  1. This picture makes me want to buy CM'S Ride Armor
  2. I'm still contemplating whether to get the Movie Color Version.
  3. Maybe it's really "Ley" because the Japanese usually pronounce L as R. It's just like when you have a Japanese pronounce a quote by Imelda Marcos to the Filipino people, "I love you very much!" It'll most likely end up sounding like, "I rob you very much!"
  4. shantastic had the following posted on Robot Japan: ...I received my Rand from Angolz last week and was quite disturbed to see this sticker on the bottom right corner of the box: This would seem to explain the brittle / easily breakable quality of some of the parts. Had I known that Toynami's grubby hands were somehow involved I definitely would have stayed away (I say this almost assured that I will pickup a Toynami Beta. Hahaha.) Haven't yet had time to open up my MH Cyclone, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get thru one transformation without breaking something. Wish me luck.
  5. I also wondered what that piece is for. Anyway, it's the kickstand that attaches to the hole on the bottom of either the left or right railguard which allows the bike to stand up.
  6. The vintage Gakken rider looks like a Zentraedi.

    Macross Revoltech

This isn't a Revoltech, but it should get Macross World members excited. Thanks to pinoy78 at RJ! (Oops! This has already been posted on another thread. Sorry... Anyway, how do I deleted this?

    Macross Revoltech

domu and pinoy78 just posted this info and pictures on Robot Japan. continued...
  10. I saw this at a toyshop in Hong Kong. Besides the Roy's VF-1S, the Hikaru VF-1A is a custom. I wonder where the part for the VF-1A's head came from.

    Help with Valk ID

I already have a tough time catching up with the recent Yamato VF-1 and VF-0 releases to afford this 1/24 Valk model. (I also collect SOCs and vintage Chogokin toy robots.) Anyway, I took the photos since I had a feeling this Valk was rare (and thus expensive). The shop seems to concentrate on Macross-related merchandize, so it's most likely the proprietor knows the value of this item. On the other hand, I'm sure there's someone out there with enough money to make the toyshop owner happily part with this Valk.

    Help with Valk ID

Thanks for answering my inquiry, ghostryder. The photo from the link you provided shows that it's indeed the one that I saw last Sunday, except the wings have been attached. Here's a clearer photo of the assembly instruction sheet. Anyway, I'd have to be an expert model builder to get this ARII 1/24 scale Valkyrie to look like this. Hmm, 1/24... do you think the CMS figure Roy figure can fit inside the cockpit? I saw it on the 3rd level floor of the Richmond Shopping Centre 皆旺商場. Because it's been discontinued and also of the colossal scale of this ARII Valkyrie, I suppose the toyshop owner would charge a hefty amount for it. In any case, please post pics if any Macross World Forum members manage to acquire it.

    Help with Valk ID

Last Sunday I went to Hong Kong and saw this Valkyrie Fighter on display at a toyshop in Mongkok. It was noontime and the shop was still closed, so I couldn't ask the shop owner for info on this item. Anyway, I'm curious about this Valkyrie, especially with its size. (Notice how its bigger than the the box for the SOC GX-36 Ideon.) Do any Macross World Forum members have any information on this item (e.g., manufacturer, product material, release date, current price, etc.)? Thanks!
  14. I'm looking for a replacement antenna for the booster unit on the Yamato 1/60 VT-1 Super Ostrich. Thanks.
  15. Thanks everyone! Now I'm happy with my Super Stealth VF-1J. BTW, I forgot to mention that Mr. Wang also gave me a Roundmover Pack for free (Yup, that's right - "free!") saying that it was for all my troubles. Actually, I don't know what to do with my free Roundmover Pack. I sold my 1/12 Scopedog a month ago. Well, I can always get another one. Hmm, change that idea. I'll just try to sell the Roundmover Pack to buy more Valks.
  16. On page 11, I complained about several qc problems that I encountered with my Super Stealth VF-1J. Anyway, I've been depressed about this ever since I bought this Yamato product three weeks ago from a local toyshop. Although the manager had let me exchange several other purchases in the past, this time he wouldn't let me saying that the qc problems with my Stealth VF-1J are common. I told a recent toy-collector acquaintance about my situation, and he suggested that I just contact the Taiwanese importer of Yamato products. My friend's rationale was that if you buy a toaster and it doesn't work, you should be able to take it back to the store and exchange it or get a refund. Well, my Stealth Valkyrie isn't exactly a toaster, but it sure costs a lot. Anyway, the box for the Super Stealth Valk's had a sticker of the local distributer company with its customer after-sales telephone number. I contacted the company and got a hold of a representative, a Mr. Wang. At first, I told him that I bought two Yamato products, the VF-0S and Super Stealth VF-1J, but had problems with one of them. Much to my initial disappointed, Mr. Wang explained to me that the company was out of stock for this product. Instead, he offered a Yamato 1/12 Red Shoulder Scopedog with an extra Roundmover in exchange. I accepted his offer, but told him that I wish I could get the same item - the Stealth Valk. "What... Stealth Valk? I thought you said you wanted to exchange the 'Zero'," he said. AnywayIt turns out that the company had an extra Stealth VF-1J and offered to exchange it for my defective one, that is, if I only wanted to keep the Super/Strike parts because they ran out of the Super Stealth VF-1J. Yesterday, I went to the company to pick up my Stealth Valk. Other than the usual minor paint imperfections, my new Stealth Valk is close to perfect. There are no problems with the wing flaps, legs, or nose cone. Now, my Stealth Valk is proudly displayed with the rest of my other Valks in my display cabinet.
  17. I bought my Super Pack 1/48 Scale Stealth VF-1J from a local toyshop in Taipei. Anyway, I have similar QC problems that's reported by Graham. The toyshop where I bought mine says the QC problems with my Stealth VF-1J are common and that I should just fix it myself. Well, I can't live with the QC problems (minor as they are) for a toy with a US$200 price tag. A fellow toy-collector suggested that I contact the local distributor for Yamato toys and exchange my Super Pack Stealth VF-1J. I mean, if a customer buys a toaster and it doesn't work, he or she should be able to exchange it or at least get a refund. I've looked at other boxes of the Stealth VF-IJ in other local toyshops and noticed that some have the stubs that connect the flaps on the wings are exposed. There is usually a chip with one of the flaps. This is the case with my Stealth VF-1J. The missles on the Strike parts also fall off easily with the slightest touch. In addition, the very first time I transformed my Stealth VF-1J, the legs disconnected from the hinges. It's either there wasn't any glue or the part is just very loose. Tomorrow is Monday here, so I'll see about contacting the local distributor and exchanging mine. I'm crossing my fingers. If they're reluctant to exchange it, I'm going to fax Yamato's After-Sales Department.
  18. Does anyone have problems with the wing flaps of their Stealth VF-1J? With mine, the wing flap on the left wing keeps popping off.
