Same here except that I also have the VF-1J with the nifty stand. I'll be happy with a naked TV and a Strike movie - as long as I stay away from this board and keep telling myself that I don't need GBP-1. I'm not even sure where I'll be putting the Strike. Looks like something in my cabinet will have to go.

I feel for all of you that are planning to continue this line. I've been groggy and a bit off all week following the POpallooza - where I was a loozer. I can already tell I'm going to be worried until the VF-1S and strike packs are delivered into my hands - assuming all goes well and they are indeed delivered.

Got the strike packs ordered. Now to settle in for the long wait until the end of the year.

Maybe the DYRL Max 1A? Although having two Max 1As so close may not be a good idea. Maybe a TV Roy? I don't think they'll do a TV what's him name (last Vermillion guy) this soon after the TV Max 1-A. Maybe they'll throw a curve ball and do his DYRL 1A next. I don't think we'll see Max & Milia 1Js until the Max 1A is out. Or maybe the Max 1A was a more limited run since the 1J is in the queue.

Same here. I only pick up a few items a year so I don't mind an occasional markup if I can't get it otherwise.

The Delta SV-262 adapter works. It's the one that is contoured to accommodate the little flaps that the DX stand adapters have. There is some discussion on this in the Yeti Stand thread.

A couple of questions... 1. When is the Strike Pack supposed to go up for preorder? 2. Has NY every failed to deliver aside from the VF-31A?

I think that strategy may have backfired for the VF-1J. I know a lot of people were planning to wait, but I don't recall if anywhere had them available. Not to mention the stress of waiting and perhaps failing.

Well, I failed getting one at the retail price. I think it may have been the first PO I failed to secure if I was trying when it opened. I would have had Amazon if they shipped to the US. I think I was one click away from being done with HLJ but have no idea if it would have gone through or not. I went back to sleep and picked up one at the 2nd(?) NY markup after I got up. Once I get an order in for the Strike Pack I think I'll be done with Macross. I'm realizing that the VF-1 is the only VF model that I continue to desire to have in my collection year after year and two DX is all I have room for.

The inability to easily buy the new stuff is what put me off Macross collecting the first time around. After I get this and the strike packs I think I should be good for a while.

I'll just be going for one preorder so that everyone has a chance. I'm too old to stay up all night scouring the web for preorders and need to get up early for work. Being old also means I wake up multiple times in the night so I'll probably check-in then and see if I can get lucky. Oh yeah, being old also means I'm grumpy - YOU KIDS GET OFF MY LAWN!

It's not L & R clusters. It's L&R RMS-1s in each cluster. The RMS-1 missiles in the cluster have a side-mount unlike the Yamato's which I believe are top-mount. Without the L & R versions the RMS-1 label would be upside down on one of the missiles in each cluster which would lead to no end to the bellyaching.

Got my missiles today and am quite happy. These are my first Bandai missiles so I don't know if it is norm - the missiles are keyed so that they can only go onto the mounts (the things that hold the missiles in clusters) in one direction. There are three types of RMS missiles - left, right and single. The left and right differ in the direction of the RMS-1 printing (so that it is always upright). Now, I just need a VF-1S Hikaru for the UUM-7 boxes.

Well, I said I wasn't going to get the Hikaru Strike, but my resolve has already worn away. Looks like I'll be there with the rest of you for the PO madness. At least I have the missiles for it.

Looks like a fighter mode stand adapter. Probably necessary since the legs are in a different position.

The VF-1S Hikaru Strike was my favorite for years, but I have to say that the DX VF-1J changed that. I find that I prefer the simplicity of the deco and the angled J head so much so that I'm not feeling a burning need to get this 1S. Hopefully the TV super packs have the kite symbol and are gray since I've grown tired of the DYRL blue over the years. I'll also probably be in for a GPB-1 add-on.

I can confirm that SV-262 adapters work for the VF-1J DX. You do have to torque the bolts since the DX is heavy. I don't think too much of a forward lean will be possible without the DX falling out of the battroid stand adapter. I hope the super parts include a battroid stand adapter that is more stable. Please excuse my pathetic pose and messy desk.

I'm not talking about secondary market at all. I'm talking about the people who are thinking "I'll just get the VF-1S and be done". By pushing the VF-1S down the release order those folks are more likely to finally give in and buy whatever Bandai puts up at the time. Then they'll end up double dipping once that VF-1S comes out. The VF-1S is not a matter of if, but when. The question is will one-and-done crowd be able to wait or will they succumb early. I would have been one-and-done with a VF-1S if it came out first, but there was no way I could have waited. If I had passed on the VF-1J and the VF-1S didn't turn out being next I'd get whatever ended up being #2 since any resolve I had would surely be gone by then given the reviews this has gotten. I'm trying to just keep myself to the VF-1J, but I may very well cave once the VF-1S does come out. And I may end up falling for everything else between now and then.

I think that the VF-1S may be a one-and-done for some people. The longer Bandai waits to release the VF-1S the more those potential buyers resolve will be worn away. Then when the VF-1S comes out they'll still end up getting it since it is the one they wanted in the first place. I think a VF-1A would be a good candidate for the next one.

Ah Jetfire, the one that got me started down this path. Now that the hype on this one has died down I went back to drool over the fast/strike pack pictures again. I hope they release super packs for the VF-1J even though it isn't in the anime. I've never been much of a fan of the GBP, but this valk is so nice that I'll probably want to buy a different outfit to dress him up.

And make sacrifices to multiple deities. I constantly have parts falling off when I try to transform to fighter with the fast packs. The end result is worth the pain (almost). I love the Frontier boosters on the 19.

Are there any English summaries anywhere for all the chapters? The ones from gubabablog were great, but seemed to have stopped with #7.
