  1. The hole at the rear of my gunpod was actually blocked down inside. Probably some mold flash. A quick fix with a pin vise thankfully took care of it. Looking at the pins it seems like there is probably a little nub in the hole to hold the pin. Sounds like a molding problem on yours may have prevented this nub from being big enough.
  2. The only things that stuck out to me when I looked at your photos are 1) that the fins on the legs are all over the place and 2) that it looks like you may have mixed TV and Movie hands. The TV hands are the big round clown looking ones. The Movie hands are the mechanical looking ones. The proper hands for this guy are technically the TV hands, but I prefer the nice articulated hands. If you get the VF-19 Advance set there is a clip available on Shapeways for mounting the boosters alongside the wings in battroid mode. I think it looks much better than the official mounting. - https://www.shapeways.com/product/QE36W94LX/vf-19-boosters-clips?option=63626526&etId=187527872&utm_source=automated-contact&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=payment-received&utm_content=3
  3. I find it unnecessary. My love of the VF-1 design started with Jetfire and seeing the chest and back fold around the nose has always been something I've really liked about the design.
  4. Bandai just can't seem to get the pilot size correct (see prior post).
  5. Just as with plating food displays look more interesting and dynamic with height and stacking. Looks great with the battroid hovering and the gerwalk elevated on a pedestal.
  6. Back when we had signatures I used to track my 'retired fleet'. It was depressing. I've had VF-1s going back to the original Taka. Even had one of the Toynami 1/55ish. I had more Yamato V1s and 1/48s than I care to remember. I had at least one of most all of the Yamato molds going all the way Yamato/Toycom days (except M7). Now I'm trying to keep it to the VF-19 Advance, VF-31F, HMR VT-1 and VF-1J DX. I'm sure I'll fail once the VF-1S pictures come out.
  7. @ChaoticYeti - Looks like the side tabs are 1cm long on the VF-1J DX stands. Is that the same as the SV-262 standing and banking adapters? If so, I plan to put in an order to give it a try.
  8. Quick shot having some fun with portrait mode on the phone.
  9. For me it is the Grail. It is not perfect, but it is what I've wanted in a VF-1 for a very long. I find it more solid (feeling) than a Yamato 1/48 and the arms don't hang low in fighter mode. I was never much of a fan of the 1/60 v2 for various reasons. The HMR line is diverse and fun to play with, but just too small for my aging eyes. Above all it is fun to play with. This guy may remain a permanent fixture on my desk even though it takes up quite a bit of space. Going from fighter to gerwalk is so smooth. Gerwalk to battroid is only hampered by the swing bar clip coming loose. I'll probably try the shrink tubing idea if I can find a piece with a sufficient diameter.
  10. Yes, it seems similar to SV-262 version. Here's the three stand pieces. I wonder if the side tabs are the same length.
  11. Do any of the existing adapters work with the VF-1J DX clear pieces? Looks like they have additional plastic that goes down both sides of the arm for extra support. Kind of like the VF-31 battroid stand, but with longer pieces for the extra support.
  12. Mine finally arrived after 6 calls to DHL to keep it moving. They were planning to hold it until 1/8 since that was their original delivery estimate. I've completed the F->G->B cycle. Very smooth and enjoyable aside from the leg fins that are always getting in the way and moving as a result. I echo the others who have said that this is nice and solid feeling. I like the color. Anyone know which, if any, Yeti Stand adapter (gerwalk & battroid) will work with this?
  13. I hope Bandai never includes the removable nosecone/cockpit feature. I've never liked it or removable head of the Yamato V2.
  14. Still waiting on my DHL delivery. It got delayed 2+ days due to changing the address. I would have it in hand already if Amazon would have let me change the address on their site after the order was placed. I love the VF-1, but I try to keep my collection small so I'm thinking just two. One naked and one strike. Or maybe just go for one and stick with the PF Strike.
  15. Good idea. I was trying to come up with a way to lock the clip without resorting to glue.
  16. Which AT&T Store has these in stock? ^^^
  17. Such a simple thing, but I love that Bandai added the pins to easily attach the strap to the gunpod. Yamato used tiny split rings with PITA hookup points which made it such that the strap wasn't easily removed.
  18. Mine is in the destination city, but DHL still says 1/8. Looks like my request for a delivery address update was ignored.
  19. Same here. Amz says 1/4 and DHL said 1/7 before I updated the address. Now it is 1/8. Hopefully it remains on track for next week since I'll be around.
  20. There has been no real evidence that I am aware of for another release without the stand. Just speculation. I suspect the next variant will not include the stand. I suspect VF-1S TV Roy or DYRL Hikaru. I think the prices will probably drop a bit upon release. Maybe not back to the PO price, but less than the current gouging.
  21. Nowadays? Nowadays? DYRL did have the Minmay shower scene. But, I do agree with you. There is a lot more blatant sexuality and the girls do seem to be getting younger and younger. None of the girls in SDF:M or DYRL were as young as Mao, Ranka, Freya or even what's her name from M7. Delta was over the top with too many anime girls for my taste. Too many characters in general. Thankfully we still have the valkyries to distract from the other short comings. Now where is my VF-1J shipping notice?
  22. I'm beginning to wonder if he swing bar disconnects too easily. If so, I may see about glueing it since I don't want the legs constantly falling off while I'm transforming it.
  23. Looking great! I hope I can redirect this to my home once I get the shipping notice. I don't want to have to wait until after the holiday break to get my hands on it.
  24. How is the sv-262 holding up for people? I'm tempted to get one.
  25. I think it may be a matter of who the item is sold by. I've noticed that things sold or fulfilled by AMZ have the global shipping option. The global priority shipping is really fast once it ships. I'm a bit peeved right now since I ordered a VF-31F yesterday afternoon PST and it still hasn't shipped. Won't let me cancel either since it is preparing for shipping. I suspect that it is now going to prepare until Monday.
