Hello, Similar to the Hasegawa list I created, this is my attempt to provide a complete list of all of the 1/72 Macross model kits/accessories whether they be plastic, resin, metal, or decals. I do not want to include items that were not actually released and available to the general public. Really rare limited items are of course included. You'll notice that I did not just "copy and paste" this all together. It is an original list, sorted by manufacturer, alphabetically, with like items grouped, and consistent descriptions used. Hello Gundamhead, If you take a look at the post from "nemesis120" on this page of the thread he discusses the upgrade parts and included a partial picture. I had no idea that they even existed until he posted. Fortunately someone was able to bid via Yahoo Japan on my behalf. They are packed away so I can't take a better picture at this time, but basically you get a full sprue of parts plus some polycaps, and an instruction sheet. Christopher

Hello, Doing a little research in anticipation of a future project. I believe that it was meant to celebrate/commemorate the completion of the 2,500 VF-1 valkyrie off the assembly line, and perhaps the final. I'm sure the Macross Compendium lists the total number of VF-1 valkyries built. I believe VF-1's are built by Stonewell/Bellcom, who is perhaps located in the United States, hence the patriotic red, white and blue color scheme, although the US does not have exclusive rights to that color scheme. The scheme includes a list of sponsor names that are on flow from the tail fins to the legs. The sponsor names appear to be the same as those used on the Minmay Guard Version shown in the link below: Minmay Guard Perhaps the sponsors are companies that have been sub-contracted to provide components used within a valkyrie, such as the engines, avionics and etc. The valkyrie has what looks to be one missile rack on each side, but it appears to be mounted to the underside of the chestplate as opposed to the wing root. That is a completely new place to mount missiles, and weird considering the valkyrie would be for promotional use only. Another new feature is the addition of some type of sensor on the nosecone just forward of the canopy. Does anyone have any idea what it could be in real world terms? Yet another strange feature is what appears to be a drop tank, in the spot where the gunpod would normally be, which further makes the addition of a missile pylon strange. Why would a valkyrie even need a drop tank since they use nuclear power, and all it would do is counteract aerodynamics? The "drop tank" does not appear to be a cylindrical shaped item, because the front has a greater circumference, with the rear being smaller. The front 1/2 is definitely more bulbous in shape. Finally, the paint scheme includes what appear to be re-creations of randomly placed signatures on the nosecone and forward chestplate. The size of the signatures is too large for people to have actually written them directly onto the valkyrie, so they must be reproductions. I am not sure there is any way to find out exactly what the black writing is, but since it is a commemorative valkyrie, the writing is most like the names/signatures of the company that makes the valkyries. Such as the companies president, main designer, or some of the employees that helped build it, sponsors, etc. It's probably similar to what was done with the Spirit of Saint Louis. Hasegawa includes most of the decals needed, as well as a side profile drawing, and an actual photograph of the actual model with the clear red/blue/green VF-1 model kits. Hasegawa does not include the black signature decals, so those will have to be created. Since no one knows what they actually are, perhaps I could just use the names of popular Macross characters. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. The only other person that I know of who created a "2500th" VF-1J was a MW member named DOM, and that was along time ago. He used a 1/60 Yamato, not a Hasegawa, and he sold it on eBay for a good price. Any pictures or links? Sincerely, Christopher

Yes, with certain exceptions, variable valkyries make better toys, and beyond the scope of feasible creations that Rob is considering at this time. A GBP-1 kit from Hasegawa is still possible, I will concede that, but not likely, because they have completely bypassed DYRL and TV Series kits to release Macross Zero. If they were going to do it, I would think we would have heard or seen something by now. As such it should not be written off, because of a slim possibility, which may never come to fruition. If you're worried about a Hasegawa GBP-1, the Thunder Hammers is definitely viable and a better creation in my humble opinion.

