-cock the head to the side, palm open flat, lean to one side. Balances easily on the leg because of the low center of gravity from so much mass being in the legs and being able to adjust the feet to any angle you need.

Damn, if you had another one you could do the DBZ Fusion Dance!

Sounds very involved* now I’m just using words that don’t make sense. What a night.

Well the good news is you didn't break the tabs on the upper part, so it should go back together and hold together forever after it gets fixed. I can post a full writeup tomorrow if you want. It sucks, but it CAN be fixed. I fixed mine and another person's off FB. If you don't want to attempt it yourself, I could even do it for you if you wanted to pay shipping both ways (and you would only have to send the leg). Always happy to help a MW member ^_^ that's what a community is for right?

So has anyone ever had this happen to them? Got a sealed VF-1S from a friend of mine and the left leg came off. Any clue on how to fix it?

@Shogun93 yeah, that happened to the first one I got. I feel like someone did a writeup on it. It seems some come from the factory not quite screwed in all the way, and they work themselves out and fall off.

Good news is it can be fixed. Bad news is it is a pain in the ass! The first thing you need to do is track down a very slightly (1mm) longer screw to screw past any stripped part and hold steady. Then you have to disassemble it, then either dremmel the knob off the hinge so it can open all the way, or drill a screw access hole in the metal. Then you put on some locktite reassemble it with the new screw and put it all back together. Search for the writeup, and if you don't find it let me know and I can put more details and pics here.

Was it the left leg? I think it is always the left leg.

Thanks to @RedComet I was able to curb my hunger for a DYRL Roy. It's a beauty to behold!

Glad you are liking it! You should get the extra decals next week or so :)

my wish is for a low visiblity colored movie roy.

We are actually working on a low-vis DYRL Roy as a custom future project. Will let everyone know when we start taking deposits for it.

Could be also to also extend the bullet travel through the gunpod and so provide greater accuracy and exit velocity.

Out of universe, it's probably just because it's a cool gimmick.

"nominal “effective range” is listed as 1,100m (1.1 kilometers) with a margin of error of 200-300mm (20-30 centimeters)" so even if we assume that's in space so that it doesn't need to account for wind or gravity, it's pretty damn accurate!

Want to spend a fun 15 minutes? Check out more gunpod info here: http://www.macross2.net/m3/macrosstechman/tech-gunpod.html

    Jackpot! Thanks!!!!:good::hail:

    Glad you finally found it!

What is the in-universe reason for the gun pod extending anyway? Closest I could get to something that made sense was talk about how the VF-0 version extended to vent heat. Are we all good with that for a reasonable explanation?

Either way looks pretty good. I like how the placard next to the Yamato says “The road to complete ?” As if asking “Have we made every possible variant NOW?!?” Haha

  8. So much drama on here about damaged boxes! Here’s an offer for anyone here. You can have this box for free, just pay actual shipping :D perfect if you need to replace your torn one! I am being serious, so PM me if you want it.

  9. So if anyone wants a new VF-1S Hikaru for the cheapest price possible, I would recommend this one. If you haven't used Buyee to buy something from Mercari before, you will get a coupon for 10,000 yen towards shipping, which will more than cover it. So yeah, it's basically a 1S for 27,000yen/$261 shipped to the USA via DHL. I would honestly add it to my own stockpile if I was eligible for the promo :D Hopefully this makes someone finally pull the trigger on one of these, as the price hasn't been lower since pre-release.

  10. I think one that is both never gonna be made officially and is easy enough to make a custom out of an existing figure is the Alaska Base 1A made out of the TV Max. And hell, you can name the pilot and squadron whatever the hell you want :D I am actually considering scrounging up some Max 1As for that purpose if @Anasazi37 would help with some decals and at least 3 more people would want one. Hell, every pilot name could be unique, so each would be a "one of one limited edition" haha

Anyone have any speculation on future releases?

They will announce a TV Hikaru 1S a day before the Roy November release, just to punish all the scalpers :p

Hey, I got bored during the lockdown and did this in photoshop, apologies for my noob PS skills. :p

@RedComet I'd totally be interested if you do a Max VF-1S. But if you do a 1A Alaska Base or Cavaliers, then just take my goddamn money!

