  1. With these selling for $30; I'm wondering If the new hi-metal reboot is going to be in the same ballpark. $60-ish for a much better toy might be worthwhile, especially for 1/60 costing in the 150-200 range.
  2. Wow $450 for a used Miria 1-J http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=261744254362 I'm starting to think collecting cars would be cheaper
  3. Another silly thing: my iPad case has a slide out gadget to direct the sound toward the user. I thought this was appropriate:
  4. Holy rapid prototyping! That's just crazy! Whats the quick parts list for a 3 Yamato fighter configuration?
  5. Correct, the parts former 1/60, in my case the super ostrich
  6. Any chance of a Yamato V1 adapter? Also, I checked out your site - I think a section that has a parts list or a "buy this configuration" button would be nice; e.g. A picture of two Yamato v2s and a button that auto fills the cart with the necessary parts.
  7. Yes, pebble steel; you can create anything you want as a watch face. This took about 10 minutes
  8. Correct, this was just the 17s. The price was compareable to HKC. I didn't know they'd sold out; also sold out of the 19k recently.
  9. Yeah, it was about as much from HKC (959 HK$) with shipping. But this was a U.S. seller so it was much faster
  10. Love my 17s, paid 150-ish shipped on eBay. Great example of the peak of Yamato engineering; metal ankles and great articulated hands. Didn't like the ton of stickers at first, but after seeing examples of other schemes, it inspired me to do mine. I'll post it up when I'm done.
  11. Before the pending reboot of the hi-metal line, I was going to grab a few of these. Now I'm not so sure. Though it looks like $30 vs $90 per valk makes it tempting.
  12. Does anyone believe that the "robotech 30th anniversary" re-release of the toynami toys will actually happen? http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=TOY10612&mode=retail
  13. My first hot thread! I'm so proud!
  14. Yeah, definitely a lot of speculation, but it seemed that the author was definately a fan. I just thought it was neat to see an article about macross on a mainstream U.S. Website.
  15. http://www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarder/2014/11/25/bandai-reveals-new-macross-toys-at-super-dimension-chogokin-exhibit/ The author suspects that the big push from Bandai indicates that the world licensing situtation may be changing...

I think healthy competition is good for us... In other news, I for one welcome our new macross overlords!

Thanks for the pic! The reduced cost/size makes it more feasible for me to get a whole team rather than just the hero valks.

A quick check shows a price of 6825 yen for a 1-s with strike parts, so there's an idea of cost. If they can keep the price under $75 then I would definitely get several, especially of the less common variants (Elint/ostrich, etc)
  19. Sorry, I wasn't clear; I mean stores like HLJ or AmiAmi or HKC for macross toys...
  20. Over the last year or so I hear mentions of good discounts on Black Friday. How does it work if the retailers are on the other side of the world? Is it Black Friday their time or ours? Which stores usually have sales, and what is the typical discount or deals that one can expect?
  21. Kinda looks like the zentradi logo upside down:
