and VARIOUS AIRFRAME DESIGNS between 2009-2045 Macross 2 Consistency- consistent in terms of the fact that the VF-2, both variants, RETAIN THE KEY DESIGN AESTHETIC AND BATTROID BODY PART LAYOUT of the VF-0 and VF-1, but UNREALISTIC due to the fact they use outdated technology and they use a design thats' based off a original design but seemingly jumps the design gap in terms of airframe design appearance . For example, it would be like the UN spacy using the VF-11, then the VF-19, and then using the VF-2SS. A clearer example would be the U.S using WW2 planes in WW2, jet planes during the Cold and Vietnam war, era and then going back to using WW2 planes again during the Iraq conflict.
  9. I agree with you white drew carey about this point where the variation of technology in SK's official Macross world is more believable realistic and consistent than M2 but thats in terms of 2 completely differnt things in the case of the VF designs in Macross and the avionics and weapon system technology where you have the designs of the VF-19 having variable geometry swept forward wings and having the pin-pont barrier system as an example opposed to the VF-2SS retaining much of the key components of the VF-0, and VF-1 in terms of their battroid component layout like the head below the fighter behind the cockpit and the arms tucked between the engine nacelles of the fighter and not having a pin point barrier system despite the fatc that it takes place farther in to the future and you would expect some radical form of technology in the weapons sysytems and avionics of the M2 valks. So the point is, the technological advancement and variation in both worlds are consistent according to their time periods in terms of these things that I discussed.
  10. I just searched the internet to find out more information about Brock's background it turns that he may be black instead of Japanese. Here's the proof: Has anyone seen 5th episode of Pokemon? Here is a recap: 5. Showdown in Pewter City gs: Ted Lewis (James/Flint) As they approach the entrance to Pewter City, our heroes meet a strange and enigmatic old rock-seller named Flint. When he learns that Ash is a Pokémon Trainer in training, Flint strategically directs them to the town Pokémon Center knowing they will come across information that will help Ash progress in his journey. Ash discovers that in order to participate in the Pokémon League Championships, he must gather badges earned only by defeating Pokémon Gym Leaders. He heads directly to the Pokémon Gym and challenges the Gym Leader, Brock, but suffers a terrible defeat. Flint encourages the disappointed Ash and provides him with some insight into Brock's unusual situation. Brock must raise 10 brothers and sisters, all by himself, leaving him no foreseeable way in which to realize his dream of participating in the Pokémon League. Though Ash's image of Brock, the powerful Gym Leader, crumbles, his desire to earn a badge is unchanged. Preparing to challenge Brock a second time, Ash gives Pikachu a unique, intense training session. Will the new improved Pikachu be victorious the second time around, and will Brock experience a twist of fate enabling him to fulfill his dream of participating in the Pokémon league? b: 14-Sep-1998 pc: 105 NOTE: Introductions: Brock, Geodude, Onix Misty gives hint that water pokemon is her specialty. The names of Brock's many siblings include Suzy, Tommy, Cindy and Timmy Brock's mom deserted him in the Japanese version. 4Kids didn't like the idea of Brock having TWO dead-beat parents, so they said she died. This is the first badge Ash earned without really defeating the gym leader. Ash Pokemon line up for the Gym Battles-First Time-Pikachu Second Time-Pigeotto and Pikachu Who's that Pokémon: Onix Onix keeps it's original voice and call. Onix's Japanese name is Iwaaku. In this episode, and some others, Pikachu is able to electrocute such Pokemon as Geodude and Onix. This is impossible because they are both ground Pokemon. Original title: Nibi (Pewter) Gym Battle The last time Ash tries getting Pikachu into its Pokeball. The character Flint is named after a rock of the same name. So is the pokemon Onix. TR (Team Rocket) are in this episode. They appear at the start and at the end. They were burying a trap for Ash, but they ended up getting trapped in it themselves. This episode is one of the rare ones where Ash & Co. have no interaction with TR (The Tower of Terror is another episode). This is Brock's first episode. Actually, in the end he was supposed to stay at Pewter City, but Ash suceeded in convincing Brock to follow him. de of pokemon. The episode is nothing but a thinnly valed(sp) drug story. Brocks father is a " corner" selling "boulders". What are boulders? Big ass rocks. Brock's father is crackhead left his family, after his wife died. She possibly ODed. This is not what kids should watching!!! A crackhead episode. NO!!!!! So basically I think that the Japanese suspiscously and cleverly made Brock black and the evidence that shows it is these steroetypes about him are pretty much the cold truth about us blacks. I didn't find it racist but I found it honestly rather hilarious and clever for them to do that. I wasn't offended by it but just rather shocked abiout in a positive way.
