  1. Pilots arrived yesterday. UN Spacy + Rebels.

For anyone reading, they are very well packed (quite cleverly actually). Some have a *tiny* amount of flash, and the detail is so crisp! These guys are going to come up really well, I'm sure. A big thanks goes out to you Petar, I'm grateful for your effort and really impressed by your fine-scale sculpting. Great work.

  2. Got the weathering on the Konigs Krote finished. Still trying to decide on a suitable display base. Want to do something with some figures on it jus no idea what.

Wow. That is the best armour weathering I have ever seen. Wow. Any chance of a couple of quick pointers to share your method please? Opposite colour for paint chips, drybrushing and pastels to tone the colours down? It looks amazing and is my new favourite completed kit. Well done.

OK, so everyone's like "look at the cool model of a WWII German Tiger (pick your variant) or look at this cool model of this..." I think the models ARE COOL, however (yes there's a however), what a about collecting pieces of the real thing? This is what I cleaned up last week for my collection (which is getting bigger). Once again, I'm not dogging anyone's models!

My grandfather (WW2 veteran) surrendered a few interesting collectables a few years ago. Australia declared a firearm buy-back/amnesty period following the banning of semi-automatic rifles. My granddad walked into the local police station and turned in a couple of hand grenades he'd had in the basement since the war. Yes, we're talking 50 year old, LIVE pineapple grenades. He wasn't impressed by the desk officer's response when it became clear they were live. My ol' pop just didn't get it!

  3. Placed an order alreday yesterday, two thumbs up for the great work!

The pilots will help me complete a Club-M VE-1 kit I have! I will need to do some modifications but should be very straight forward.

Me too. And a set of SW pilots :)

    I'm very excited.

  4. Well due to the tragedy engulfing the eastern seaboard of Australia, my weekend has not gone as planned, and I wont be ready for orders quite yet. Apologies for the delay, but I hope your thoughts are with the families in Victoria. As for me, my thoughts are with central coast of NSW. My family is okay, but we have people who have lost their homes.

Anyway, enough with the doom and gloom, even though I can't take orders yet, I can give you some new pics. Should be ready to take orders next week - apologies for the delay, but its unavoidable.

Glad to hear your family is ok Petar. We used to holiday in Marysville. I think the figures are around 65 fatalities now - those pictures on the news were horrible. If there are any believers out there in MW land, there are a lot of people that could use your prayers.

  5. She looks very cool with the orange helmet and flightsuit! Actually this is the first time I've seen her with paint on. Thanks Sean.

I cannot wait to see this one finished, the Macross world needs more trainers, in my opinion!

+1 for great paintwork on Minmay. Well done.

  6. Dude, wow.

How did you do the grey on the front of the PzIV? Is it hand painted or salt weathering or something else? I wish I was still at Newcastle so I could take a look in person! Great work.

On the SD (dumb question time): that is thin styrene you're adding all over the deck, right? It looks very nice and I'm surprised the original kit didn't have something similar already?!

    Looking good mate.

  7. Yeah, it's pretty rude to go recasting kits that are still commercially available.

    I'd go visit NeoGrade.

In Neograde, this kit it's Sold out Far ago... I had no option, and I purchase a recast over a year ago. Too many bubbles and some fit issues, but it will look great when I'll finish it (at least, that's what I think!) :p

Cheers for the correction. Looks like HK is the way to go.

And your kits ALWAYS look great :D

  8. Well i hate to burst your bubble but something that big in reality would have mold lines on its track they would be cast metal. Real tanks today have them. Im not dome weathering it yet either. I work in layers too remember. Theres yet another layer of mud and dirt to go .

Mate we're all friends here. Go easy with people. If you just wanted a doggie treat and a pat on the head for your hard work, please just say so.

  9. Thanks gents! The bases are resin purchased from http://www.back2base-ix.com/

He's an Australian guy, so hurrah for decent postage. He makes LOTS of different styles and sizes. I think the ones in the pics are "rubble" or "ruins". I've also bought some matching ones for my dreads and terminators.

It should still be worth checking out for the US/UK guys out there, because the Aussie dollar is terrible right now. The bases in the pic should work out around US$0.40 each or so.

  10. Ben,

Here's a couple of quick 'n' nasty shots I took a few minutes ago of my very first 40K minis. These are the AoBR guys with some very minor bits and pieces changed. It's all good learning for me (whaddaya mean BRUSH paint!?). I need to sort out how to paint eyes correctly if I'm ever going to buy some cadians!

White balance and shadows are a bit off, but you get the idea.
