  1. Did Kira sense Neo or something? He did the newtype ping look without the little spark and noise, and then they cut to a shot of Neo. I might add it was nice to see Zaft get beat up a little, considering they been kicking EA's ass the whole series. But then again it was Kira doing all the ass kicking, not the EA troops.

  2. Also courtesy of Gunota is what could very well be the real 'Nu' Freedom/Freedom mk II.

    freedomcmprsn.jpg

It appears to lose its railguns for 'VSBR' style energy guns on the hips (actually, they look A LOT like Savior's wing/cannon binders 'sawed off'), possibly its shield, and it may or may not lose the cannons (they could very well still be mounted in the wings but just not noticable in that lineart).

If it's packing two VSBRs, it could easily no longer /need/ the plasma cannons as well. It'd lose some of its 'Throw out a barrage from HELL!' ability, but it wouldn't lose much versatility. The forearm gauntlets could possibly be beam shield generators (same speculation as for Destiny's gauntlets), and the red parts could easily be build in beam cannons.

While it's hard to tell from how grainy the lineart is, it appears that the beam sabers still store on the hip armor (the back of the VSBR-ish weapons when they're deployed).

The legs look mostly unchanged, just 'tidied up' with the calves a bit sleeker near the bottom. Waist armor is Impulse-style. The shoulder armor seems sawed off. The torso itself, from what you can make out of it, actually looks very sleek and modern in appearance..

Part of me wonders if Impulse and Freedom get trashed around the same time and they scavange parts from Impulse to repair and upgrade ol' Freedom. They have extra Impulse parts, so it's not like Rey couldn't get the traditional hand-me-down..

Edit: Those VSBRs look like they could actually be dual beam rifles, holstered Gundam Airmaster (Gundam X) style. If that's the case then I /really/ hope it still has its plasma cannons.. It wouldn't be fair for Freedom to get neutered down to only two beam rifles. =\

Boy that looks ugly. How about ep. 22 though? Just watched the raw, and man I feel robbed. I thought Freedom would kick some ass in this ep, but I guess it'll be another week. Shinn needs an ass whooping already. This boo-hoo filler is killing me.

  3. Well SEED Fansubs and Haro^2 released episode 21...however Animekingdom announced they're not persueing in fansubbing anymore Destiny episodes. At this time neither Har^2 or SEED fansubs have decided wether they'll continue or not, but we can only hope.

Question, where might one go to get the torrent for the Haro^2 releases? Up until now, I've been using animesuki, but those days are gone.

  4. Ep. 20-23 previews from MediaWorks.co.jp

    (spoilers, highlight to read)

    Phase 20 - PAST

After EA and ZAFT started the war, the situation of Shinn who lived in the neutral country Orb is revealed. After his family's death because of EA's invasion, Shinn survived alone and moved to PLANT. He reconfirmed his reasons to join ZAFT and fight.  (Flashback episode? No, not recap, flashbacks? Sounds like a talking episode)

    Phase 21 - Wandering Eyes

the FAITH member Haine Westenfluss, who comes to the base with Dullindal, boards Minerva to work together with everyone. On the other hand, Shinn rescues an almost drowned girl near the seashore during his vacation. After they get to the shore, the girl tells Shinn that her name is Stellar. (Wonder what Stellar is doing there...)

Phase 22 - The Sword of Deep Sky

Not happy about the situation of the war in western Eurasia, Djibril makes the Atlantic Federation President to demand Orb to send troops to Suez. Orb and EA decide to work together in the war at the Black Sea. Everyone onboard Minerva gets along well with Haine because of his cheerfulness. Shinn and Athrun are shaken underneath by the news of Orb joining the war. (Sounds like light action 3 weeks, till we get here)

Phase 23 - The Shade of War

The suddenly appeared Freedom disables Minerva's Tannhauser. Cagalli launches in Strike Rouge from Archangel, and orders the Orb troops to stop fighting. A three-way battle breaks out between EA&Orb, Minerva, and Archangel. (Ouch a 3-way battle, My money's on Archangel)

Cool, can't wait for ep 23. 21 and 22 sound kinda boring though, don't really care much for Shinn. You'd think being a trained soldier would hammer some maturity into you, man that guy is such a whiney baby.

