  1. ....even an actual mass-production brown VF-1A, since they didn't really include that scheme in the fighter mode instructions.

Especially if it was released with the SDFM VF-1A head.

I think you're right about the likelihood of the GPB-1. I just see Hasegawa's armoured VF-0 and get a little bit envious.

  2. I'm sure this has been said before, but I hope Hasegawa follows up with a VF-1D Battroid soon. Looking at the current Battroid kit, I think they just need one new parts sprue for the chest and back plates, plus the torso (nose) section.

+ 1 on this. Really hoping for the 1D Battroid & the GPB armour. That would prettymuch finish Hasegawa's VF-1 line.

  3. To be fair, for someone who hasn't drawn professionally (not even as a hobby?) before his manga debut, he's done pretty well.

Speaking of his origins, I remember reading somewhere that he got the idea for the story after an incident at a cafe where he worked. If I'm not mistaken, a really large foreigner who didn't speak Japanese physically threatened him or something, and he got the idea of an impossibly strong force that you can neither communicate with or reason with. Is this a true story or just a rumor that some of his fans made up?

Wonder if I have a case for royalties?

  4. I take it this is your first Star Wars movie.

Anyway, the movie was even better after a second viewing. Some of my criticisms upon the first viewing melted away. I love it even more now. I brought my family along for this viewing, and they loved it as well. Except maybe my much younger half brother, who wanted to know where Asoka was.

    Yeah, something like that.

I will re-watch it - I hope the impressions change.

The way the final scene was filmed (that whole scene could've been the start of Ep VIII) was so un-Star Wars that it undid a lot of the build up for me.

  5. You could not have misread or misunderstood Kylo Ren more than you have. That's a shame, as he might be the best character in the new movie. Adam Driver did a brilliant job.

I couldn't disagree more - considering the character's backstory, I'm surprised he looked the way he did. The helmet was pretty ridiculous, too.

Not sure that Mark Hamill had to appear in this episode at all...
