Well your excellent work as usual is outstanding. May have to look at getting one, although I havent got anywhere to put it at the mo but I can keep it for a while in a box in the attic. I will be quite interseting to see how this pans out in season 3. There are so many different ways it could go.. One thing I though the aid person (cant remember her name) who helps Roslin before the election, I think shes a Cylon, Therree just somthing about her. I will only break up a Jetfire if it is so totally unrestorable that it wont matter. I would like to work more with boots because they are cheap but over here in England they can command prices aproaching that of a reasonable nearly complete Jetfire. That said I have made several Jetfires from bits bought on eBay. One mans scrap is another mans treasure. My current leg mod is using a $5 bootleg. But dont dispare bootleg lovers he is currently sporting a pair of "spare" Jetfire jegs and a "spare" Jetfire cockpit. Hes loving them and a couple of the other bootlegs are jelous of him. No actual Transformers or VF1`s were harmed or died in my experiments

Well I agree with you Im looking at playing with do ing just that sort of thing at the other end maybe redesigning part of the legs to better allow posability. of cause if I go that far it will no longer be transformable. But as I dont play with them thats no a problem for me. Instead of cutting up your nice shiney Brownie may be you should look for some Jetfires or some of those $5 carded bootlegs on eBay. In the U.S they are very cheap and so common you can aford to get a few with out killing your wallet. Ideal for trying out things. If you go for the incomplete or damaged ones you should get them cheaper. In the U.K they are still expensive for some reason. I alway get them from the U.S even with postage its still better. If your woried about the nose on the Jetfire they are easy to mod into Macross noses. Just add autombile body filler and sand, then add paint. Et voila Macross authentic nose job.

I love both the T.V series and DYRL. nuff said on that. On the flip side though I never paid it any mind that the OVA and Movie versions were different. I now need to add another DVD to my collection. The movie version of Plus. I must have all the versions and now my needs count is up to two again. Oh well (wallet just walked out) never mind.

O.K an update for all of you wanting to know about the bal joints I was mentioning at HLJ. Well I slerged the few poundss to get me some sets. Heres my mini review. They are packaged nicely and on sprews. yoiu get four ball joints per pack. They are dark grey in colour, a similar shade to the hands on the cheap carded bootlegs you can get. removing them from the sprews is easy and there is hardly any cleanup needed (some of mine didnt really need any). once together they are incrediblystiff and at the same time would allow posibility and movement. Unfortunatly the cups are just slightly too big to put in the thighs to make posabilty easy in that area. but they would be awesome for the hips to give a more posable hip. alternatively you could use them to make a Anime true hip joint. There is a slighly smaller size of these ball joints available, maybe if i had bought some of them as well I would be posting pictures of my fully poseable thighs. Anyways here are some pics for you to druel over. As they come from H.L.J And here for a size comparison. Next stop a 1/55 that looks like this a better look can be had at Macross World (Mr Anime)

Heres a picture of what I use they are cheap and very strong. Great for 1/55`s and other customs.

The main thing to remember is that nowadays the viewer demands a much more in depth storyline. Most crime based dramas have at least two sub plots going in each episode, some are ongoing themes or issues others get sorted in an episode. This sort of thing is now normal in most series be they Crime, SciFi or some soapopera. The oposite end of the scale is Lost where there are more sub plots than main story. I still eagerly await the new episodes to be posted so I can download them (you cant get BSG or Lost in the U.K) at least with BSG its on weekly. Im sure the writers will sort out the loose ends sooner. I agree there are certain parts that need to be sorted out. It`s also a shame that the Blackbird was iced. All the U.K readers I know that you can now get BSG on Sky but they are only on the first few episodes of series two. I couldnt wait, so I downloaded them. As soon as they are on DVD its a done deal.

I wouldnt worry too much I take ages to build all my kits. Even if it had two parts and was painted one colour It would still take me ages. As far as the legs are concerned I was looking at a simple way to do just that. One that doesnt involve much or any scratch building. I will of post here if I have any brainwaves.

Great to see one of these kits being built. I have the Max variant of this kit, which im partway through. I though the same as you build it as a Gerwalk fixed pose. The arms and hands bothered me to. I was going to mod them like you have. Aloso I was looking at eaither glueing or leaving out the hinges as well as they just bullk up the kit. This was meant to be a quick diversion from Hasegawa kits but has taken just as long so far. The weather has stopped me painting so far, and seeing you do this has made me just want to get on with it. Damm!!! Should have thought of using Bonsai training wire. I have loads of it in my potting shed and loads more actually on my Bonsai.

Nice job. I too think you should darken the Barrels a bit. But at least it now looks like a Destroid and not a hunk of plastic, pretending to be a Destroid. The museum fresh look is naff. Its always nice too see them custom painted to look like they were used at least once in battle, you know a bit of ingrained dirt some scuffs and knocks and a bit of discolouration. I know that doing this to something that is essentially sold as a toy (an expensive toy) is going towards the modelers area but so what. How many Macross toy collectors over the age of 10 actually play with the toys. Most of the collectors here if they have kids have the kids eaither stay away or give them their own Macross toys to put in the sandpit or play in the bath or whatever they do with toys. I Say Buy em, Paint em, Pose em, Display em. Good work !! I look forward to your next work.

What about the ordianry folk for putting buildings back up and repairing vending machines, that were constantly smashed up by the battles inside the city area on the SDF1, you never heard them complain.
