  1. https://www.janes.com/article/83527/us-navy-to-award-large-area-display-contract-for-super-hornets-and-growlers Super Hornets/Growlers are getting larger displays as part of the Block 3 upgrades.
  2. North America is getting a Collectors edition as well, complete with English translated ACES at War.
  3. https://www.dualshockers.com/ace-combat-7-collectors-edition/ Europeans get a special Strangereal Edition of AC7 that comes with a diecast model of the Arsenal Bird drone mothership, patches and ACES at War artbook.
  4. How do the micro missiles acquire/track targets? Are they guided by the VF that launched them, or is there some really really tiny radar unit inside the nose cone of each one?
  5. https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption/comments/9ks3e1/entire_map_of_rdr_to_be_in_red_dead_redemption_2/ Big if true.
  6. Everything about this game seems tailor made for me. October 26 can't come soon enough.
  7. Bit of a bummer the collectors edition doesn't also come with season pass, music player, and F-104 -Avril-
  8. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aknW5GK8Fv8 Some more Mission 7 gameplay. Man, that wind mechanic looks pretty crazy. 4 had 21 and 0 actually had like 37 aircraft, which places 7 (at 32) right in the middle. 5 did have a crazy large roster, although I think Infinity had the largest in the series.
  9. I wouldn't doubt they'd start pushing Macross over in the West if they could. Kawamori has always said he was frustrated with the legal quagmire the franchise faced over here.
  10. Yeah, AC6 was full of DLC. Assault Horizon had a ton of DLC. And given how horrible the Ace Combat Infinity fuel system was (you could only play 3 times ever 24 hours unless you specifically stocked up on fuel by paying for it or winning some in each post-game RNG dice roll), I'm not surprised that AC7 is full of the same nickle and diming. At least the game (minus DLC and preorder bonus aircraft) still has a larger roster of planes than 6 though.
  11. Big news about the preorder and deluxe versions of the game. People who preorder the PS4 version get AC5 bundled with theirs, Xbox 1 owners will get AC6, and all platforms will get the F-4E plus some famous skins from past games.
  12. And then it needs a railgun pod when the drones activate mega-ultra ECM.
  13. https://revengeofthefans.com/2018/09/12/exclusive-see-mavericks-plane-in-these-top-gun-maverick-set-photos/ Some pics of Maverick's F-18. Pretty attractive paint job in my opinion. Just enough color to stand out, but not over the top.
  14. Or an XF8-U3, the uber Crusader.
  15. Yep, its a real shame they don't include some more obscure older aircraft. Previous AC games have had one or two older aircraft, like the Draken, F-5, and A-6, but its usually only been a few. I'm happy that the F-104 is in the game though, its one of my favorite fightes in terms of looks.
  16. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESyiEEAZ3Bw New trailer for the VR mode got uploaded to youtube today.
  17. Sounds like my kinda guy.
  18. The first unmanned aircraft to be a permanent part of a carrier air wing has been picked by the US Navy. https://news.usni.org/2018/08/30/navy-picks-boeing-build-mq-25a-stingray-carrier-based-drone
  19. Some helpful guy on twitter did a partial translation of an interview 4gamer had with Ace Combat brand producer Kazutoki Kono and Ace Combat 7 producer Manabu Shimimoto. Encyclopedia Strangereal also summarized the most recent Famitsu interview with Kono. http://www.encycstra.net/blog/gamescom-2018-famitsu-interview-summary-notes
  20. Quite ugly, to be honest. Never was a fan of digital camo though.

  22. Reminds me of those old usenet posts from the 90's decrying Sailor Moon for foreshadowing the End of Animeā„¢. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
  23. Gameplay from Gamescom 2018. Beware of spoilers regarding Trigger's reason for being a convict, around 10 minutes into the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IsM7IBtVH-Y
  24. Unmanned and manned commercial flight getting one step closer to sharing flight space.
  25. https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/aviation/a22355833/boeing-new-f-15x/ Looks like Boeing is upping the ante, with a planned Eagle variant capable of carrying more than two dozen anti air missiles per aircraft. We're getting pretty close to Macross levels of missile spam.