I was going to just use the line art, but this popped up on google. I didn't even know it was a member on here, but I think you did a good job! It makes sense that the person who photoshopped this would want one IRL. Max is what we are working on right now, but willing to branch out in the future, already have Low-vis and DX G1 Jetfire Toy Deco on the radar, so Alaska base would be pretty easy once that shade of green is nailed down. Then it's pretty much just taking a 1A Max and painting green all of the blue plastic and get a new U.N. SPACY decal for each leg and come up with some fake pilot Ranks and names and new modex numbers. Still that's a few months off at least, as for the DYRL Max, you could get it before people get DYRL Kakizakis :D

  13. So, for anyone who wants one, I am starting work on a batch of custom DYRL Max 1S, much like the Roy 1S that you all saw @sqidd proudly display, based on the Hikaru 1S using the new and improved decals from @Anasazi37. (Starting them now, as the switch to new decals has caused a slight delay in finishing some weathered Roys) As before, you can get them with weathering and panel lining (and even get missiles and non-canonical SSP weathered and lined to match).  Pricing varies depending on what exactly you want done, but PM me and I will give you all the details. Here is an "artists rendering" (photoshop) of the final product sqidd style (no weathering), one of sqidd's Roys, and the weathered and panel lined Roys. Let me know if you have any questions B))

Looks like tonight Nippon Yasan has also re-opened their Roy pre-orders.... though still at their inflated 35,000 yen pricing.

Did it ever close at the relished $357?!?

I just noticed that in the official photos of the Tamashii Features 2020 event, where the Super Set was unveiled, Bandai conveniently left atmospheric-helmet-Roy out of the cockpit:

Looks like they could also use a Hikaru decal for the cockpit ^_^

DX for Macross seems to be more about how tall the battroid is so it's a relatively safe bet a VF-19Kai would be 1/60 scale.

And they have already made such a formidable figure with the Y/VF-19 Isamu figures in the 1/60 scale that you would think they could just modify that a bit. FWIW I thought it was more based off fighter nose to tail length than battroid height.

  17. 6 minutes ago, vlenhoff said:

I did appreciate the helmet-less Isamu in the DX  YF-19 though. That was a beautiful touch.

Looks like from Plus onward they just all always wear spacesuits anyway (except Basara, cause he's Special), which seems to make a lot mores sense since they can basically fly into space or enter the atmosphere as they like (those are some POWERFUL engines).

  18. 3 hours ago, vlenhoff said:

Actually, every DX valk should come with an open and closed helmets, like the DX YF-19 did.

Much better, every yellow/black VF-1S should include 4 figures: Roy TV, Roy DYRL, Hikkie TV space, Hikkie TV open helmet.

You can't really mix the DYRL and TV pilots, since the DYRL Cockpits have side controls "Gundam Style" but the TV cockpits have one center control stick, so pilots have totally different poses. It makes you wonder how they controlled both arms on TV, maybe the left arm just did its own thing automatically without human input? Still makes more sense than flying a jet/robot with a guitar...

  19. 41 minutes ago, Anasazi37 said:

Looks like he's geared up for atmospheric flight, not space flight. I'm still putting the Super set on it. And if someone did end up doing a recast of the pilot that I could paint as Hikaru, I'd be interested.

FWIW in the show Hikaru flies that 1S both in space and on Earth. Though I honestly forget if Super Parts are ever used in atmosphere. Anyone with a definitive answer on that?

If you want to play it safe, you could copy Max and paint it as Hikaru for a space suit.

For that price, one would think there would be after sales part replacement services.

funny story, after i clicked on the link and saw optimus, i tot, say that's a steal of a price for that size and detail.
Was calculating the exchange rate, when i noticed the price was only for a pre-order booking. oh well....:p

For $2400 the thing should either A) Transform at the push of a button or B) Walk around, talk and interact with its environment (cause they made a damn 24" tall Wall E a decade ago that could do that and it retailed for $250) What's even the point of all the gears?

  21. 1 minute ago, Corrinald said:

Very cool! The yellow looks great and I love the properly centered skull and crossbones.

    You didn't want any weathering?

Nope, which is why he is getting his before we get ours :D but don't worry, ours are that finished, just awaiting weathering!
