  1. Thanks zeo-mare for the translation.

Thanks Valkyrie, I guess R10 could be an option, but it's on sale at TRU Japan for like $63.00, which is a lot better than $100.00. Even TRU with shipping would be cheaper than R10 before shipping.

edit: I just realized I was writing Rainbow Ten as "RT", which to some sensitive people, could lead to confusion... B))

  2. I was bidding on an item on ebay.  I was out bid in the last few seconds of the auction.  I though ok... no big deal I'll get the next one.  Then just seconds after the auction closes I get this email...

    What has me worried:

    1. The high bidder has had no time to complete the transaction.

No kidding!! This is a common scam, at this point, the seller uses another username to outbid you at the last second (probably bid like $1000 to make sure) to find out what your highest bid is, then immediately sends you a second chance offer to buy at your highest bid amount...

    2. The seller makes this statement in his auction "Also, I am currently not in where I register at, don't negotiate shipping with me even if you think you live closer to me than other bidders."  Why is he hiding his location?

Very fishy, will not disclose his true location...

    3. I've asked this seller questions before and he's always replied through eBay.  I sent him my real email address and asked him to use it yet he still uses the eBay thing.

...or disclose his real email address...

    4. Even this last email if I reply to it I get this email address:  UseTheYellowButton@ebay.com which obviously isn't his.  In fact the yellow botton is the "Buy it now" button.  Again not the one you'd want to use to ask a question and I don't think a real eBay email would make that mistake.

The "Yellow Button" is not the BIN button. When you get an email from eBay saying you have a message from another user, UseTheYellowButton@ebay.com shows up when that ebay user chooses to hide his email address from you, eBay is telling you to use the yellow button in the email to respond since you can't use his email address, cause he's hiding like a thief... see my pic

Your pic does show "BIN" as a yellow button, but it's not a "message" email, it's a "BIN" email, relying to it will send your email to ebay only (member@ebay.com) and not directly to the user, since he choose to hide ihis address from you.

This all looks official to me but the fakes are getting better and better all the time.  What do the rest of you think?  How long has eBay been doing this Second Chance Offer thing if it is real?

    Thanks,

    Carl

Second chance has been around for a while now, but when it's used like this, it's obviously a trick. At least if he waited a few days before sending you the second chance offer, it wouldn't look so fishy.

This is not a fake, but this guy is defenitely trying to scam you, send him to hell and move on. And put DRAMATIKSPOT in the black list.

  3. Are there bidding services available for those outside Hong Kong? like for Yahoo Japan?

Anybody here have an account and would be willing to bid for other members? Just checking... (while were at it, how about Yahoo Japan?)

It sucks so much that I can't make out the language... and my PC displays all Japanese and Chinese text with "?????? ???? ????" (anybody know how to fix that?)

Take this for example... I can make out the dates, time left, and I think it has a starting bid of 50HKD and a BIN of 3500HKD, other than that... <_<

  4. Hi guys,

I wanna build one of Hasegawa's 1/48 F-8E Crusader kits with Shin's markings from Area 88.

I can get a kit like the one above easily, my problem is getting the decals without having to search for, and buy, one of these...

Anybody have a spare sheet lying around??

Actually, I was wondering if Hasegawa ever releases those special edition decals seperately? and if so, did they do it in this case?, and if so, where could I order some? and if not, know anybody else who produces Area 88 decals for the Hase 1/48 F-8E?

I sent an email to HLJ about his too, still waiting for a reply though.

    Cheers,

    Viceland

  5. Don't know if this is a glitch or something in my settings, but in my PM folders, it has not saved any of my SENT messages since after the forum was updated.  I also believe a message I got from Skull Leader yesterday has disappeared from my inbox.

When sending a message, you need to have a checkmark in "Add a copy of this message to my sent items folder" at the bottom option section, don't know if there's a way to make that a default option though...

  6. Is the Musasiya made one you are after? If so, I might be able to help you out  :p

    Andy  :)

jeez, how many do you have of those!!;)

  7. Ok, so we got the series and character names: FireMan a.k.a. Faiyâman a.k.a. MagmaMan (turn your speakers on REAL loud for this...)

These Tokusatsu series monsters are so... huh... WTF???

Oh NO!!! Watch out for that big nasty... mushroom!!! or that albino Stitch!!! (where's Lilo?)

I especially like the giant cello and violin playing Silver Monolith!! nasty...

...And we now know the vehicle is called the, or a, Maringon, Marine Gon or Sea Marine...

Finally, the Bandai logo. According to the link above, Faiyâman aired in 1973, so I deduct Bandai used that logo starting from, or until, the early seventies.

So what's a seventies Bandai kit like this worth??

This guy (scroll down to Bandai) has one for sale for $100, but his prices are generally inflated so I'm not sure he's a good reference. Then I find an old cached eBay page (scroll down to second listing) of a Maringon which sold for $35.

So that's it, all trivia solved, thanks for watching and goodnight!!

  8. I am a Japanese Superhero, What is my name?

    post-2426-1121311472_thumb.jpg

This is an early Bandai logo, during what years did Bandai use this logo?

Here's the kit box cover...

    post-2426-1121311400_thumb.jpg

Thanks for all your help!! :D

This is not in the "Models" section cause it's not a macross related model, it's an "Other Anime or Science Fiction" model...
