  1. I think the issue of Macross the first happend only because they wanted to satisfy nostalgic fans in Japan. There is nostalgia even for Japanese people, unlike Manga, a TV show may be different for japanese producers minds, since TV has more audience is here where innovation commandment happens, just imagine to tell Kawamori. "Hey man you have to re-issue your old VF-1 design" instead of telling him "Hey man we want you to create a brand new design for the next Macross TV show so, this time he may take The F-22 raptor as model for the Valk instead of the old F-14 Tomcat...My bet is for a brand new series....
  2. Japanese manners and traditions are really firm they don´t stick with "the old" it´s imperative for them to create, it's well known they always pursue innovation in everything to bring health and fortune, that´s their belief and their way of life you can see it in the development of Macross franchise releasings and their spectacular non Macross anime production , that's why I think a reboot is unlikely to occur and I think you may see Kawamori as one of the greatest representatives of japanese idiosyncracy...
  3. Let´s don´t forget Kawamori once stated: "There are more and better stories to be told" when asked for a sequel of the original Macross..I wish this time he made Megaroad 01 story, however this and a reboot of the original would be a contradiction for him, maybe it would represent the end of the cliffhanger towards the franchise since there are always references of the original series in every single new series they have launched, somehow planned to attract the old fashion fans who have always wanted to know about the original triangle characters destiny. Don´t say you haven't !!!
  4. If the circle is already closed, it will always seem to be based on "rumors" since Macross chronicle Magazine is in Japanese language and has no easy access for the rest of the world fans...A real official canon climax should always be depicted in a TV series or at least in a movie...
  5. Great !! I really think it´s time for Kawamori to tell us about Hikaru, Misa and Minmay fate, I mean "The Mega Road 01 Story"...Just imagine to meet Hikaru & Misa kids, and finally to know if Minmay found her real love after deception, everything happening in a new universe exploration adventures..And what about discovering why the Megaroad 01 cut transmissions when arriving the center of galaxy...please please kawamori close the circle !!!!!
  6. Well.. I still refuse to lose Bandai 1/100 valks...My ultimate argument would be they could be still profitable for Bandai, comparing the real success its line Super Robot Chogokin Mazinger Z & Great Mazinger releases have had, they have been re-releasing them over and over for the last 5 years !!! Mazinger figures somehow belong to the same generation of 80s kids and they have the same nostalgic value for public in North America, Latin America and even Europe that could grant a wide market as SRC success demonstrated. SRC Mazingers are cheap and small scaled that proves there are overseas buyers for tiny scales. Maybe it is still possible, let´s don´t forget Bandai just released a 1/72 scale of Valks, they were unsuccessful, we know it, but maybe Bandai could give a last chance for quality small sized valks before my generation purchasing power extincts..That´s my wish..
  7. Well maybe Bandai doesn´t need an international license to make some money out of hard core Robotech fans, considering the hype 30th anniversary would produce among them, Bandai would only need to re-issue the 1/100 valks or even eatter, to release some new T.V. show 1/100 valks in Japan territory..The rest of the job would be done by fans the way we do with Yamato-Arcadia products contacting online retailers...Would Bandai take advantage??
  8. Maybe there is some chance to have hi metal back..The Robotech 30th anniversary...Recently..Toynami has announced an anniversary re-stock for their 1/100 line..Could Bandai finally turn its eyes to American market to grant any re-issue??? I really hope so...
  9. Well. The question is .What Could we do as fans to make Bandai see the "love" and expectation we all have to get 1/100 Hi metal back in Market?.and..Why not with some improvement?...It´s been a long time, our prayers have not been heard.specially from those who did not have the chance to purchase one..We all love the line, that´s the fact..but Is there a way to make Bandai realize it??..to make it happen would be the gratest proof of fans love..I guess..
  10. Well I think Bandai should use their recent 1/72 kit line molds to upgrade this forgotten 1/100 line or rather use the same 1/72 scale molds to launch a new Valkyrie line, this time not a model kit but a fully pre-built toy capable to reach 3 modes perfect transformation. I have seen images of 1/72 valks details and they are really nice, of course you have to forget the real mess the construction of the model is and the fragile they are at this moment, but if they figure the way to bring them perfectly pre-assembled to market, they would become a real threat for Arcadian Valks. What do you think??
  11. I am really tempted to buy a second hand VF-1 1/100 but considering it would not be both mint and new and also the overprice I am wishing a soon re-issue from Bandai. Does anybody know if a re-issue could happen soon or tell me should I buy now? or maybe I should wait for the re-issue. What is your feeling guys?? Thanks beforehand for your advice...
  12. Well, I would only like they made some improved weathering paint VF-1 Valks, maybe they could make some well detailed battle damaged ones, and of course I wish they could lower their price. From the previous realeases I think Max VF-1A was the best:
  13. Enjoy !!!....http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/yamato/60vt1so/01.html
  14. Hey Wow...I´ve been followings this topic and every single reply confirms me everyone has his own love and addiction story for Valks, the only difference is the intensity, but it´s the same for most of Macross fans...Well I still have hope for getting final satisfaction, but I guess I will only know it till I get the 2 "ladies" I fell in love with, allow me share some image links: http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/yamato/60vf1d/60vf1d.html http://gamu-toys.info/goukin/yamato/60vf1j/01.html I don´t own them yet, I am patiently waiting for Arcadia re-realease, I hope they grant the same grade of perfection (specially the tinted canopy). I must confess there is a strange feeling in the meantime, resembles the one when you are courting a beatiful lady..hoping some day she will be by your side. sounds Crazy doesn´t it?.. Anyway..Have you ever felt the same for a valk ??
  15. Hello Guys..Well, like most of you, I became Macross fan since the 80´s, with Robotech appearing on T.V., since these days I had always dreamed of owning a beautiful Hikaru/RIck VF-1 Valkyrie, My dream came true 2 years ago when I purchased my VF-1S with super parts by Yamato, previously I had seen it on the DYRL movie but now as an adult, and since Yamato toys were/are kind of expensive and I thought I would buy only one, and I also thought it was the "Superior Valkyrie" I chose it. I really love this toy, but recently a feeling of insatisfaction has appeared on me, I feel my inner child has not gotten the valk he really wanted I think that could be the VF-1J or the VF-1D, the ones I watched on Robotech show as a child so, I would like to know if you guys have ever felt like this or if you have finally gotten satisfaction with a particular valk. How was it? .It would be interesting to know your story...
  16. Yep..I tried to pre-order on the last re-issue in 2012, when suddenly they went sold out, then, I knew Yamato was not even able to cover all pre-orders so I also wonder if Yamato-Arcadia really knows fans preferences, if they did, they could sell sweet & easy..
  17. Amazing !!.. I see am not the only one wanting this..Well, if it does not exist..Build it..they say..
  18. Well.. All I want is a re-issue for the VF-1D, this time in a weathered paint version and with articulated Hikaru pilot and Minmay, both capable to depict more accurate "Iconic poses", you know the ones with Hikaru trying to enter the cockpit ant the other with Minmay in the Valk hand...Like this..
  19. Hi there Guys !!! I see some of you say it´s easier to get a VF-1D valk ¿Yamato? nowadays. I'd like to know if you have an example of availability and good price since I´ve been looking for a Yamato one !! PD: I´m a new guy on the MW block, I´m happy to know there is a site to chat many other Macross addicts. Thank you !!!
