  1. do you remember what time you ordered? i cant remember exactly what time I ordered, but iirc, it was before noon (pst).
  2. Well, I just got the Max today. UPS doesn't deliver on Saturdays, so I'll have to wait on Monday for the Millia. Ordered tuesday (10-21) and got at least the Max today (10-24). Damn! That was fast! Never gotten a UPS delivery that quick. Kudos to Toys-N-Joy for the M&M sale and the fast UPS delivery. Now if only they will lower the prices on their other Macross toys-inventory.
  3. Simple ADV: Large player in market Animeigo: Niche player in market ADV simply has larger market share and links with retailers than Animeigo. Cyc Sometimes I have to wonder if Animeigo was the best choice to have released Macross because of this. Mospeada and Southern Cross are a lot less popular and a lot less recognized then Macross, but yet the DVD sets for those two series have been appearing at a lot more stores (like Best Buy) and at much more economical prices then the Macross DVD sets. Animeigo pushing its Macross DVD's outside of the internet market has been kind of abysmal. This seems to add to the conspiracist theories that Harmony Gold is trying to keep Macross, even the TV series it has rights to, buried from the public. Possibly true. But... Animeigo is/was and still is, the best choice to get the Macross subtitles near-perfect and re-mastered video correctly. They are known for their perfect/near-perfect translations of their catalogue-titles over the years since VHS days. That said and just to reinforced what was already stated before, Animeigo is a known small shop with smaller staffing and smaller pockets to buy shelf-space on retail-stores as compared to ADV Films, Bandai-USA, Funimation, VIZ and Pioneer/Geneon. That's why you normally don't see Animeigo titles on regular retail-stores like Best-Buy. The only other anime-shop that can outdo Animeigo in every aspect is that other small-shop named Synch-Point. SP even beat Animeigo in the friggin delayed-release department. fwiw, I'm hoping/wishing that Synch-Point gets the official DYRL and Macross-Zero r1-license instead of the other shops, including Animeigo. --treatment--
  4. well, they said my Max shipped today and my Millia will be shipped tomorrow. /me crosses fingers.
  5. just an update. Well, my SAL-orders arrived today. Both boxes, too. Finally. The boxes were slightly dinged, with one of the toy's package being affected slightly. Good thing the contents themselves weren't damaged whatsoever. a week of waiting for processing the order plus 15 days to deliver = 22 days to be exact. plus aggravation of not being able to track the shipment. whew! Good thing this ain't x'mas season, yet. Guess some venting helped. or something. --treatment--
  6. Tempting. Thanks for the info. Fwiw, I don't usually trust console-hacks, tho. Legal or otherwise. I just have my bro-in-law stationed over in Japan right now, so I'm guessing it'll be a bit easier to procure stuff from there thru him. I think/hope. --treatment--
  7. Well, that does it. I cannot stand it anymore. I'm buying this game AND a japanese PS2. At the end of this month. I need a standalone R2-player, anyway.
  8. Well, I keep reading and hearing that the live-action version of Great Teacher Onizuka's the best version of GTO, compared to the manga and the anime. But I haven't gotten a copy of it, yet, so I can't verify. Oh, yeah. There's also that Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon stuff. Kawaii japanese cast.
  9. hmm. too many to list at the moment, but there is one i really like to have a live-action version of: [*] Samurai X Rurouni Kenshin's Trust & Betrayal. Provided, of course, the casting and the acting is done correctly and properly.
  10. Considering that it would be an R2 disk, HG would care less. It wouldn't play in a US DVD player that wasn't modified to be regionless. I don't think there are as many modified players as people think. Considering the price will be pretty high to import it, many will just go for the bootlegs or wait for HK to bootleg the new R2 version. fwiw, My dvd-rom player is region-free. It's what I used to play my Region-2 dvds. I didn't have to modify it. My video-card has tv-out, too, in addition to being a dual-monitor unit. Ain't no need for a modified region-free standalone-player for me. Guess I'm a little lucky in that department. --treatment--
  11. I just have to vent. My hlj-orders shipped on Oct-8, according to hlj. It's Oct 22 now. None of my orders have arrived. Worse. There's no friggin tracking anymore on hlj-orders. I'm very very disappointed with HLJ. I thought I had enough faith in them since I've ordered from them almost exclusively for my Macross Toys and all my previous orders arrived promptly. Before they changed their shipping-policy/process. Unless HLJ changes their shipping-policy/process in the near future, I, unfortunately am never gonna order from HLJ again. Even if they have really good sales. *sigh* --treatment--
  12. Well, those two you linked are bad hk-bootlegs. They have wacky english-subtitles. If you're within the US territories, you should get the Animeigo version as it has better english-subs and a better video.