  5. Wow, finally saw ep 16. Small observation, Lunamaria took yet another hit. All you Lunamaria fans should brace for her eventual death. She reminds me of Nicol, not quite as good as everyone else. And I bet she'll probably die the same way, jumping in front of blow meant for Shinn (his recklessness will put him in a bad spot). Just my guess, that would help Shinn evolve a little more as well, makes sense.

  6. 30 mobile suits :(. I'm really getting sick of these beatings the Earth forces are always getting. Where is the balance. Sure things got crazy in Wing but at least it got to the point where it was simply machines being destoryed since they weren't being piloted. Its as if the creators and directors of Gundam SEED Destiny have forgotten that there are actually pilots in these things and don't care about the kill ratio. It would be more interesting if there were a few mobile suits on each side, making for interesting battles with each of the pilots getting development so when they die, their deaths meant something and at the same time could show how senseless war is. Its just really silly now.

This is really one of the main problems I had with any and all Macross series and even Robotech. But at least in there, there was a balance. No one side took all the deaths, each battle, a fair share on both sides were killed. In SEED and now Destiny, the Earth forces always seem to die. What's the ratio , something like 50 Earth Alliance soliders or pilots have to die before 1 Zaft pilot has to be killed on screen? Or 100 to 1?

I'll download the episode anyway since, well I'm not paying for it. :) I just wish this would change. Not upset or anything, just annoyed a little at it.

I agree, it's too one-sided. But you figure that just shows how much better coords are to naturals. It's a qualitative/quantitative thing.

  7. Oh, I was looking up on those new Misa, but I notice something new instead.

:o Gundam Arch Enemy - Aile Strike :o When did this popped out,, does anyone have any more info on this?

hm., so the bad one is the Aegis or the Providence

They have a bunch of those at the KB by my house. I think they're on sale for $10 too. They also have the deluxe aile strike for $6 and regular msia for 3 for $10.

  8. Geez !

I'm getting to like the MSIA lineup more and more. How good is the quality, I mean, are they made of cheap waxy plastic ? is there panel lines ? are they tall ? do they get floppy after a while ?

    Please tell me.

Quality is pretty good. They're like 4inches tall, plastic is rubbery (kind of cheap), and for some reason the Seed and Destiny MSIA aren't paneled.

  9. Anyone notice the quality of the animation in ep 13 is kind of crappy? I cant put my finger on it, but the colors, or the movement or something was poorly done, plus certain still images like the back of Freedom at the end looked sort of amateurish as well. And god the hands, I swear looks like a 5 year old drew em.

Storywise though, I enjoyed the old mainstays getting more time. I mean you put in all that time with og Seed, and since another war starts it kinda nullifies any progress that was made. So, wats the point with Minerva when you have an unfinished story with the Archangel crew?

But, it was interesting when they talked about why Shinn was chosen to pilot Impulse and not Rey.

  10. Lunamaria getting the Impulse would be cool. She is my favorite female character in Destiny. However, you just know that as a 2nd tier chracter she will die a tragic death before the end of the series  :( .

    Graham

If so, she can go with the Impulse as Mwu did with the Strike. Rey might go too.

It's actually a tough call. There have to be some fatalities at some point, the question is who is it going to be? For some reason I don't see Kira making it this time for some reason either. In part because he is a 2nd tier right now, while Athrun is as much a main character as Shinn. I also think Stellar will end tragically. I have no idea how on Earth they're going to work in the love angle for her and Shinn.

Kira not making it? That would be pretty weak considering he is Mr. Ultimate Coordinator. But this is anime, not american cinema, so I guess anyone is expendable.

  11. Hey Graham, did you see the MSIA Freedom at that Gundam convention?  Totally forgot to ask.

Nope, they didn't have any of the upcoming 2005 MSiA on display at the HK Gundam Expo :( .

However, there's some new pics of the Freedom MSiA in the new February issue of Hobby Japan. I'll try to get them scanned.

I'm expecting the Freedom MSiA along with the Blue & White Zakus to hit shops here in HK in late January.

    Graham

Here`s the link to the new MSIA :

Awesome, can't wait for these to come out. The advanced MSIA Freedom was just crap for what I paid for it.
