  1. Hate myself for throwing away all the boxes of my transformers when I was a kid. But during that time I did not value these as collectables
  2. I kept and will keep my boxes if it concerns collectable "toys". Boxes from kits I tend to throw away when I got out of space. I only keep those as well if I like the art work of the box.

I received no shipping info from CDJ yet. But just checked my account there and the status changed to "in shipping process". It seems CD Japan customers don't have to worry about not receiving there VF-31As any more
  4. Just put on the last layer of clear coat and finished my first Frame Arms Robot and 1/100 scale mecha - the GOU-RAI. As the original paint scheme of olive drab was far to dark for me I went for a real light grey color. So I let myself be inspired by the color design of its upcoming counterpart form the Fram Arms Girl line (Frame Arms Girl Gourai by Jun Watanabe). Damn much color needed to cover the dark molds . I really like the Gou-Rais' unique design with its retractable tank tracks and the back mounted big gun. Hm, concerning the gun, take a look at the last pictures. I think it could be a little bit bigger .
  5. @MechTech: Nice little kit. In retrospect I think I was lucky that kits like this one weren't available to me when I was young. I would have spent even more of my pocket money on these. Concerning antennas I always heated up the styrene of the runners and pulled it out. I everything works out fine, the result is great. But mostly you need several runs to get a good result. And afterwards these antennas tend to break easily. On most of my 1/35 tanks which I stored away the antennas have gone . At least you're eyes are not in danger. But with the flag you're on the safe side
  6. Yeah, just ordered the generator kit yesterday And good luck that your insurance will cover everything and you don't have to take a cut in kit building!
  7. Several weeks ago I was in search for a new modeling project and came across Kotobukiyas’ Frame Arms series. So I ordered some kits. The delivery of the two packets from Japan was quick but unfortunately the main packet is stuck in customs even now (almost four weeks) . I received my smaller delivery consisting of the kits for the Blitz Gunner and the Revolving Buster Cannon to support the Frame Arms robots. I had lots of time to build these two kits, but now as they were finished two weeks ago I’m in some sort of modeling deprivation as there is nothing to build any more. At least I took some pictures of my recent work and gave the Buster Cannon in hands of my VF-25A Super. Suits it well I think

Ah, stop posting those pics. Something in my had tells me I should have ordered one more! I only wanted the Kairos for display in Fighter mode but now I fell in love with its look in Battroid mode as well. So hard to wait for dispatch note.
  9. Thanks. I'm still surprised about the result as I kept this kit aside for years and had no intention to build it. But right after applying the white scheme on the orange wings it got me and now I'm a bit angry about myself as I could have done it even better (I have to admit the lower surface did not get as well as the upper one - luckily you don't see the flaws on display ). And in direct comparison I miss the panel lines on the DX. Thinking about adding these on my DXs' too?!
  10. I took to runs of white color (mix of flat and glossy white) on the main fuselage. Orange and blue color I did in a single third run on the prepainted white surfaces. the intakes and engine section are painted in two runs of orange separately as well as the wings. Finally a coat of semi gloss clear for the finish. An advantage of this kit is that its parts fit quite well out of the box and half of the parts of different color of the fuselage could be painted separately.
  11. Final version of my Bandai VF-25 er YF-25 1/100 custom: The white inkjet waterslide decals were easy to handle, too. I'm very satisfied with the result. Now I have also a Valkyrie small enough to sit aside of my bed
  12. I felt exactly the same when preparing the resin parts for my Madcat Battlemech some months ago. While trying to get the parts fit into each other new holes of air bubbles showed up all the time and wanted to be filled up again. Most horrible kit I worked on ever. But in the end the outcome was worth all the dirt and dust. And surely your model will look great and unique!
  13. Here's the reason which forced me to skip the latest VF-31S pre-order run:

Agreed. But the hunt can also be a pain. But I think we love it all, don't we?

That's true, I'm so glad I got my YF-30 at a good price. Right after the price for this one went up really steep.

Ah, that's it. Just forgot about that money thing

Not wrong at all. I want three too, but unfortunately my conscience says no Wait and see how long I can resist.
  18. Good Lord! That's blasphemy. My cars had to leave their display area to make more room for my valks
  19. Wow, still my favourite Squadron marking and one of my favourite Aircrafts. Don't remember how many Jolly Roger F14s I have built. But this ones details are really awesome. Want it too
  20. My 1/100 YF-25 custom is near the finish line. I gave those waterslide decals for inkjet printing a try and after a few adjustments I got satisfying results. The edges of the decals are not completely sharp, but on a little distance they are looking great. I had to cover them with three layers of clear coat and let them dry up to 8 hours. But after this procedure they were water proof and the color did not tend to bleed out any more. Also the decals are very thin and follow the surface. One problem is of course, that the carrier material ist transparent. Luckily the YF-25 has a lot of white areas where decals have to be applied, but the orange and black areas are a problem when the decals itself has a lot of light colors in it. For the N.U.N.S-Logo on the side of the engine inlets and the Test-Team-Logo on the yaw rudder I cut out white areas from remaining decals as background. The Test-Team-Logo does not please me yet, so I ordered some white decal sheets. With these I plan to get the remaining white letters on the black fins, too (Especially the PROPHECY-letters on the inside) .
  21. My latest addition to my Mirage collection has just arrived. She's really heavy with this dress in comparison to her other Banpresto figurines. Has to carry some weight, poor girl!
  22. Ok, completely different decal sheet. Unfortunately these decals won't fit for the YF-25 either. But thanks anyway.
  23. Are these the same Alto custom decals as the Stickers?
  24. As the delivery of my order at CDJ for my next projects will take some time, I decided to start work on my Bandai VF-25F 1/100 kit which I purchased back 2013 right after I got my first DX RVF-25. I did not realize that it had no waterslide decals included, only those horrible stickers, so I left it on the shelf. But today I gave that kit a chance. As fan of the YF-25 livery, I'll gonna paint it in the Prophecy's white-orange pattern. Of course I'll still have the same problem to get N.U.N.S decals as with my repaint of the Alto's Tornado Parts for my YF-25s. Now I ordered some inkjet waterslide decal sheets. At least I give this solution a try. Todays paint job was quite extensive, it consumed lots of masking tape:
