  1. That’s odd news with the YF-19. Max Factory has a VF-19 battroid coming soon as well. Hopefully Hasegawa has learned a few tricks on this kit. Although judging by the above picture, it doesn’t look like it will be as well articulated as the Max Factory kit
The Max Queadluun Rau was expected, but a definite must buy kit for me. Still hoping for standing pilot figures of the happy couple.

I don't care who streams it... as long as they don't squash the blu ray releases.

Disney has only just begun to finally release a few of its streaming original series on disc.

But Macross is licensed and not a Disney in-house product, so maybe the blu ray distribution agreement is safe.

I doubt that it would even delay plans for the blu ray releases.

Nope ... real. I expect even more Macross stuff from wave now :)

I’m not sure if it’s a big Macross thing since Max is known for doing a bit of everything. As far as wave the big ones like Ma K and Votoms and I’ve seen him work on Macross as well. I’m hoping for more Macross, but I don’t think this news is really gonna be a huge flood of Macross kits from Wave. I’m sure they have stuff they were already thinking of releasing.

I've been wondering the same myself.  I spent a lot of time in local model shops, where most of the stock is used (or rather, "previously-owned") kits.  There are lots of big Tamiya aircraft carriers, Bandai Perfect Grade mobile suits, and similarly large and expensive out-of-production kits, as well as a wide selection of WAVE, Hasegawa, Bandai, Max Factory, and even TomyTec Macross VF-1s.

However, the only 1:20 Valkyries I've ever seen are the ones Amazon shipped to my house.  🤨

I've yet to lay eyes on either of Max Factory's kits at retail, either new or used stock.  They must have been produced in rather limited quantities. 🤔

Other than pro builds I’ve never seen one finished. I was thinking maybe due to size, the average person skipped them due to space. I know I didn’t buy any for that reason, but I still admire the kit. I was kinda pushing things just getting the 1/72 Queadluun Rau kit, but I felt that it was worth keeping some gundams boxed up.

I think microset is just vinegar, anyway. Microsol....not so easy to figure out.

I’ve never checked. I don’t use it because the decal film usually has a glue, possibly starch and it sticks to the model. I’ve never had a waterslide fall off , but have heard of it happening. That could possibly be due to leaving the decal in water for too long, but I’m not really sure on that.

Do you use decal solvent, such as Micro-sol?

I use it , but if it’s a flat surface and there’s no offending bubbles or anything I sometimes skip it. If there are panels under the decals or rounded surfaces, then it’s pretty much required to get them to conform to the surface shape. I’ve never had to use the microset or any other decal setting solutions yet, but I have some handy just in case the need ever arises.

  7. I don’t know about the 1/20 kit happening or not, but I have a feeling things will just be a bit simplified between offerings of the companies. Something more like 1/35 Votoms handled by wave and the larger ones by Max factory or 1/72 MaxFactory battroids for the wave 1/72 fighter kits.
I know the people that bought into the 1/20 Macross kits would love to see a battroid, but I’m curious about how well those sold. I have a feeling that if it happens, it will be in small numbers. But I guess we’ll see how things go over time.

yeah ... the illegible is hard to read, but the katakana here is "sensaadoomu", so sensor dome?

It senses impending doom, so sensadoomu works

yep ... but the turpentine got through it too easily and killed everything. There are also other crazy methods when it comes to decals.
    1. Gloss coat
    2. Apply decals
    3. Gloss coat
    4. Sand decals, and carefully sand off the clear decal carrier foil
    5. Gloss coat again

result: no small edges around the decals.

downpoint: it takes ages, so I am not doing it. haha

I usually do gloss then decal, then gloss and a quick light sand and if it still shows then just brush a little gloss around the offfending edge and usually the leveling will make the edges disappear. It really doesn’t take that much time, maybe an hour. I then put the kit off to the side and try to forget about it for a couple days. Then I do the weathering.

Good knowing that Godzilla is doing great in the box office these past few months. Maybe the STAR WARS and STAR TREK folk will learn from this?? Nah!!! 🤣

They did. That’s how the Obi show started. Lots of idiotic characters no one cares about, stupid plot and hope everyone forgives the bad writing by having big fights here and there. Same basic formula

Maybe check out some of the folk on Etsy or Shapeways. Project V hobbies sells mostly custom gundam parts to places like USA Gundamstore and other anime related websites for hobbies.

What kind of project are you looking for?

I’ve always wanted to build a diorama with a couple brown VF-1As defending a city street with a group of Regults rounding the corner at the other end of the block. I envision having one Battroid crouching in a huge bomb crater in the street with another taking cover at the corner of a building. I never thought the Hasegawa Battroid would have the flexibility to do those poses, but the Plamax model definitely looks like it could. Can’t wait to see them release the -1A.

I’m still waiting to see how much movement the knees and feet get, but I’m hopeful after seeing the shoulder and torso movement.

Yes, this is a very dynamic looking kit . And I'm looking forward to it dropping.
Can't wait to see the dioramas with this one.

I bet there will be a few dioramas. Some where it’s fallen back into a building and some where it’s fallen forward into a Chinese restaurant/ apartment building
