  1. Hey, where'd my post from last night go? Anyway, lots of nice subtle details in this game. Take a look at how the VF-1 holds its gunpod when firing now. I'm not sure if the capitol ship models actually are bigger (pretty sure they are), but notice how when you land on one, your Valkyrie shrinks even closer to scale with it. Lots of love in this game.
  2. I've been playing only a bit so far, and a lot of the changes are great, a couple, not so. Firstly, the mecha models are much more detailed. I'm not sure if they're just bigger, or if they added more detail to the already existing ones, but much prettier overall. The capitol ships are indeed much closer to scale in relation to regular sized mecha, another major plus. Gripe #1: WTF, really, no uber bonus for having maxed out Ultimate & Ace saves? Weak. The missile count didn't even carry over like last time. Gripe #2: This one is conditional. For some reason, the target lock options have been removed. You can still switch targets, but moving inbetween big/small targets so far seems impossible. This may be something you have to have a leveled up character to utilize, I'm not sure. Hopefully it's not completely gone, as I love switching between big targets, and say small gun ports. Gripe #3: I still can't figure out why the melee special has been removed, but I can gladly report iti s still present when you hold down triangle. Just what does L+Triangle do now? Any help would be appreciated. I do like how stripped down and slow un-leveled up weaker mecha are so far. They should be slow, it'll make them even more awesome when you spend the time to level them up. All in all, a worthy upgrade so far. Not sure how much loading time the data install saves, but I did it anyway. I just wish they had rewarded long time players more. I do have a question though regarding fast pack experience. Do you have to level up an individual fast pack for all varients of the same fighter? Or just level up fast pack types in general. What I mean is, do all VF-0's have their own Ghost Booster, or does leveling up one Ghost booster apply to all?
  3. Elite? Those were just as bad from what i remember. Try one of the newer slim ones if you get anything. Or better yet, a PS3!
  4. Super Dimension Century Orguss! As for Aquarion, fight through the training episodes, after that, it's a decent Escaflowne rehash. Wanz, watch the Gundam compliation movies, you've no reason not to, they're easily purchased online, go get some. As for 08th MS team, I thought MS IGLOO pulled off what they were trying to do much better. Though my least favorite Gundam OVA is still 0080. And Rogue Tropoer, you are about to have your socks absolutely rocked. Yamato 2 is one of the finest pieces of animation ever. So much epic in that season. The Andromeda alone makes it worth watching. After you finish, take a look at Star Trek III for one of the alltime greatest theft's american cinema has purpetrated upon anime. As for me, I'm currently watching Dirty Pair TV. Took far too long to get this series licensed, but it was worth it.
  5. I know you're not hating on Ghostbusters now. Slimer yeah, that sucked. But "The Real Ghostbusters" was the absolute shite.
  6. Don't feel bad, it just came out Thursday. Hell, my copy hasn't even arrived yet. I'd love to see a more complete Assault Survive sequal too though. It needs to have Destiny units, Wing units, a full Victory campaign, and dare I hope for a Turn-A campaign. They also need to put the freakin' Casval Gundam back in, I have no idea why they'd remove such an awesome MS that's been there since the second game. I'm not sure how they'd pull off the Unicorn properly. I hate how the full mode is limited to under 60 seconds in the Vs games, but i suppose they'd make it an SP based transformation, like the F-91. Or with my luck, an extremely long reloading alt attack, like with the 00 transam attacks.
  7. Been reading a bit of the gamfaq's paranoia, and they're saying the VFX-2 versions of the VF-19A, VF-22, & VF-1J are gone, as well as the M3 Max & Mimlia VF-9's. Though we may have to wait until all of the passwords are out to be sure. Has anyone compared the list of mecha in the gallery with the one in MUF?
  8. 3, don't forget Triangle Frontier.
  9. This episode left a few too many leaps in logic. Why was the dagger important? Why was it any more dangerous than a lightsaber? What was Obi Wan doing during "anything" that was going on? I mean really, he was standing around a lot even for him. Anyway, here's my general prediction for the end of this trilogy. After whatever happens..happens, either all 3 will wake up with ilttle or no memory of it, or only Anakin will have memory of it. There's no way these events could be reported back to the Jedi council without Anakin being put under some kind of major investigation/suspension. Yoda & Mace would almost assuredly see him as too dangerous after all of this.
  10. There's a transforming Macross? I've only seen an ep of Frontier in the theatre so far. I wish they had some kind of international pass system so you could use your u.s. account there. And I like keeping my PSP legit.
  11. Is the movie disc region locked? it'd be awesome if it wasn't, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
  12. Looks like there weren't quite as many mecha/mission additions as I hoped. There is enough here to justify the purchase though. I can't help thinking a looming PS3/NGP (or both) game may have something to do with it. Just picture it, a full blown NGP Macross game, that looks as awesome as the PS3 demo, and has all of the content of the PSP games. Instant buy.
  13. I probably won't have my until monday ish, earlier if I'm lucky. Interesting about teh charged melee going away. Is the charged boost gone too? Given that the charged SP attacks are leftovers from the Gundam Battle series, I can't say they're absolutely necssary in Macross. Maybe they figured that they wanted less flashing, and more raw skill involved. Graham mentioned something about the target lock distance coloring being reversed. I think it was initially that way in Ace Frontier. I do wish they'd use era specific missile lock triangles though. it'd add another cool layer of detail to the series. As for Zomd & Goram, who wouldn't want to shoot them. I mean seriously, that'd be the best mission ever! But we also need Gabigula, Gabil by himself out of a mecha, Sivil outside of a skill special, & Natter Valgo. And damnit, I want Kinryu as a pilot. I "hope" he, Sally, & Miho Miho made the cut.
  14. The ram was disabled the melee sp attack in Battroid/Gerwalk? Or just in fighter. If it's fighter, that was actually disabled in MUF. The reason was so you could use triangle to cut the engines. If it's disabled in Battroid, then you should still be able to do it by holding triangle until you flash. How short is the Macross II campaign? How many story characters are there from II. Are Nexx, Sylvie, Hibiki, Dennis, & Pixie Team present? (oh, and Feff too I guess). Were the launch sequences improved? Have they added the VF-11D? Can the VF-22S use Sound Boosters? Is Valgo the only new Protodevelin/ So many questions.
  15. Hmm, that means they disabled the SP missile burst, is it a fair trade?
  16. Being able to use the fast pack on the VF-11B should also be cool. Does it look like any of your tune points carried over? I have a bad feeling the only thing we got were extra nyan nyan points for the save again. That's the one thing I miss from the Gundam games. Until the last one, it carried over all of your tune points, but wouldn't let you tune past hte limiter until unlocking that feature.
  17. Saw WXIII many years ago. Best think about it was a trailer for Mahoromatic
  18. I wouldn't worry too much about the character leveling thing. Hopefully the limiter on it can be unlocked in the shop.
  19. Finally, Nishizaki's epic "Odin: Starlight Mutiny" has been edited down into a watchable film. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCYsATzakks
  20. I don't think anything official has been said one way or the other. But as it stands, the 2D series does nicely book end the current 3D one.
  21. Mihoshi Mode may be a seperate load all together, can you take some pic's of the menu screens?
  22. Getting into Japanese home is actually really simple. Step 1: download playstation home. Step 2: Sign up for a Japanese Playstation account (see youtube vids). Step 3: Log into your Japanese PSN account and click on the home icon. Now finding all this Frontier stuff however is another matter. Detailed instructions would be awesome.
