I agree, SWG did get old really fast. I canceled my account before the free month was up. It was really enjoyable for the first few days but after that, no matter where you went it was the same thing. I can't wait to finally get my hands on FFXI, will need to hit someone up for a worldpass though when that happens. Finals can't come sooner to be honest.  I'm just dreading the long patch time, oh well I'll just make sure that day is a movie day so I'll entertained while I wait.

The patching process did not take nearly as long as some ppl claimed. Sure.... installing the game takes a while, but it took me 25 minutes tops to patch the game, and I have bad internet.

As far as the game goes.... its good alright. Once you learn that walking around with the "form party" option turned on is actually a good idea.... things progress much more smoothly.

I can get you a WP..... and a few other ppl can too, though, Yosho managed to land on my server on his own.... after only a few tries. So its not terribly hard to get to the server you want.

As for me... I'm down for the count. I have no video card, and probably won't have any for another 2 weeks, probably more.

I had it set on the highest settings. I think I just expected too much from the graphics, since the game is what, 2 years old now?

It really does look good... Once I really started paying attention to the graphics, they're really great. There's more details than SWG had in alot of places. Though I still feel everything is a little too "plain" for my tastes. SWG's environments felt more alive, more realistic in that way... But, FFXI has one thing over SWG that makes all the difference... Enjoyability. FFXI doesn't get boring like SWG did. SWG got old... very very fast. FFXI has yet to do that for me.

I bought FFXI the other day.

Yeah, a little late, but supposedly it had just been put out that day... Lucky! (or not... but I won't go into that )

Anyway, coming off my first true MMORPG, SWG, this is quite refreshing. Missions are actually interesting, rather than just run, gun, get paid missions like SWG. Graphics are a touch dated, but still are gorgeous. There's NO LAG!!!! That's the best part!! And there's shops! Not just a global auction system with a 100% player created economy like SWG, FFXI has an NPC economy as well as an auction system with a playerbased economy... Nice! There are mounts already in the game (chocobos) but I have yet to make use of their services. Also, the POL (PlayOnline Viewer) is AWESOME. What a great interface!! Messaging, managing friends, etc. etc. It's a great little tool. You can check to see if your friends are on without logging and loading into the game! Sweet!

Complaints... Well, there's not real much I have to complain about. Loading screens between regions in a city or outdoors is a little frustrating coming off the full open roaming of SWG... Makes it feel like a PS2 game (which really, it is...) and kinda is disappointing. However, the towns are large and feel busy, not empty and awkward like the cities in SWG. Graphics were also a little disappointing, but they're still decent. And the biggest complaint, no server choosing. You are randomly spawned on a server. There's some pros to this (population capping, reduces lag incredably) but there's alot of cons too, since it makes it a pain to play with any friends.

All in all, it's a great game. I'm having fun.

Ya, they blew it on that one, though they did atleast list it as a rumor. Even AICN knew the story was bogus.

The Star Wars movies usually break down into three groups:

"Special Editions"

I am guessing that the guy who reported this to TheForce.net knew enough to refer to them as the "Classic Trilogy", or he wouldn't have contacted them in the first place. Of course, it is VERY possible that the notice they received didn't specify either way. However, you would think that if they were the Special Editions, they would have been listed as so.

I have a MISB 1/48 Low Viz and I am debating opening it and Stickering the hell out of it. My problem now is that apparently the more I read the more it seems this thing is a "hot" item right now. Same damn thing happened with the Bandai Max and Millia and I left them MISB. I would get another but I am not going to pay $170+ as of ebay 12/01/03 when I paid $140 for mine a few months ago. This sucks!

Hi,

I'm planning on building a basic computer 3d model of a VF-1 or a YF-19, was going to do the YF-19 but still a real beginer might go for somethign easier. What I need is a perfect top down digram, a view exactly from the right and a view exactly from the front of the planes. I'm planning on drawing these myselfs to use as refrenecse but if anyone has any pics that matches this description or has any of the toys and can take some photo's from these angle I can then draw and work from this would be a great help to me. I listened to a low quality version of it in MP3 format. It was very very catchy. But of course, the Japanese put a near /INFINITE/ ammount /more/ effort into Cartoon Soundtracks than americans ever could. The best american cartoon soundtrack I've ever heard was Thundercats, and that was.. well.. yah.

Transformers was done 50/50 by American and Japanese companies, wasnt it? At least, thats what I've heard. The way Transformers is presented originally is SEVERELY lacking. In fact.... Its crap. That many commercial breaks, a really retarded sounding opening, and all of that. Its hardly enjoyable to watch. I still like it.. But I think it would be tons better with an actual catchy version of the theme song, and less commercial breaks. I dunno.. its probably just me.. I just think it would be cool.

no. the toys where made in japan. hasbro wanted a sereis to sell them. they HIRed marvel comics to design a story for them. Hence the marvel comics. teh animationw as doen in japan too. the characters, plot etc was all american. In fact it aird in america before it even showed it;s face in japan.

as for th ecomercial breks. the edvd and other sources do not have them. Do no twatch the crap generation 2 edit.

I like the theme song. it;s like arguing tha trobotech had a better theme and les comercial breaks then macross.
