  1. Devin, Great job! The decal set looks very nice. I haven't, nor will I buy a 1/60 Yamato GBP, but if I did, I would definitely get a set of your decals. I'm still waiting in vain for Hasegawa to release a 1/72 GBP kit, but that day may never come. Sincerely, Christopher
  2. Hello, Some of old timers will recall, or perhaps would prefer not to, but back in the day, Rosario brought up the same thing, replete with his customary purple font, except he referred to him as scalpers. Back then though, it was the 1/55 valkyrie that was king. It all comes down to a rather simple explanation: A true fan of whatever the subject may be, wants everyone who is interested to share in, participate and have access to all of the same things he does. He doesn't hoard knowledge, rare kits, or brag/gloat about his ownership of the one-of-a-kind collectible that only he has. For him/her it's about sharing the love, not making a buck off his fellow fan. Everyone needs money, but making money by producing items in limited quantity so people fight over them and jack up the price is wrong. It's envitable, and it will continue to happen no matter what we say or do. It all comes down to principle, and it's part of life. Sincerely, Christopher
  3. Sweet, please keep us updated. Don't get discouraged, because you have a ton of parts to paint, but it will be worth it. If you think a PG kit is big, check out my 1/48 GP04G sometime. The 1/48 Yamato only comes to it's crotch, and somehow that seems fitting.
  4. I've been quietly and patiently following this saga from the beginning, and hoping/praying that Toynami would vindicate themselves somewhat after the MPC debacle. Yeah, the feet are a little big, and I don't claim to be an expert on exactly how it should look to be "anime" accurate, but by God, I'm really, really excited about this baby! I used to have one of the 1/55 red versions, and I thought it was better than sliced bread, but that was a long time ago, and now I know it was a "brick" compared to the latest incarnation. I really hope that the July 12 shipping date is correct. My final wish will be for Toynami to make a Beta.
  5. Yes, that is definitely the 1/48 Club M. They didn't call it the "Ultimate" valkyrie for nothing. The Blue Roses Mike did for me has the flaps set up like that. Makes the 1/48 Yamato look like a toy that thousands of other people own.
  6. Check out the fourth set of pictures down from the top. I'm not sure how the crewman standing on the left got into the military, because he appears to have permanent shorting of one leg. He's probably named "Stumpy," or something like that. Now, I'm not one to talk crap, at least not too much anyway, but the paint job on the airbrake behind the canopy is lacking. Drilled out holes would have been better, but at least half of the simulated holes have anything but round black spots. They're kind of all over the place. I'll admit that overall the builder did a very nice job, and the diorama is a nice touch. The panel lines are definitely way over done. I've ordered a kit for myself, and look forward to building it some day.
  7. Interesting... So, I can either spend my money on a small version of a barbie doll with green hair, or purchase a transformable valkyrie. Tough choice. To each their own, but it's really weird seeing grown men buy plastic dolls. Oops, I meant to say, action figures, as if by changing the name, it's suddenly cool Metal_Massacre_79, What you said is pretty funny, but a the same time, really disturbing if you're being serious. If you're buying plastic dolls and hoping you can see up their dress, that's pretty damn sad. For a doll, they are pretty well sculpted.
  8. Magnus, The part you are requesting is listed on the first page. You cannot obtain the gray portion without the white/off white part above it. Furthermore, both halves are glued together, so it's actually just one part. It is commonly referred to as: R-L2 and L-L2 Valkyries have air intakes, not "exhaust vents" located at the top of each leg. Haterist already figured out what you meant, but wanted to help you out for future reference. Thank you for "bearing" with me. So, does that mean your a polar bear or a brown bear?
  9. Understood, edited my posts, it's up to others to follow suit or not. Joking around is one thing, but not when people are anxiously waiting for an update. My apologies. On good point though, is that the forum tells you who posted to the thread last and when, without you even having to click on the thread. If it wasn't "Jesse" or "Rob" who posted, then that probably means there has not been an update. I'll read and not post from this point forward. PS: By the way, it's "here, here" as opposed to "hear, hear."
  10. The box are definitely justifies the admission price in my humble opinion.
  11. Tanmen is definitely talented, but that apparently does not equate to good business sense.
  12. Looks great Jesse! Now if we could only get our hands on a Club M 1/48 VF-22S Fighter! That would be sweet.
  13. Very nice! You can still get the normal Strike version for a lot less, and it also comes with both missile pods, and the VF-1A head I believe. Not really sure what the difference is? Both kits only permit you to make (1) valkyrie if I remember correctly. I wonder if the only change to the decals will be the inclusion of all (4) Skull Squadron variants. The normal Strike comes with Roy, Hikaru and Max, and the normal Super comes with Hikaru, Max and Hayao.
  14. 4869 1/48 YF-23 Black Widow II Definitely sweet, I wouldn't mind having one to put next to the 19 and 21. Club M made a 1/48 22 didn't they? So all we would be missing is the YF/VF-20.
