    1/55's revisited

Did you swap out the VF-1A head from an Origin of Valkyrie Max Super, or did you go the longer route and paint a VF-1S? If the latter, that's an excellent color match.
  2. Deja vu. Figured I'd go for 3 - one for each mode: Car, Bot, Retirement Fund. Color me surprised. Maybe Mattel realized they left gobs of money on the table with the Prime release and decided to produce more units this time?
  3. TY. From @Perxion’s photo alone I couldn’t figure out how everything mated.

    Talk about sticker shock. https://www.ebay.com/itm/177394308666?mkpid=0&emsid=e11021.m164380.l178264&ch=osgood&euid=4e8da61532ab41da9c56d713317cc4bd&bu=44778737508&ut=RU&osub=-1~1&crd=20250907032643&segname=11021&recoId=177394308666&recoPos=1
  5. I’m pretty certain I can fabricate those connectors. I’ll PM Perxion and see if we can work out something.
  6. 😀 Phenomenological experience is my answer as well, but I think psychology outweighs stature here: in my memories, my 1980s TFs are magnified in scale simply because it reflects their relative importance to me.
  7. Got my ML Sunstreaker and Cordon today from ShowZ. First impression: am I on crazy pills? These guys are tiiiiiiiiiiiny! For some reason, I expected them to be ~50% bigger than they are. Time and unfamiliarity playing tricks on me.
  8. Stellar! And I say that as someone who’s working - oh, so slowly - on my own design.
  9. 2 from me. It’s Takara so I’ll need them in hand before committing to buying more.
  10. I like what Toyrise has done to the rear of the cockpit. The official design has always looked awkward to me. I already put my Sentinels in storage, but I think I recall there being a giant opening (in the one unit I inspected) at the rear of the cockpit instead of a solid panel. That's nonsensical if I'm right. I need to take another look at them.
  11. The forearm gaps offend me, but I can fix those. I really like the color scheme. For a couple years now I’ve been toying with alternative palettes the would befit bases established on others planets. You know, headcanon stuff. This palette would go well for Neptune Base.
  12. The number of - let’s call them 5 mm mounting ports for the TFs fans - are out of control. I’ll buy 2 dozen units just to have enough guns to fill every port. 3 guns along each inner calf and thigh is gonna be stupid, but I wanna see it.
  13. Got mine a week ago from Amazon Japan. First time seeing one IRL; it’s a lot smaller and more delicate (e.g., see vertical stabilizers) than I expected, but it’s not exactly fiddly. And I’m grateful for that.

Beautiful! Which marketplace? I haven’t been following the usual 2nd-hand retailers lately.
  15. Kinda digging the color scheme.
  16. I scanned this with my MIRACO which is an all-in-one scanner with its own on board post -processing software. I did the bare minimum of post processing. I used an aerosol contrast agent on the non-white bits.
  17. Just a 3D scan. Plenty of modeling/tweaking left before I've got a finished template. Many thanks to Sildani for loaning his Tread missile set.
  18. TY for the share. If the AI translation was accurate… I loved hearing about the careful thought/consideration that went into particular design choices during development as well as (what appeared to be) genuine enthusiasm and pride in their effort. This is certainly a case of style vs. substance, but what we have here is a refreshing contrast to (and improvement upon, IMHO) Hasbro’s Transformers product reveals.
  19. It’s almost an RBF. Or maybe just smug as in, “my [censored: decency] don’t stink.” I’ve honestly never looked all that closely at their faces before now.
  20. You misunderstand/I wasn’t sufficiently clear. By “looked/felt like junk,” I am referring to the quality of the plastic itself rather than the toy’s design. [But don’t get me started on my copy’s (note: N of 1) abysmal tolerances.] I have the red one, and the surface sheen, translucence, heft, and in-hand-feel are the epitome of “disposable economy.”
  21. Ask and ye shall receive: Tekering brought receipts.
  22. The Evolution was the last Legioss I bought - maybe 5 years ago from Mandarake. In hand, it looked and felt like such a piece of junk. So much so that I actually disassembled it *completely* with the intention of 3D scanning/redesigning/reproducing a more faithful and sturdier toy. Pfft! With all of the pieces arrayed in front of me, including the incomprehensibly tiny and frail inner bits, I noped that plastic salad back into its box and dropped it off at my storage container where it still resides. I say all that to say this: the size and design of the POSE+ gives me hope for modding.
  23. TY. It’s so beautiful. I’m going to mod the heck out of it.
  24. If you are interested in a free replacement repro, send me a PM with your info as a reminder. I’ll print you a new one as soon as my legioss arrives - next month, I believe.
