  1. Just checked out Vitruvian Hacks (VH) on Boss Fight Studio's website (found via Google; not familiar with the business): VH has some pretty nifty figures. If my math is right, 1:18 scale yields figures ~4" tall? I'd be all over them if I were into tabletop fantasy gaming. And I couldn't find images for Battlestar Galactica figures, but I'll keep an eye out for them. Thanks!
  2. OMG. Time Rider, Time Bandits, and Buckaroo Banzai FTW! I lived on a Navy base back then. I would hound my older sisters endlessly until they took me to the Saturday matinee to watch whatever scifi/fantasy flick was playing. I loved those movies. I bet they won't stand the test of *time* for me, but you've inspired me to give them a shot this weekend. Many thanks, Lyle!
  3. TY! I could not agree more about figure sizes. I barely have space here in my 1000 sq. ft. house for my wife and me. I have to pick my battles, so to speak.
  4. I don't buy too much GI Joe these days - not unless I see a deal on some ARAH 3 3/4" O-ring figures (and/or equipment) like I used to collect back in the day (i.e., I haven't given the new Super 7(?) O-ring figures a look). I've been hearing folks heap praise on the Classified line for a long time now. What's your take on the materials and build quality of the line? P.S., nice Ross discount!
  5. Glad I got bored this morning and decided to check out forums I hadn't yet visited - because I've long wondered what the heck was going on with "anymoon.com" and "scorched earth toys." The origin of both still isn't clear, but I feel like the itch has finally been scratched. 🙂
  6. True re: when the funds leave my account, but I have enough financial discipline - just barely enough - to account for the future charge today. So I feel it but don’t yet have anything to show for it. 😅
  7. Hasbro Pulse just listed Overgear: https://www.hasbropulse.com/search?q=overgear Picked up 2 of each. Ouch. But Hasbro wasn't done with me. I then cancelled my Power of the Primes Predaking sitting in my Pile of Loot (BBTS) after watching a handful of lackluster YouTube reviews. I then immediately rolled the store credit into two anime-colored G1 Grimlocks. Expensive Friday for yours truly.
  8. TY! I’ve never heard of Popcultcha. I need to check them out. Mandarake and I are old pals, but I’ve not used them since the tariffs kicked in. I’m still on the fence with the MPG line. They look great and the cost is not too terrible, but I’m not sure I’m ready to start collecting yet another “masterpiece” line.
  9. This. I was still a grad student when the first Bayformers (my first time using that term) movie was released. My labmates knew I was stupid-obsessed with TFs, and since we all enjoyed playing hooky now and then, we caught the first matinee showing available. I still remember apologizing to them for making them suffer through that experience.
  10. Which vendor did you use and what was the out-the-door cost? [I shop from only a few vendors out of convenience/laziness so knowing this info may open my eyes to a better deal or a vendor I haven't heard of or didn't have enough data points to trust. I don't find this info intrusive or see it as a security issue myself, but I can appreciate folks who feel otherwise.]
  11. Same. The Transformers: The Movie and the introduction of a host of annoying characters in Season 2 ended my consumption of anything Transformers for years. While I still had great affection for transforming bots, I just couldn't get into the franchise's new directions. Pretenders? G1 characters with wild redecos? Pass. And all of this more or less coincided with Robotech's debut - a franchise centered on the one Transformer I wanted most, Jetfire - so my attention shifted to Robotech almost reflexively. I've tried countless times to watch every episode of the original Transformers animation, in chronological order or otherwise, and I just haven't been able to suffer through it.
  12. Same, and it was purely reflexive. Just beautiful. I nominate @mikeszekely for the Nobel Peace prize.
  13. Put Astrotrain back in the oven because that thing is half-baked at best. Hasbro either rushed the design team, hit their budget limit, or just stopped caring during development. How on God's green Earth is the 2026 Astrotrain so ridiculously inferior to - quite possibly - every mainline Astrotrain that came before? And I say that as someone who couldn't care less about Astrotrain. I saw a brief 2026 NY Toy Fair interview over the weekend between a YouTuber and Evan (of Hasbro). The YouTuber started to raise fans' negative reactions to Astrotrain's design, but he basically folded on the spot when Evan pushed back and asked for specific qualms - as if the figure's deficiencies aren't self-evident already! I understand why the YouTuber didn't press the issue further, but I really wish he had held his ground and punctuated his argument with specific examples. That said, it seemed like there was a nonverbal understanding between all parties that the figure has flaws, but the design is set and there's no use crying over spilled milk now.
  14. Hear hear. I hate loose, floppy figures so I hardly ever-to-never transform mine, but I'll attempt a transformation or two of the Pose+ since I've bought only one thus far: While I typically buy duplicates to have one dedicated to play, I exercised restraint here because of the price tag, which, should increase if tariffs haven't been rolled back by the time I ship mine. I might pick up another one down the line if it's as impressive as I hope. [Moved question that was -here- to PM.]