  15. Damn, that's pretty freaking funny!!! I think I just busted a gut laughing at that one, and I ain't bullshitting neither. Hey, I'll have you know, my new replacement word for the "word that shall not be spoken," is: INCONSEQUENTIAL I plan to use it in place of the other banned word, until you guy's get tired of me using it, and then I'll have to resort to something else. Oh well, it pays to own a thesarus. VF-2SS-BloodPhoenix, I wish I could say that his avatar known as "Minmei Giving the Bird" is directed at everyone, but unfortunately, I get the feeling that it's directed at me. It seems like no matter what thread I go to, she's there saying, "Stick it up your arse, ChristopherB!" It's true, we haven't heard anything about the YF-19 resculpt in quite a while. Sincerely, Christopher
  16. EXO, Get it right dude, as much as I've called you one, you should know by now, it's BEOTCH, not freaking biatch! I mean what the hell is that? Forgive my partners in crime, but let me try to answer your question, as opposed to speculating as to what "I" personally want Yamato to make. Currently, Yamato is discussing the: 1/100 VF-0 non-transformable part swapping toy (I don't think many people are "looking forward to this release, so it may not qualify as a reply to your question. ) 1/100 VB-6 Konig Monster 1/60 Max Qrau Yamato Display Stands That's it, noting else that I know of is confirmed to be on the way. Everything else is speculative, and even then, both they could be cancelled at any time by Yamato. Bandai has nothing planned, and Hasegawa has (1) future VF-0 kit pending. Sincerely, Christopher PS: Yes, I intentionally left off your ">" and "<", so there.
  17. A good quality dullcote sprayed over the valkyrie and stickers after they are applied of course, will eliminate any shine, and help them to blend in even more, the surface of the valkyrie will be more realistic, and the valkyrie and decals will be protected from scratches, fingerprints and quite possibly the effects of UV light will be mitigated. Just make sure you cover the cockpit canopy with tape or something similar, otherwise the opacity will be reduced by the dull coat. Another thing I do is take a #2 pencil and very lightly follow the panel lines, prior to applying a dull coat. This is of course presuming you want a valkyrie that appears slightly weathered as opposed to brand new.
  18. Wow, great job! I love the shade of green you used. Looks really nice.
  19. Welcome back Devin! If I remember correctly, the sponsor and logo decals were available via one of the Macross Decal Option Sets, or perhaps one of the clear valkyrie decal sets. Perhaps that is what you are referring to when you mentioned the scan you made. Yes, the one made by DOM using a Yamato 1/60 was absolutely amazing. It did indeed fetch a very good price. Sincerely, Christopher
  20. Neova, Well said my friend! Yes, here at MW we welcome people like "rarityraider" to join and show off their modeling skills. I look forward to seeing all types of models, but especially Macross and Gundam. One of the highlights of my day is coming to the model section and seeing that someone has posted a thread with pictures of model kits. Welcome to MW, and I hope you stick around for a while. Sincerely, Christopher
  21. TheLoneWolf, You can disagree with me, but I think you missed or misunderstood what I was trying to say, which kinda makes it hard for you to not agree if you missed my point. Yes, of course the recent problems in the thread have brought the issue to the forefront, and yes, we have had prior incidents, and unfortunately we will have them again in the future unless people are always vigilant. Perhaps you've done some research, but I'm not sure it happens once a year, but that is inconsequential. What I was implying is that it's easy for us to subscribe the problems to the recent incident and then let our guard down after everything blows over. We need to always be careful at all times, as opposed to being hypervigilant shortly after something bad happens. There is always the potential for this to happen, so we should not let this become situational. Now it's my turn. I disagree with you regarding a pop-up. Everyone, new or not should excercise common sense and not blindly enter into a deal. We already have the straight shooter and deadbeat lists, plus threads like this. If people are going to come here and get screwed over, then most likely they'll get screwed over elsewhere. No one is perfect, including me, but how far does Shawn have to go in an effort to protect people from a privilege and not a right. The sale, trade and wanted threads are an added perk, and creating a pop up seems like an a typical "liberal" solution to protect people from themselves. Caveat Emptor Sincerely, Christopher
  22. Thank you for posting the pictures. I like the step-by-step model building techniques portion.
  23. cobywan, I understand, and like I said, it wasn't personal. Like my momma always said, "If you ain't got nothin nice to say, don't say nothin at all." I for one lack the skill that both of you posses, but regardless, I think that constructive comments from you would be welcome, because you know what it's like to scratchbuild, and it certainly isn't easy. Good luck to you, and I hope you are able to finish your valkyrie at some point. Sincerely, Christopher
  24. I'll figure it out. I've seen a lot of movies in my day, but that one does not ring a bell. One of my favorite lines from a movie is: "Hey, are you all right?" "Yeah...say, that's a nice bike!" (Clue: stars Agent One's favorite politician)
