No kidding - We add a bit purple to the hair color and have Motoko as a guest appearance . As my second M9 is on its way, I can paint another Melissa anyway.

The hand is the Discovery redesign of the giant hand from "Who Mourns for Adonais?"

Ok, so here's the actual full Metal Build Cast of FMP in full colors:

Still need to do something about the eyes, in close-ups these look too much like black dots. But to do that I first got to find a better solution to place this tiny dots of colors without the risk of ruining the figures faces. My smallest brush its still too thick.

My first Gernsback came in today  But damn, it comes along with another two pilots to seat in the cockpit, too. So I have to paint again 6 figures in all. Going to be a tough job again 

I‘m always on the brink of panel lining and matte at least two of my YF-25. Now looking at your pics and seeing your results I definitely have to do a makeover to my valks, too. 

Just got email from NY for their 5% off New Year Promotion - So I ordered a second M9 right away. Bad for my wallet - good for display

I couldn't wait until the Gernsback arrives and started to paint the my existing figures. Had to skip to several episodes of FMP to find good examples for the uniforms.

Yeah, the pilot suits seem quite easy - all black with 6 color stripes.

I was quite surprised to see so many of them included.

Normally I don't like painting figures at this scale. Especially painting faces is a horror to me. But I'll try my best. 

Your remark about the figures just reminded me that the Laevatein also came with two figures. I think I start with those two and I'm just about to assemble them right now.

It is really nice from Bandai to include that much figures. With all three Arm Slaves (or even more) you can put up nice hangar scenes.

With some snow falling last night and looking at those big mechanical hands of the exo-skeleton suit of my FA Greifen Girl I finished some days ago a nice outdoor shooting setup came to mind (unfortunately the snow has already melted away way too fast).

Damn, my M9 is still on its way. But as it comes with so many figures I think I gonna paint them and Sousuke who came with Arbalest to get a more lively display. But now still missing Kaname .

@arbit: What about a different concept like the scissor mechanism of a lift table?

Thanks! I found your thread two weeks ago when I was looking for some ideas concerning the VF-2SS. You did an awesome job in remodeling the whole Valk to an accurate line art scale! For myself this would be a "little" bit too much 

Just finished my holidays work: Old Bandai kit VF-2SS Valkyrie II Nexx with SAP - the original kit of the 90's, not the reissue. Parts were all still in good condition, only the water slide decals are a bit yellowed and tend to break. but I kept them as it is a "vintage" kit. As for the painting details I tried to give it the look of the HMR VF-2SS.

I really love how the Valk looks in Battroid mode. But in Fighter mode the well known inaccuracy of this kit in comparison to the Anime line art is obvious.  The body is far too small in comparison to the SAP parts and all in all it is too bulky. Further, with the HMR VF-2SS aside the deviation of size is extremely visible. So this one will stay in Battroid mode forever!

Don't tell me. At least my first M9 is preparation in progress at NY... But I'm still struggling to get a second one for displaying both of types at once. And then there is this empty wallet due to earlier purchases the last weeks. Damn, there are way too many toys I want out there! And Santa Claus is no help either. His sack was much too small this year

Congrats! Yeah, beautiful bird, I have it permanently on display! Though I'd like to preserve the YF-30 in its box to prevent yellowing, I love to see it on the shelf even more.

At least Angela's beloved New Arhan arrived in time before Christmas

You are a lucky one. Never found „real“ Macross Kits in my modeling stores back in those days. And now that I could grab them I‘m lacking the time to build them.

That‘s similar how I came back to Macross/ Robotech. I watched Robotech on U.S. Army TV in B/W back in the 80‘s, then lost track until 2013 I got hands on my first DX VF-25. By now I realized what I have missed the last 30 years. And now toy and anime collection tend to go out of control  But I‘m so damn fine with that!

Btw: I watched Nadia the first time just a month ago. Never heard of it before. Since then I‘m struggling with me eherner to get a Nautilus Kit or not

Today my two VF-2SS Nexx and some crew and maintenance personnel arrived. Same Machines but more than 25 years difference of age. But the kit is still in perfect condition. 

Yes, I masked off the headlights. I went over it in several runs. After each run I changed the articulation to cover all spots.
