Judging from the size of the pilot figure, these smashed up cars are about the same scale as the 1/100 HMR Valkyrie.

  4. I have several 1/48 Valks and two 1/60 Ver.2 released so far. I don't think I'll ever give up the 1/48. I mean, I like the 1/60 Ver. 2, but I still remember four years ago when I saw a Roy 1/48 in Battroid mode on display at a Hong Kong toyshop. I thought that was the coolest thing ever and wanted it so badly, but it was too expensive then since Yamato hadn't reissued. It wasn't until another trip to Hong Kong that I finally got to own one. I think if the 1/60 Ver. 2 was released first and then later the 1/48, then collectors would go for the 1/48.
  5. What's the word on the weathered version of the Yamato Destroid? I'm going to Hong Kong next month and I'm wondering if I should pick up this first release. Anyway, thanks in advance for any info on the weathered version.
  6. I have a similar experience that happened to me twice. Both happened around summertime. The first one took place about two or three years ago at a hobby model shop where I had pulled out a box for the MSiA Psycho Gundam from one of the shelves. When I did this, I noticed numerous little white grains, which looked like rice krispies, were stuck on the side of the box or spilled onto the shelf. I didn't mind these things at first, but I cringed when I saw that the little white grains were squirming and wriggling on the shelf. When I looked at the box in my hand, more of these tiny wriggling critters were crawling out of the opening that they had chewed out of the box's side. That was an awfully disgusting sight, I tell you. It turns out that these creepy critters were termite larvae chewing on the cardboard MSiA box. Anyhow, I put the box back on the shelf and informed the shop owner about this situation. She then took the box down and wiped the larvae off the shelf. Eventually, the hobby model shop did extensive renovations. I don't know if it was because of termite infestation or just to give the shop a new look. The other similar creepy-crawly critter experience was more personal and happened around summer of last year. I had moved into an old studio apartment where I lived and gradually filled with my toy collection. During the six-month's time that I had lived there, I noticed that the hallway's wall surface outside my room was gradualy warping with rough spots and bumps spread on certain areas. The wall was coated with some kind of plastic lining, and I thought that water seepage from my bathroom, which is directly on the other side of this wall, had something to do with the bumps. As I was coming home one evening, I opened my door and was about to walk inside the small entrance space of my room when I noticed white grains stuck on the lower side of the door. I bent down to have a closer look. "F***! Damn it!" I screamed. I was surprised, disgusted, and angry all at the same time. From my experience at the hobby model shop, I knew exactly what these white grains were - termites and their larvae. However, it was difficult to believe that it was happening at my place. This was worse, though - I mean, a thousand times worse! As I stood there, more termites and larvae were spilling from the hole that they'd chewed out from the door frame and were pilling up and crawling all over the floor. I couldn't avoid stepping on some of them. I took a box of tissues and proceeded to wipe them from the floor and the side of the door and then dumped the tissues with the termites in a plastic bag. I used up an entire box of tissues doing this. Yet, they continued to emerge from the hole, so I took what was closest at hand, some cellophane tape for my toy boxes, and taped up the hole with several layers. In the end, the hole taped up with transparent tape looked like a glass panel of an ant farm, or formicarium, except with termites inside. This got me curious about the source of these multitudes of termites, so I went outside and poked the bumps on the plastic lined wall outside my room with a broomstick. What I saw was like a scene from a horror movie. The plastic lining peeled away revealing another thick wooden panel infested with termites and their larvae! It was the middle of summer, and the termites had gotten really active. From this opening, hundreds of adult termites crawled out and then flew all over the hallway. I quickly got back inside my room and closed my door lest the adult termites fly inside. I immediately called my landlord, and she just told me to spray the wall with insecticide. "Yeah, like that's gonna make these things go away!" I told her. Well, to make a long story short, she offered me another vacant studio apartment down the hall, so I moved my things out the next few days. I had to move during the day since the termites were somehow less active during daytime. Eventually, I moved out of that apartment after my lease contract had expired.