  11. Hey guys, I know it's not like me to talk about topics like this one out of the blue but I was thinking this: The other day in my art class, my friend was telling me about how brock from pokemon was black because of his faired colored skin complexion but I proved him wrong by saying that Brock is actually Japanese because in the Japanese version of the show, his name is Takeshi, which is a Japanese name. Therefore, Im convinced that he's Japanese. So I was just wanted to know whats your opinion about this? Do you think he's black or is he Japanese to you? I hope that we can have a little fun with this and I hope that this topic doesn't get locked to early because it violates the MW rules P.S I'm black so I don't think this topic is racist
  12. Seto, I agree with you about not liking the Kai versions of the Basara and Mylene's Valks because they look more Gundamish adn Transformer like but I think it was because he did this to make them stand out from the other variants. But I still see no clear evidence that SK' valk battroid designs are starting to resemble Gundam's despite the fact that he was and still is a fan of Gundam. His VF's pretty much still stay true to its Macrossy look and I doubt that he would suspiciously make them resemble Gundams
  13. Yeah Radd I see and you're right that the M2 valks are too sci-fi 'ish and stylized but thats because M2 takes place farther in the future than Macross (80 years after the first space war) so you would pretty much expect them to look more sci-fi'ish. But in terms of SK's valks, they were inspired by modern day fighter planes so they look rationally like them. Their design aesthetics of SK's valks transition back and forward also sometimes containing a combonation of both boxy and pointy to smooth and streamlined bodies with some of the valks Seto mentioned in his detailed comparison. But then again when I think about, if SK's VF's had the same transformation sequence and battloid componet layout like the VF-1, it would be pretty lame as I would want a new transformation sequence for all fighters. Each VF's different transformation layout is what what makes them uinque.
  14. Oh now I see, I just looked at the word to literally straight forward and assumed that aircraft should "walk" around on the ground only and not for something else. But now I get what you're saying.
  15. You're right Knight 26 about the gerwalk mode needing some kind of wing. Because when you think about it, "walk" in gerwalk means that the VF should solely and only walk in this mode even though you rarely see the VF's do this. Most of the time you see them flying around or hovering in this mode, but rarely do you see them walk.
  16. As far as I'm concerned about Seto Kaiba's detailed comparison and description of SK's valks and the Macross 2 ones, it was sort of on par with my topic explanation about SK redesigning the VF-1 to make it look more contemporary. IMO design aesthetic-wise about the VF-2 (both variants), these aircraft seem to bear more resemblance to the original VF-0 and VF-1 (aside from the fact that they retain their F-14 Tomcat like appearance) than the VF-11. For example, take their transformation sequence and the way how the battloid components are still in the exact position where the arms are tucked in between the engine nacelles and the battroid head is below the cockpit in fighter mode just like the original VF-1. Although the VF-11 consists of an F-14 like design just like the M2 valks, it's not perfeclty 100% consistent with the VF-1 and VF-2. It's more like 95% consistent with the VF-0, VF-1, AND VF-2. The 5% of the VF-11 that doesn't show consistency with these valk's would be the battroid head postition in the VF-11's fighter mode. The head is behind the fuselage of the fighter. If the head was below the cockpit like the VF-0 and VF-1 was, then it would be 100% consistent with these fighters. Sure the VF-4 also shows some form of deterioration from the VF-1 but that's because of it's new airframe design where Seto says that it's somewhat of a flying wing design and also the nose front section was taken from the VF-1. So therefore, I agree with Seto Kaiba that the M2 valk designs maintain there resemblance to the original VF-1. To back this up as well, that would be like taking Mikoyan-Gurevichs MIG-25 AND MIG-31 and saying that the F-18 is consistent with it's design. How can the F-18 be related to MIG-25 and MIG-31 if they don't maintain key design aesthetics like the boxy air intakes boxy fuselage area and large engines that both of the MIG-25 and MIG-31 have. Also Radd, when you say that the VF-4 is more consistent with the Macross timeline continuity, that's because the VF-4 is officialy part of SK's timeline and the VF-2SS is not.
