I've been sick with a cold again (started at the daycare, wife got it, kid got it, it was only a matter of time before i got it) so i've made only a little progress the last few days but should be up and running some more this weekend, in fact the wife and kid are going away with friends and i get free rein over my time this weekend , i think i can actually see the finish line from here.

Good, then that means the masters should be all done by Sunday evening, early Monday morning correct? That's great news!!! So, while everybody is sending you payment with PP, the molds should all be ready by Monday evening, then it's on to casting 28 kits by Wednesday night, pack & ship everything out on Thursday morning using a "Next Day Noon" courrier service, we should all have our kits in hand by Friday!!! WOOHOO!!!!
Seriously Mike, take it easy, get some rest and recover properly... cause you'll need to get plenty of rest if you're to follow my "roadmap" to the letter, I figure if you stay awake and work on this 24/7 till next Thursday, it can be done NOOOOO problem!!!

The postman just delivered mine. Fantastic! Incredible detail, all those panel lines, just superb. This kit is on a par with the very best professionally made resin kits in my collection and a damn sight better than some of the stuff I've bought in the past.
Many thanks Honneamise.
And if anyone is thinking of getting one the unclaimed models Honneamise mentions in the above post but can't make up their minds, I would recommend going for it, you won't be disappointed.
I second all of that.
I received mine yesterday and I still marvel at the level of detail and craftsmanship of this kit.
Honneamise, You defenitely need to continue making kits like this!!

@Kylwell: how's that "very distressed & rusted out Zaku" coming along?? can't wait to see your technique on the whole model.
I've been wanting to do a rusted-out abandoned Zaku with battle damage, sitting half-slumped in a jungle/rainforest dio, a tree growing thru the body, little tiny monkeys playing around what's become their home for several generations... stuff like that... your technique would be perfect.

huh huh, right ... You get your butt finishing REX (and make mold, and make kits, and make happy MW members!! )... THEN come and highjack Jade's 1/48 recast thread

Hasegawa avoided the whole engineering/design nightmare of the transforming mech by strictly building kits for each of the mech’s three operational modes. In the case of this kit, it is in the “airplane†mode.
I don't recall Hasegawa making a Gerwalk kit...
Nice little article, I guess. Is it their first one on this kit? cause it's basically a repackaged kit and it's been around from how long now?? a bit late in my opinion...
Modeling Madness Macross terminology:
Fighter = Airplane mode
Gerwalk = Chicken mode
Battroid = Man mode
I think we should all adopt this new improved terminology, it just makes more sense. Post it on the main MW page and a sticky should be created in every topic thread.
"Dude!! That YF-19 looks so hot in man mode!!!"
"mmm... man mode Valks are my favorite"

The closest one from me (Ottawa/Gatineau) I know of is John Moscato, a.k.a. Captain_america, he lives in Montreal, 2 hours away. I've had the incredible honour of visiting him and his workshop a few times now, while picking up some garage kits I bought from him. Class act all the way...

I see a hint of blue in the bow... same as the stripes between and on the engines. Defenitely not the same grey as the underside. Maybe it's just my eyes

My girlfriend put up an actual painting in the bathroom of those cherubs like in your avatar... they keep staring at me when Ièm doing my business but their eyes always turn away when I look at them, I hate cherubs.

I know the VF-103 were F-14B's, I wasn't saying I was going to build one using the F-14 that comes in the combo box, although I didn't know it was an F-14A (in the box I mean).
So... you're saying I should get me some 1/48 VF-84 decals, and just use the F-14A that comes with the combo? Is that Hasegawa F-14A kit accurate? What do you recommend in a 1/48 F-14A kit?

You know what? you're right, that whole thing is just too wonky. I mean there's wonky, and then there's wonky, and this just takes it as the wonkiest ever. You won the wonk award Mike, I hope you're proud of yourself!!
Sheesh, what a wonkerer...

This will be a centrepiece for sure.

Ok, I'll be getting one of those combo kits with the help of a well respected MW member.
BTW, if you don't want the F-14 in that pack, there's plenty of F-14 modelers here on MW.I'll think about that, I want to see the kit first. But basically, if and when I do build a F-14, it'll be from Jolly Rogers VF-103.
Be patient, some may be available soon
