  1. Love the "new" car, it's one of the only Honda's i'd ever own (as a sports car), there's a lot of fun aftermarket parts for that car, you have any plans for her?
  2. X-Arcade! that's who i was trying to think of, i know they make one of the best ones on the market, but they're WAY expensive, so it's better to just build your own. Also to chime in on the CRT vs LCD, like mikeszekely said, LCD's have come a long way from their introduction and can display deeper blacks and stronger color accuracy than ever before. However, to get the best viewing experience from your LCD, you could always invest in a color calibration tool for your LCD. A lot of manufacturers preset their monitors to their settings to help hide its inherent weaknesses (Green in particular is the hardest color for LCD's to display accurately) a color calibrator helps you get the best visual settings for your tv/monitor but a really good one can run you some serious cash.
  3. i personally liked the 996 better than the 997, I like the odd headlights because i immediately think of the Porsche GT1 and that car is the sexiest Porsche ever built (it trumps the Carrera GT in my book). The only current lineup Porsche i like is the Cayman, it's not a looker in magazines, but on the street they look fantastic, it just needs some RUF treatment to run with the big boys, that's all. The 928 is also a major winner in my book and should have gotten a revamp instead of this sedan thing. As far as i'm concerned, anything that deviates from the original Porsche design looks good to me, the fast Beetle look just doesn't do it for me, the original design had its time in the spotlight, but they need to move on to better things at this point (a la Cayman).
  4. There is one company that makes arcade quality joysticks, (their target market was the MAME crowd) unfortunately i can't recall who it is and i'm too lazy to go through my bookmarks to find it. The other option is to build it yourself from arcade grade materials (again, too lazy to go through bookmarks, i'll probably do it tomorrow).
  5. Do you own an S14 or S15 Silvia? I love the S15's, I'm finding work arounds to get one in legally.
  6. twin turbocharging a lambo should be no different than heffner twin turbocharging the Ford GT or the Gallardo, the biggest concern for mid engine vehicles will always be heat, so as long as they can keep the motor running cool, there's no reason why it shouldn't exist.
  7. You can turbo and supercharge a car, at some point though, the compressed air from both a turbo and supercharger becomes too much for the induction system and you make the BOV or DV do a lot of work in getting rid of the excess compressed air. It also isn't very practical from a production and maintenance stand point. However, VW built a turbo and supercharged motor, but they did their's differently, by having the supercharger pick up the low end slack and then used a y-pipe to bypass the supercharger air once the turbocharger had spooled up. It makes the purpose efficient, but is a lot of extra hardware for less than stellar results. What would help more, is having a direct injected motor with an appropriately sized turbocharger, since DI will allow for higher compression and give you the low end torque and a good sized turbo will get you that high end power you need once you get to the mid range RPM's. In the traditional sense, a supercharger and turbocharger are counter productive, however, if you were to use a supercharger and turbocharger with a DI higher displacement motor, it might give you some good punch, though you'd still have a lot of wasted air once the turbo gets spooled up. Twin supercharging isn't anything new, if you look at the auto union and mercedes cars from the silver arrow era (30's/40's) then you'll see they had twin supercharged 600hp motors over 70 years ago. You can really only do twin supercharging for a V motor by putting a supercharger on each intake side of the cylinder (so one superchargers per cylinder bank), but i'm not sure if it's really beneficial when you compare twin superchargers vs a single supercharger.
  8. or like the last person who had virus trouble, run hijackthis and post the log, then a few of us can just tell you what files are bad and what to get rid of.
  9. what a retard, horrible waste of an excellent car.
  10. What is more funny is that the Mustang with the Japanese motor in it outperforms that same Mustang with its genuine muscle motor in it. I still dont' understand the arguments of "blasphemy" against putting a japanese motor in an American car (not here, but on other car forums). Germans have helped the Japanese build motors (Porsche helped Subaru get their H4's off the ground for example) and the Japanese have helped Americans with motors for a long time (Honda lent GM their 3.5L V6 is another example). A motor is a motor, and if one has better power to weight than the other then it's obviously worth dropping it into something that's worth the effort.
  11. That was my dads first (real) car, but his used the 428SCJ, so it was pretty fast out the gate. Unfortunately for him, he grew up in a home with 5 other brothers (and three sisters) and his younger brother wrecked it while my dad was traveling in the military.
  12. that's no joke! That person did a fantastic job
  13. the animation is harsh, but if you can make it to at least the fifth episode, there's a lot of stuff that goes over your head as a child but is really clever as an adult.
  14. I decided to rewatch this series on hulu to see if the season 1 DVD was really worth buying. Shoddy animation aside, this series is really fantastic, the writing is great, and the real stand out is the voice acting. I kind of hope the DVD sales generate some buzz at Universal, maybe Playmates will decide to release some limited edition action figures to coincide with the DVD's. What i'd really like to see is a revamp of this series with the same writers, producers and voice actors but paired with a top notch animation studio, now that would be something to see.
  15. Ninja Warrior is Sasuke in America. Unlike MXC where the whole show has a comedic dubbing, Sasuke is literally translated with a mix of voice over and subtitling. I think Ninja Warrior in the states airs like one season behind Sasuke in Japan.
  16. The challenger is a pig, it needs 900hp to keep up with comparable cars in its class. The car is beautiful, no doubt, but there's no reason it needs to weigh almost 4000lbs, there's no special drive train or ridiculous luxury options that justify its weight.
  17. You're a bit late to the party, but none the less, this is an AWESOME show. Makoto Nagano is the greatest Ninja alive! He's also a really good sport, he already won the competition once, and he actually won it a second time but after his second victory he told the judges he performed an illegal move on the third round and disqualified himself.
  18. "alternate" eh... maybe people die in this one
  19. it would be intimidating if it had a 20B cosmo motor in it.
  20. I agree, though it's highly unlikely Nissan will ever bring over the S15, we can all dream can't we. I think out of Toyota, Mazda, Honda and Nissan; Nissan and Mazda are the most likely to be able to "bring back" a car faithfully. Mazda had a rough start with the RX-8 but i think if they were to bring back the RX-7 with a fully backed team (similar to Nissan and the GT-R) then i could see it easily reborn into something better/faster. Nissan could bring back the Silvia, but since they're not using their SR20DET they'd have to develop or upgrade a motor to meet emissions; as far as style, i doubt anything (released by Nissan) is going to be as beautiful as an S15, but performance will more than make up for looks. That's not to say that Toyota and Honda can't make good cars, but they've both been out of the sports car game for awhile and plans for the new Supra and NSX have been scrapped multiple times.
  21. dreamweaver is 400 new 200 upgrade if you want CS4, you can get CS3 for 150 or so, so it might even save you money to buy CS3 and then upgrade to CS4 for 200.
  22. I still remember the anticipation of getting my license. I spent the entire summer restoring a junker 85 GT Mustang with my dad, we just had the car painted a few weeks before i got my license, it was fantastic. The maiden voyage of the car with my piece of paper license (the actual plastic didn't come for 30 days) was absolutely awesome. Of course i had driven it a bunch of times with my dad pre-license, but a post-license sans-parent cruise is always so much more enjoyable.
  23. pretty much right, the only thing that set it apart was michael turner's eye candy illustrations and covers, story was never really that great.
  24. witchblade is getting a movie so it only makes sense for fathom to get a movie. Hopefully they do the character some justice otherwise Michael Turner will roll over in his grave
