  1. Oo, these are pretty cool. Thanks for the pictures, jvmacross. Ugh, I didn't know they were completely static. I might buy them once they hit clearance. Definitely a bit pricey for what they are, especially with supposedly articulated (?) ones coming out... eventually.
  2. I'm tempted to, but haven't heard anything about them. How are they?
  3. Won't be able to build it until summer when school is out! Look forward to seeing what you guys do!
  4. Thank you, I just ordered one!
  5. Dang, I was going to wait until HLJ got it, or at least until I saw some reviews. Guess I shot myself in the foot by waiting.
  6. Ahhh! is HLJ going to carry it?
  7. Yeah, definitely appreciate the sharps warning. Once cut myself transforming a VF-1A v. 2 and realized how sharp these things are!
  8. Hi lazywork, Yeah, I actually have the old weapon sets too! I bought them when I saw they were super cheap online. The arm and leg armor fit perfectly. HOWEVER the backpack is too tight. When I put the two pieces on I really had to push them in, and then as soon as I did I realized that probably cracked the circle joints. Those are the only rings that have cracked so far. Afterwards, I used a hobby knife and shaved everything down so that it's not too tight. I'll definitely do that before I put the packs on for the other figures. I'll take more pictures later today if I can!

  11. Yeah, I have the CF from Series 4 and Max VF-1a from Series 1, and as far as I can, it's a lot better. I'm curious what you think! By the way, here's the Toynami facebook post I mentioned earlier: https://www.facebook.com/Toynami/photos/a.138949412849038.34395.124287344315245/681065631970744/?type=1
  12. Sorry, I meant I want one redone with the newer plastic. I was actually going to just try to get the one from series 2, but since I've played with the new ones and saw the better joints I'm going to hold out. I saw on toynami's facebook page that said toynami might release another set with the max 1j and maybe the regults if the sales of this current set justify it. Thank you so much for your reviews, jenius! I really appreciate the great time and care you've put into them. It is and has been a great resource!
  13. Some pics from toyark! http://news.toyark.com/2015/02/04/robotech-30th-anniversary-vf-1j-rick-hunters-veritech-fighter-149358 http://news.toyark.com/2015/02/05/robotech-30th-anniversary-vf-1a-max-sterlings-veritech-fighter-149440 Yeah, I hope these sell well so that Toynami will make a 1j max.
  14. Jenius, are you going to pick these up to review? We'd love your expert opinion!

  16. I just got my set in the mail today! So far I have opened Hikaru and it's much improved. Design is exactly the same, but the plastic feels like it's of much higher quality. Everything out of the box is tight, and no cracked joints. First impressions are positive. I'll definitely be playing around with it some more, and hopefully it doesn't get loose and the joints don't break. VF-1A Max is a floppy mess from series 1. VF-1A Cannon Fodder is tighter but still needed fixing with glue. So far VF-1J Hikaru is perfect. (Sorry photos aren't great.)
  17. One day your daughters will start shoe collections, and then when you object they're going to say... "But dad... they're art!"

Thank you very much for letting me know! By the way, do you think they'll release like five of them at a time, or one at a time over several months or years? Hopefully they won't hit my bank account all at once!

Hey I have a question as a newbie... will these valks be as hard to acquire as the Bandai VF-19 was, with pre-order madness, or will they actually be easy to acquire? Thank you very much!
  20. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. So just to clarify, I can order this through HLJ or Nippon-Yasan then? Thanks again!
  21. Hey, I have a newbie question... How does one try to place a pre-order on the tamashii site if one does not read Japanese? Thanks in an advance!
  22. Bah, I love them because I can pose them like crazy without worrying about breaking a really expensive toy!
