I scanned this with my MIRACO which is an all-in-one scanner with its own on board post -processing software. I did the bare minimum of post processing. I used an aerosol contrast agent on the non-white bits.

Just a 3D scan. Plenty of modeling/tweaking left before I've got a finished template. Many thanks to Sildani for loaning his Tread missile set.

TY for the share. If the AI translation was accurate… I loved hearing about the careful thought/consideration that went into particular design choices during development as well as (what appeared to be) genuine enthusiasm and pride in their effort. This is certainly a case of style vs. substance, but what we have here is a refreshing contrast to (and improvement upon, IMHO) Hasbro’s Transformers product reveals.

It’s almost an RBF. Or maybe just smug as in, “my [censored: decency] don’t stink.” I’ve honestly never looked all that closely at their faces before now.

You misunderstand/I wasn’t sufficiently clear. By “looked/felt like junk,” I am referring to the quality of the plastic itself rather than the toy’s design. [But don’t get me started on my copy’s (note: N of 1) abysmal tolerances.] I have the red one, and the surface sheen, translucence, heft, and in-hand-feel are the epitome of “disposable economy.”

The Evolution was the last Legioss I bought - maybe 5 years ago from Mandarake. In hand, it looked and felt like such a piece of junk. So much so that I actually disassembled it *completely* with the intention of 3D scanning/redesigning/reproducing a more faithful and sturdier toy. Pfft! With all of the pieces arrayed in front of me, including the incomprehensibly tiny and frail inner bits, I noped that plastic salad back into its box and dropped it off at my storage container where it still resides. I say all that to say this: the size and design of the POSE+ gives me hope for modding.

TY. It’s so beautiful. I’m going to mod the heck out of it.

If you are interested in a free replacement repro, send me a PM with your info as a reminder. I’ll print you a new one as soon as my legioss arrives - next month, I believe.

Nice! The feature makes sense at this scale. Although I’ll prolly replace the fan cover’s “flip tab” with a more discrete…and I’m trademarking this 😜…“fingernail cavity.”

😃 God bless the design/manufacturing teams. This’ll make my job a bit easier.

If someone loans me a Tread missile for 3D scanning, I'll give them a free set of reproductions. Scanning should take no time at all, and I should be able to return-ship the loaner missile(s) within a day. I'm a stubborn perfectionist - if there is such a thing - so I don't know how long it'll take to translate the scans to a physical reproduction, but I'll come through on my promise. Just PM me.

Great pic! I love seeing them side-by-side. And your rotating Gatling gun?! Amazing! -
My Tread arrived from Nin Nin today. As with my Tread ordered from Amazon Japan, there was next to zero packing material inside the shipping box. Inner box was in perfect condition, however. I guess forsaking packing material is the new normal.
