  1. Sorry, wasn't able to write more yesterday, work got in the way :( .

OK, first up the quick review for those with short attention spans :p : -

    • MSiA Chaos = Crap.
    • MSiA Abyss = Excellent.
    • MSiA Gaia = Excellent.

Now for the slightly longer version :D

    MSiA Chaos Gundam

Includes: 1 x Chaos Gundam figure, 2 x beam sabers with detachable hilts, 2 x detachable Mobile Weapons Pods, 1 x beam rifle, 1 x shield, 6 x hands (2 x closed fist, 2 x open hands for holding the shield or beam sabers, 2 x beam rifle hands).

Positives: Attractive box, same style as other Destiny MSiA. Figure has nice sculpt and good paint job. Quite a lot of ABS plastic on this one, including the main body of the Mobile Weapons Pods and the MA mode head cowling. Good articulation (ver.2 knees and elbows). Well articulated waist allows the figure to bend forward (necessary for MA mode). Lots of gimmicks, such as detachable Mobile Weapons Pods which feature opening doors to show missiles and extendable beam weapon barrels. The thrusters on the Mobile Weapons pods are also articulated with a ball joint allowing you to simulate thrust vectoring. The MA head cowling also has a sliding eye sensor to reveal the beam weapon(?) underneath. Beam Saber hilts can be stored on hips. Folding claws on the feet and knees.

Negatives: Very strong (nasty) PVC smell on opening box. Shoulder sockets are not deep enough, resulting in both the left & right arms falling off several times. Balance is a big problem in MA mode. I have not been able to make the figure stand up in MA mode at all yet. Beam rifle and two of the fins on the mobile Weapons Pods suffer from gashapon disease (warping). The ABS head cowling for MA mode does not attach firmly enough and is easily knocked off. The hip sockets for the Beam Saber hilts are not secure enough, meaning it is easy for them to fall out and get lost.

Conclusion: Nice sculpt, but figure is let down by too many parts which fall off too easily and balance problems in MA mode. Definitely one to keep in MS mode, where there is no balance issues.

Saviour is the same way. His canon thingies on his back weighs him down big time. Haven't tryed the fighter looking mode, don't really like the half ass fighter modes on gundams.

  2. Nope. They even acknowledge that Rau's genetics are messed up (the only other known clone in the SEED universe, Prayer Revarie, also suffered from similar genetic problems) and he also takes them numerous times when he they wouldn't be needed for mobile suit piloting.

Where did they mention his genetics got screwed up?

Ah finnaly some info on Prayer. Is he another Ariga clone? What's his background?

If neither the Alliance nor ZAFT knew about the existance of Newtypes then that would mean a geneticaly "normal" person could operate the Gunbarrel and DRAGOON system as long as they were gifted/skilled enough. Meaning:

A: The Alliance got lucky in unknowingly getting all Newtypes for the Mobius Zero squad that Mwu was a part of.

B: You just have to be extreemly gifted/skilled to use those weapon systems.

Mu said something about it in one of the last episodes. Not enough of some chemical starting with a "T", speeding up the aging process or some crap like that.

But there's a pic of Rau without the mask? I wanna see this, anyone have the scan?

  3. ...engaged, and then finds himself getting closer to Luna and then also having to deal with the 2nd Lacus...

I don't see much happening with Luna. With Luna, it's more of a school-girl crush. It's not every day you meet the idol/poster-boy of ZAFT's Special Forces. Fake Lacus....now there's a problem.

Hey, I think Rey's been giving Athrun some looks too.

But seriously, has there been any speculation of Rey being related to Raww in any way? He looks like he's hiding something. I'm not buying the clone speculation either. Maybe a bastard child? Raww might of been pimping it on his days off.

  4. I'm painting a YF-21 to make a max custom. But there's a lot of places that rub, and I wanna be able to transform the thing, not often but a couple times at least. I know clear coats not gonna be good for the parts that really rub, like the shoulder slider. So anyone know a good way to keep the paint on in those high friction areas? Thanks in advance.