  17. Hey guys, sorry to interupt your discussion on the movie Sky Fighters but have you heard of this movie called Final Mission? It's an old movie I rented from blockbuster video 8 years ago when I was 11 years old. It's like Top Gun with a little dash of crime drama in it. It's about an F-16 fghter pilot that tries to avenge the death of his wingmen after their base general makes them commit suicide by initiating a suicdie code into their special psychoneurological flight helmets. It was pretty decent and I liked the plot to the movie as well. Have you guys also heard of this movie called Stormrunner or Stormrider I think? That movie was pretty good too. It was about an F-117A Nighthawk pilot that tries to rescue his daughter from an evil general. The action scenes were very suspenseful and I would recommend this movie to all of you guys.
  18. Well I was actually talking about fans posting up their stats about their own personal variants of their favcorite Valks with their own features and weapon systems. Sure, I know that a vast majority of you Macross fans in general are in your 20's and 30's and you guys are far too old for that, but I wasn't talking about love relationships between characters or anything I was just talking about personal VF variant stats. I apologize if this may sound too "childish" of me to start this topic but I was just curious. Also, I'm not overly obsessed with anime like those otaku (obsessed, socially inept, idiotic fanatic hobbyists) are. I most of the time don't read anime fanfics because 95% of the time, they're usually yaoi fanfics done by lolicon's (girls with extreme fetishes for anime and manga).
  19. I just noticed recently that this Fanworks section doesn't seem to have a topic where anybody is posting up links to their VF fanfic's. So this makes me wonder, are you guys honestly tired of VF fanfiction? If so that's OK because like I said before, in this section that all I see is just Macross related art (nothing wrong with that) and nothing else. On a personal note, I like to read other's VF fanfiction but I'm lazy to write my own. I know that I'm not supposed to ask a question like this for help and all of you froum administrators can feel free to pin this topic of mine for violating the rules but I was just curious thats all.
  20. I'm 18 going on 19 in June. But when I'm at work at UPS, I feel like I'm in my 30's
  21. Really? I just saw a few screenshots of it on google and it looked pretty tight to me but if you say so JB0. I need to play it for myself if the game is ever emulated to see if it really sucks.
  22. Has anybody played this game called Vanguard Ace for the PC? It's a pretty good shooter despite the fact that I played the one level demo. The graphics were a little fuzzy but other than that, it's pretty good. I also have been dying to play Psyvariar, can anybody tell me more about it?
  23. Man I remember about three years ago when I had my old computer I had games like Raiden 2 and Raycrisis. I downloaded this one unique game called Idinaloq, which had anime style girls and rather odd looking space ships but other than that it was a good game. There's lots of shooters I still haven't played but I am going for a goal to download and play all shooters there ever was.
  24. I decided to start this thread after I just got through playing Raystorm for my PSX. So to get things started off, Heres' a list of space shooters that I actaully have (No ROMS) Gigawing-Dreamcast Gekioh(Shienryu)-PSX Strikers 1945 2-PSX Raystrom-PSX I look forward to all of you guy's posts about space shooters and can have a good time with this topic of mine.
  25. When I think about it, not all of the fighters look so bad in gerwalk mode because IMHO, i think they look better if they didn't have their arms out when in gerwalk mode. As for me, I think tha t the VF-19 looks good in gerwalk mode, with or without it's arms. Can't explain what exactley is about that makes it look good in gerwalk.