  7. MH made improvements with the redesign of the elbow joints on the Yellow Belmont figure. Indeed, Yellow Belmont\'s head without the helmet can\'t move much or not at all. Worst of all, the head inside the helmet looks like a shrunken head.
  8. I bought the MH Yellow Belmont Blowsuperior this week. The Blowsuperiors wheels are indeed bigger than the Stick and Ray ride armors. Anyway, I know MH reissued the latter ones, but I don't know if they came with bigger wheels. MH changed the size of the kickstand to compensate for the new wheels' height. The Blowsuperiors wheels can be fitted to the VR-052.

  12. QUOTE (chowyunskinny @ Aug 6 2008, 08:28 AM) Guess Yamato heard about the trickiness with releasing the swingbar from the nose section they created a page about it Thanks! This really helps. I was thinking that my V.2 1/60 would only make four complete transformations before I somehow break this lid part underneath the nose. I mean, the third time I transformed it from battoid to fighter made, it took me more than 40 minutes since I was being careful not to damage this part.
  13. He's the child of my girlfriend's elder sister. Umm, I didn't notice that. He's just one and a half months old, so he probably hasn't grown a fifth digit on his right hand due to a glitch in the cloning process. Either that, or Roy got drunk and accidently blasted it with his gunpod. JK. Regarding the V.2 1/60 VF-1S, I went through the transformation thinking that it was very similar to the 1/48 Valkyrie. Anyway, I must have pushed down too hard on the metal piece next to the jet intakes, thus making a depression in the plastic. Did anyone encounter this while transforming their V.2 1/60? Just as almost everyone has been saying, this Valk is really tight. Well, I might buy another one without the Super & Strike parts and leave it in fighter mode. This Valk really looks nice in Gerwalk mode.
  14. Greeting from Taipei! This evening I picked up the 1/60 VF-1S with Super & Strike Parts at a local toyshop, and I've just transformed it from fighter to battroid mode as well as attached the Super & Strike parts. Fortunately, I didn't find anything broken. I was going to select on this poll "Mine is Perfect! Thank you Yamato!"; however, I don't want to thank Yamato. I mean, they've earned enough of my money reselling the same toy to me multiple times - including this VF-1S release. Anyway, the best poll option for me to select would be "Mine is not broken or perfect but I have complaints." Basically, I have three complaints. The first is where factory workers nipped parts off the sprue but then cut off too much and made scratches or hollow depressions on the plastic. These aren't too noticeable unless one really looks closely. The second is the quality of the plastic is much softer than the kind used on the 1/48 Valkyrie. Try attaching and detaching the wing missiles and you'll understand what I mean. Lastly, transforming this smaller Valkyirie is complicated, and I don't like how several pieces can come off, namely the head. Otherwise, I like the look of this new Valkyrie. Zentraedi Baby
  15. Did ya'll check this review of the 1/60 VF-IS? (Delete if this link has already been posted. The speed of replies to MW posts is really fast. It's hard to keep up.) http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/yamato/60vf1s/01.html
  16. BTW, if you're helping MW'ers get these, doesn't that mean you have to buy multiples of the Macross Chronicle magazine just to get the coupon for each purchase? In Taiwan, some dealers of these Japan-only exclusives provide the magazine along with the item.
  17. The two valks (DYRL VF-1S with Super & Strike Parts and TV Ver. VF-1A Max) are Macross Chronicle magazine exclusive items. This means one has to buy the Macross Chronicle magazine and mail in the coupon to purchase either one of these exclusive items.
  18. Thanks for answering my query. I was in a rush to get to the airport and should have known better to check for double tape before buying this GSM Tachikoma. Anyway, for anyone buying toys at Hong Kong's Mong Kok and Yaumatei areas, watch out for the dealers there. They pass off second-hand stuff as new. This is the second time this has happened to me.
  19. I bought the GSM Tachikoma in Hong Kong a few days ago. Anyway, I don't know if this is limited only to my GSG Tachikoma, but when I opened the box, I found that the main body, back pod, and most of the parts were lathered with funky-smelling wax. My fingers kept slipping while opening the back pod. Please let me know if this is the same situation with your GSG Tachikoma. Thanks.