  13. Should be in Games-forum, but... I thought it wasn't official, yet. That being said, I guess we'll see the Char Gamecube-colors here. Not sure if the new Macross-Game will be ported to the gamecube and release here in the States, tho.
  14. CCA: [*] Sazabi [*] Nu 0080: [*] Kampfer [*] NT1 Alex 8th MS-Team: [*] RX-79 (G) [*] Ez-8 [*] Sniper-GM 0083: [*] GP-01 FB Gundam-X [*] GX-9901 [*] Leopard Wing/ Endless Waltz [*] Zero (endless waltz) [*] TallGeese III [*] Nataku [*] Sandrock Kai [*] Heavy Arms Kai [*] Serpent G-Gundam [*] tequila gundam !!!! [*] sailor moon gundam nobel!!!
  15. Yeah. I remember seeing those Perfect Collection vhs in the video-aisles of the old Incredible Universe megastores (now Fry's) and Suncoast in the mid-90's. There were no TV ads or posters or anything, tho. They were just there.
  16. heck, yeah! Akiko was hot. And she's single. And she's comin' onto him. Even without Sivil's manipulation. He oughta have bagged her. Instead of avoiding her. --- You know, come to think of it, Veffidas was a butch-dyke and she's really mostly always with Ray. And most of us are suspicious of Ray's standing now. Interesting.
  17. dude, that is soooooooooooooooo kewl!
  18. hmm. I only got 6 re-issues. two 1A hikaru. two 1S hikaru. two 1A CF. I gave my nephews both the CF and one of the 1A. They put it thru hell and back and it still ain't broken. I think they lost the canopies, tho. I'm gonna be painting one of the 1S into a Blue Max.

    HLJ Crazy Sales

I think it took them a week to send me a confirmation-email. I just dont have the tracking stuff anymore like their old ups-stuff. It's been a week since HLJ said they shipped my orders. Still waiting.
  20. I still luv the 1/60 line. The weight, the die-cast, the class. My 1/60 collection ain't complete, yet. Just no moneys yet for the VT, VE, 1D, and the M&Ms. But they're all pencilled in my x'mas budget. I got the 1/48 Hikaru-1A and am planning to get the whole line. It looks good and all, but it just lacks die-cast content of the 1/60 and the plastic seems a little brittle-cheap. It's fairly lightweight. For that, imho, the price of the 1/48 is just not good enough for me to be rushing to get it, as opposed to when the 1/60's made it's appearances. Wish Yamato can sell 1/48 at the $80-$90 range instead of the current $140 range. --treatment--
  21. Tohrou Furuya? I thought he was Fef. Kinda makes sense since I coulda swore it sounds like Kyosuke (of KOR) vocals on Hibiki. So was it a dual-role for him as Fef and Hibiki?
  22. Dude, like, welcome to MacrossWorld. But, uhh, wrong-forum, man. This is the Toys area. Check the Newbie-thread in Movies and TV forum above this or re-post at the Other Anime forum below this forum where they're some big discussions with regards to the Robotech YF-1R.
  23. Ok. I've been re/watching Macross-II again and kinda got sidetracked on identifying the japanese voice-actor that was playing Hibiki. It's not listed in the Compendium, Animenfo, or ANN-encyclopedia voice-actor entries. Anybody here knows?
  24. waaa nooo no messing with my elf looking babe Veffidas. errr, didnt see any sarcasm-tags on yer post, but... I don't think Veffidas looks quite like an elf. Sybil's the protodevlin elf-babe.