Would it possible to substitute the "Thunder Hammers/Hummers" armor in place of the GBP-1? Presuming that the GBP-1 is selected of course. I agree that it's better to go for something that we will likely never see in 1/72 scale, as opposed to something that is already available via a recast or plastic kit. That being said, a 1/72 GBP-1 has already been produced, but it wasn't that great, so: 1.) 1/72 "Thunder Hammer/Hummer" Armor 2.) VF-9 Cutlass w/ gerwalk parts (legs down only) 3.) VF-17 with fastpacks and gerwalk parts (legs down only) 4.) VA-3 Invader w/ gerwalk parts (legs down only) 5.) VF-5000B Star Mirage with Fastpacks and gerwalk parts (legs down only) I know that Bandai released the VF-17, and SHE released the VA-3 and VF-5000B, but none of them were in 1/72 scale or excelled in one mode. I tend to be very competitive and can get lost in the passion of the moment, rather than taking a step back, or a break from the situation. I've had no problems with HLJ. I love the paint scheme shown on the VF-0A, and the rabbit emblems don't bother me too much, I'll probably make one of each.

Bearing in mind that the majority of us are grown men and women on this site, and with the knowledge that the few active moderators we have are pretty busy, I think that is expected and appreciated when we can handle situations like this without bothering them. I think the answer to that question is self evident. If you had made the incorrect assumption first of all, that a signature is political, when in fact it isn't, why would you want to create an entire thread over a misinterpretation? The easiest way to clear up an assumption is by going straight to the source, because the only person who could possibly clarify and correct your misinterpretation, is the source of the confusion. To summarize, you're second question for me is, "Assuming that Christopher's signature is political, why would I want to contact him, after all, I assume that he will just argue with me." Yeah, the thread is moot now I suppose, because I did the easy thing, and probably the right thing by just changing my signature. As long as I've been here, no one needs to preach to me about the "way" MW should operate, but this is not a vacuum. For now on, the starter of this thread should try something simple, and that's the PM. If he had a problem he should have contacted me like a man, and said something. I did the right thing on my own and although I did not agree and changed my signature. It takes a lot of courage and fortitude to acknowledge that you might have accidentally offended someone with an innocent signature, and then voluntarily change it. Although I did not anticipate such a response from such a small group of non-supportive people, I do now recognize that during this politically heightened atmosphere, that the aforementioned individuals have unfortunately taken offense with my innocuous and modest reference. Please read on as I attempt to assuage the fragile egos of the miniscule group who interpreted something completely foreign to the motive of the creator. (Sarcasm aside, the number of those making an issue does not dimish their inherent validity. ) I'm a military veteran and proud of that, and one of my family members served on a swift boat in Vietnam. He's a member of Swift Boat Veterans, which has no political affiliation whatsoever. Not that it matters, but he doesn't support GB. I cannot control what you personally associate with the group, but for me it is nothing more than a non-profit veterans' organization, anything beyond that is purely conjecture and speculation. Argument one way or the other will constitute political debate, which is not allowed. Last time I checked, there is nothing wrong with being pro-veteran. While I'm at it, I also support www.DAV.org (Disabled American Veterans), which I'm a member of. They are also a non-profit group, with a legislative section, but they also have no political association. Let's not forget the American Legion, Military Order of the Purple Heart, and the Veterans' of Foreign Wars. By the way, I do not have a "link" in my thread. I have a combination of letters, which spell something. Try clicking on it, and you won't get anywhere. You would have to copy and paste it into your browser. Let's not argue, but I work for the VA and help hundreds of disabled WWII veterans every year. Just because some movie coined the term, "Band of Brothers" does not mean that WWII veterans associate it with themselves, and immediately become offended by it's use. They are dying by the thousands, and were called the Greatest Generation for a reason. Unless you polled a bunch of WWII veterans, you shouldn't assume that they are offended by something, which I personally know they aren't. A completely innocent reference to a veteran's group has resulted in a waste of a lot of time and energy in my humble opinion. There is a lot more important things to worry about and discuss. People should not assume and make an ass out of themselves. I appreciate the fact that in our society nowadays, there is unfortunately the propensity to offend anyone, just by saying just about anything, no matter how hard you try to be politically correct. In light of the fact that some overly sensitive individuals might miscontrue my signature due to their own preconceived bias, I have changed my signature voluntarily. I'm all about community as validated by my longstanding membership here without any problems or one single comment by a moderator. I fear that one day our society will become that which was foretold by George Orwell.