    1/55's revisited

2.0? I'd "Tanya Harding" everyone here and their grandmother to be first in line...so long as the modifications and updates preserve the spirit and build quality of the original. I'm really looking forward to the "missing link" VF-1J to be released this year.
  16. It's going to take me a minute to commit the variants to memory. To level set: AFC-01X Legioss Omega - purple/yellow AFC-01X Legioss Delta - green/orange AFC-01X Legioss Alpha - grey/white I was surprised by the unorthodox wing design of their Delta. I figured Toyrise et al. would follow the typical playbook and release three or four color variants of the traditional Legioss and that would've been the end of things. And being a new product line from a company unfamiliar to me, I didn't expect the second variant, the Delta, to be announced before I had my Omegas already in hand. And now the Alpha's been announced. I want to take this roll-out strategy as a sign that the companies behind this line have a lot of faith these figures will resonate with fans and move lots of units: I'm certainly doing my part to help. Bring on the rest of the Greek alphabet!
  17. I am buying the heck out of these. They just look like easy-to-transform fun. I don't have any fidget spinner-things and I've never really taken a liking to them, but if I'm right about the handling of these alphas, you're looking at my new office desk fidget toys. I have so many bots that I've never transformed even once, and yet I nearly always buy multiples just to have one to transform. I think I avoid transforming them because I know that any amount of manipulation is going to negatively impact tolerances, and I really do not like all of that floppiness. Given what these toys are and given their price point, I'm not gonna have a problem actually enjoying them as intended.
  18. If the wings from each variant are easily swapped, I will swap the "unorthodox" wings on the variants with more conventional wings from the initial purple/yellow release: I bought waaaaaay more purple/yellow ones than should be allowed for any one person, and it shouldn't be difficult to color match the paint.
  19. The shape of the wings is giving me a Klingon Bird of Prey (STTNG) vibe.
  20. Not sure where this post should live. After spending >100% item cost on shipping (tariffs) from Anime-Export, I wanna share any deal I find. HLJ taking 10% off ECMS shipping for a short time for USA customers.
  21. Picked up these from Anime-Export. Each was $63.44 for a total of $126.88. Shipping via DHL (2-day; was the only option I saw) was stupid ridiculous: $102.52 Picked up: This was my first taste of the tariffs. Not a fan.

    1/55's revisited

I'm definitely checking mine later today. How could this have escaped my attention? I'm not a fan of paint-on-plastic, so this would have disappointed me to no end if I'd noticed it.
  23. Same here. This means I have in-hand a Tread w/o a matching Legioss. 😕 Anyone interested in a MISB Tread? PM me if so. [I can’t recall if the Tread came sealed or not. Either way, it’s never been removed from the box, and it’s been in a climate-controlled storage until since delivery.]

    DX VF-27 Revival

I was afraid of that. I was hoping to suss out the valk's shoulder assembly status w/o transforming it just in case I decide to sell it MIB at some point. I guess I'll just list the pauldrons' assembly as "unknown" if I ever decide to sell it. It sure is a pretty valk, though.
