  1. Sorry to hear that. I'm surprised you didn't get a Yamato one. Do you or did you own a chunky monkey? I manhandle my valks so they look fragile but are durable. As for the gunpod, which part is flimsy? The handgrip itself or the rear? Also, is the articulated hand gripping it all the way closed? When set up correctly mine doesn't move at all.

Edit: Sorry, was too slow to type when the above posts popped up.

I actually do own two chunky monkeys!

As far at the 1/60's gunpod goes, yeah. both the handle AND the rear of the gunpod are flimsy as hell.

  2. yeah, i dunno. like I said, i expected it to be more like a toy, and less like a model kit if that makes any sense. It does look great in fighter, i'll give it that.

I had some of the old-school yamato vf-1 releases. I had the 1/48 low vis at one point, but i think i took it out of the box once before i traded it away and dont remember anything about it. This is my first 1/60.

I really like the hi-metal Rs; ill concentrate on those from here on out I guess.

  3. Just out of curiosity, who did you order with? And how was their packaging?

hlj. Standard box in a box surrounded by air pillows.

So as I said before, this is my first arcadia. And I have to say, i'm a little disappointed. It lacks heft, feels fragile. I changed it into battroid and thought i was going to snap everything off. poseability is just OK, the gunpod is flimsy and doesn't sit well in the hands which kind of limits the posing you can do with it. proportions look nice but honestly i care about that the least. i dunno what i expected, really, i just thought maybe.....just a little bit more for the 200+ dollars.

Were the old Yamato v2s better or worse than the current Arcadias? Maybe I should hunt those instead.

  4. My VF-1S seems fine in comparison to other versions. But I consider all Valkyrie transformations pretty fiddly, except maybe the early 1/55 and the toy I had a s a kid that these HMR's remind me of:

    Henkei%20Hik%20small%20371.jpg

Obviously, HMRs are much nicer and a bit more fiddly.

Ha! i had the vf-1s from this line. I forget what they were called, but there was an sdf-1 as well, along with some other mecha from other anime.

  5. Just got my CF in. This is my 2nd hi metal R, the first being the armored vf-1j. I never bothered transforming it. the 1A is the first one ive tried to transform and its....fiddly. Not exactly the smoothest of transformations. Looks great though!

  6. I wasn't being sarcastic. That was a genuine apology. However, most people know that this is the Macross toys section.

I think I'll keep the CF from HLJ in my private warehouse for now. Already have 8 shipped out.

    8 Cannon Fodders? ?????/

  7. I have the old old old Yamato vf-1s v1 from back in 2001 or 2002, along with 3 of the Low-Vis Valks. This is my first yamato/arcadia since then. I figure the VF-1S strike/super is the ultimate vf-1s, so I feel comfortable stopping here for arcadia vf-1's. Everything else i'll pick up in Hi-Metal. Arcadia too pricey.

  8. Hey guys. Last night during all of the HLJ shenanigans with timeouts and page not founds, i tried to buy like 3 times. Well, it looks like I still have ONE of those attempts still sitting in my cart. (one of my prior attempts went through and I got my valk).

I don't know if being "in cart" puts an inventory hold on the item or not, but I'm about to release it immediately after this post posts. So those of you who missed out, see if it comes back up as available.

  9. I hit the eject button. That shipping is more than I wanted to pay - plus I am at my limit as far as space goes anyways.

Id rather have a couple of valks than 1 Monster.
