Wow, that is some of the coolest stuff I have seen in a very long time! So many different types of unused mechs! Granted, some of the stuff I'm happy they didn't use, and some of it you can clearly see is work in progress that got us to the finished designs, but it is so great to actually see the steps taken. A Legioss stands 8.75meters tall (according to the RT infopedia) so at 1/18 = 19.138 inches tall or 48.61cm if my math is correct. A Beta stands 13.7 meters tall so it'd be 29.95" or 76.11cm

If memory serves HG wanted to release Yamato (and other manufacturer) products in the US and collect a licensing fee. BW/SN stepped in and said that any company that deals with HG/Tatsunoko will lose the rights to do business in Japan. So, this is the tale of two or more greedy companies, not just one.

Oh I definitely agree, they definitely should have responded to at least let you know their stance on the matter. Customer service should be a fairly simple thing, I did it for a bit back in my dotcom days (although there certainly are an amazingly high number of people in this world who seem to get no greater entertainment than by harrassing customer service reps). Toynami doesn't get off the hook like Yamato does with the whole "We don't speak English" bit. If I were looking at them from a business perspective, I suspect they hire a bunch of CSR mules when they release products and then lay them off after the initial hot streak of sold/returned items. I had all my experience when toys were new releases. Again, not defending the practice.

Toynami considers the Aoshima Legioss an Aoshima product if I'm not mistaken. I imagine if they did contact you they would tell you to contact Aoshima and Aoshima would tell you you're out of luck if you're outside of Japan. I have had MANY interactions with Toynami 'cause I have gotten MANY bum MPCs and Toynami replaced them all quickly for me. From what I understand their service did diminsh though. My MPCs had turn around times from 2 to 5 weeks but I've heard about people waiting much longer for Toynami to issue replacements. I think people were waiting 8 weeks + to get replacement cups for their 1/100 stands. EDIT - Not trying to defend Toynami's stance on the Aoshima here, just letting you know what I think is their reasoning behind not servicing it. As far as I know, the Aoshima Legioss is a Japanese product that is imported to the US by individuals in much the way Yamato products are. This wouldn't be the same as the Mega House product where I imagine Toynami would act as a distributor and thus be on the hook for servicing the item.

Wow, I missed the page where everyone else noticed that the price on these was 3000 Yen. Uh, I REALLY hope something gets revealed that makes me want these things about $12 more each than I currently do or else I'm going to be waiting to see these in the anime store bargain bins.

no, there is no news on a reissue. Seeing as the CF just got released I'd say you've got at least four to six months before you should even ask this question again. That's just my guess though.

Is that English packaging? I see some Japanese writing on it and was under the impression it was just the Japanese box with a Toynami sticker slapped on it.

What I'm eager to hear about is how the landing gears on the Tread are being dealt with. Early pics had them just kind of loitering there... I hope they're at least removeable.

Of course that's all true, and I have no problem with capitalism being brutal, but it just seems like an incredibly inefficient way of doing things. This is already an elitist hobby (we're burning money on toys) and to make it that much less accessible just seems dick. To use that model in a way that benefits random Internet savvy folks in Japan instead of the company producing the toys seems less than ideal. Meh, hopefully it all evens out with some patience and everyone who wants it can get it at a "reasonable" price.

I was incredibly tempted to get the 25th anniversary valks from Kevin but I had money issues at the time. Those issues are now gone and I'd be amongst the first to preorder if this bird becomes available.
