  1. NASA took tons of photos of the moon on the apollo missions and from what i understand their book keeping afterwards wasn't so good. ie: things got lost, were un-documented, filed away and forgotten about.

I also remember hearing that NASA doesn't own originals of most of it's moon images anymore either. so it seems pretty likely this might be real.

Try out http://www.bautforum.com/ in their Questions and Answers section and you'll probably have a lot more luck than on MacrossWorld finding good answers.

if... if they're real do you think you could make a print for me??? ^_^

  2. these are the options i'm seeing right now.

1: they release these mass production guys just like the others and their supply runs out as usual.

2: so many fans buy 9 of these that they decide to sell 9 packs with a discount, like say 100 bucks for 9 of them.

if i assume option 1, i'll be able to get all 9 probably no problem but i think it's going to be close to 200 bucks?

if i assume option 2, i run a very high risk of not getting any..

i think i'm going to just have to go with option1 since i'm so committed to buying a set. and i've also committed to these being the last "collectibles" actionfigures i'm going to buy.

  3. You know what? I know everyone says how horrible the MPC Legioss/Aplha is, but I just got my first one today for real cheap, and aside from the fact that it needs new hands (one was already broken when I bought it) it really is a fun toy. I can see possibly replacing the shoulders with a new joint and trying to make a boll joint for the hips (a much bigger maybe) but I really like it and have been playing with it all afternoon...

Dude, what in the crap, I had the EXACT same experience. Bought it for a friend for xmas since he had an old non-transforming one with a missing arm. Thought he'd get a kick out of a really nice version.

IMHO the Legioss looks best in it's bot mode. Damn it looks tough all posed and ready to rumble. The MPC is nice looking just be VERY careful with it.

  4. personally i thought the voices from robotech sounded pretty good, minus minmay of course. Roy, Hikaru, and Ben (kaki..zaki..ka??): the acting wasn't always so great, but i thought the voices fit the characters. Claudia, Misa and Global were spot on, imho, better than their asian counterparts.

Max i thought at the time sounded fine, but i've come to love his deep manly asian voice and think that fits the character better. Millia in both japanize and robotech was forgetable imho, and the rest of the cast didn't strike me much one way or the other.

so concludes a pointless breakdown of my opinions on the voice acting of macross and robotech.

  5. Look KingNor, I am not a "little kid" that just look for attention. The reason because I haven?t post any picture is simple, I don?t have digital camera or scanner either. I just want to try if it is possible to do. And I guess that the only way to prove it is doing it. If it has to fail, will fail, if it doesn?t better. I don?t want to be rude, but I?ll do it even if you say that it can be done. We?ll see.

I dont' think you've been rude at all. I certainly hope you succeed even if I say it [can't] be done. None of what you said addresses my real statement that this doesn't seem legit, you've made some lofty claims and not backed them up with any real evidence. I don't think I'm wrong to be skeptical at all.

I'm sorry I called you a little kid and/or hurt anyones feelings.

  6. Well, I guess this is where I chime in:

Couple things: First, the YF-19 is DEFINTELY flightworthy. Parasitic drag, yes, but the great thing on a model is you can often get absurd thrust/weight ratios. Granted, it won't be an efficient model, but it will fly.

Second: However, the first comment only applies to the aircraft in fighter mode!

While never one to wantonly discourage crazy plans, a flying, transforming YF-19 is pretty close to cold fusion, on a scale of impossibility. Aside from any consideration of how to automate the transformation process, there is no practical control system on the -19, which would be effective in any sort of hover mode. (GERWALK, or otherwise.)

Furthermore, as has been pointed out, the weight of the actuators required to transform such an aircraft would be quite high, especially since the geometries of many of the joints give little in the way of mechanical advantage. The stresses an aircraft (model or otherwise) experiences in flight can be fairly extreme, and even things as [seemingly] simple as variable-geometry wings (F-14/VF-0/VF-1) can be extremely difficult to get to function on a flying model.

I don't mean to sound like a spoilsport here, but when it comes down to it, the realities of physics pretty much dictate that transforming aircraft have to remain in the realms of animation, at least for the (extremely long) foreseeable future.

    ~Luke

Well, yes, that and the fact that he stated he had the entire leg mechanism working after only a week, and offered zero proof, neither photos or even a rough description of how he'd accomplished this.

Extarodinary claims requuire extraordinary evidence. IMHO this thread stinks of "little kid looking for attention"

  7. i was under the impression David Hayter looks something like snake?

this whole fan casting thing is fun and all, but fans tend to cast based on looks alone.

If you'd never seen xmen, you would never in a million years think hugh jackman for wolverine. who'd think a tall, lanky, kinda dorky looking guy would pull off wolverine.

It's all about the acting and imho, if david can do even slightly competent visual acting to back up his vocals, they should use him.

    ***edit***

yeah, here is a pic of david hayter: IPB Image

a little make up and he could totally pull it off.

  8. VF-1 Valkyrie

    It's simple, it's beautiful, it's original.

As far as the show goes its the least "super robo" of all the VF's in that it tended to only barely be up to the tasks it was presented with.

There is just so much to love about the VF-1. Including the fact that it's one of the few REALLY standard VF's in all of Macross. After SDF you started seeing the old standby prototypes and super duper custom jobs.

Dispite main character paintjobs, the VF-1 was a work horse, the VF of the common man.

    The one and only VALKYRIE.
