  1. the 1s hikaru seems to be less shoulder cracking injury prone than the 1s roy, so get the hikaru.
  2. oooh, good point. Some of the 1st run broke. Now we're 4 issues in and few if any reports of breakages. So, I guess not broke is not broke. This reeks of BP8, some problems only afflicting a few valks, couple of people moaning about it for years.
  3. oooh, nice.
  4. but not on mine! Oh noes, your theory is ruined!
  5. In general I agree with your post. But given that not everyone's 1s strike broke and even among those that did break the actual breakage was random, some on top, some on the bottom some left and some right. And then given that the later releases have been more or less problem free... I'm not sold on the the idea the problem is 100% design/materials based and not manufacturing based as claimed by yamato. All I know is the the other shoulder on my 1s strike is fine and the shoulders on my 1j are fine. without any real numbers or tests, all we're doing is running speculation based on anecdotal evidence but I can't blame us, after all, it's Yamato's own tainted record that lends credibility to these theories.
  6. bwahahaha. A batt'leth is more likely to decapitate the wielder than anyone else, imo.
  7. oooh oooh, I have ancedotal evidence too!
  8. layered or not, there's no way the stadium featured at the beginning of DYRL could fit in there. I agree with the pocket dimension theory.

dude no offense was meant, like mog said, it's a happy face.
  10. she did just about as well as shin did the first time he tried to fly in GERWALK. Actually, by that mark, Hikaru is much better than Shin, since he could control his valk (first time out) much better and even managed a kill.
  11. both DYRL and SDFM showed that Hikaru (when he was paying attention) had greater situational awareness than did Max. It was Hikaru who actually spots and understands the greater strategy of the enemy forces while max is off doing his thing. In both DYRL and in the show, Max either leaves his wingmen or the primary mission goal in order to go after kills. Max is definitely the better pilot but I think Hikaru is definitely the better commander.
  12. Gravity control is one of those things that just doesn't make sense at all if you try to use a real world understanding of gravity, since it's a function of mass and not some sort of energy field. If the Macross (or whatever ship) were generating a "gravity field" it should be impossible to use that technology anywhere near a planet. If the moon can exert such tremendous influence on the Earth with its weak gravity, imagine what another "earth" would do if suddenly showed up in the upper atmosphere? So either artificial gravity is just that, some sort of energy field that exerts properties similar to that of gravity but not gravity or with artificial gravity comes a way to limit the extent of the gravity well and it's effects. Or, gravity in universes such as in the one that Macross takes place is simply completely different from what we call gravity.

  15. the wife and I have talked about adopting a girl from China, I've floated the minmei balloon but she shot it down.
  16. heh, which were themselves remakes of asian and european movies?
  17. please to tell me, when did they have these "original ideas" you speak of?
  18. seriously, I don't think they'll be wearing the outfits long enough to bother spending lots of time on them...
  19. still my favorite: http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/johnnyscreation.../article?mid=32
  20. It's all the more hilarious when you realize he's right.
  21. shrug, hikaru is the main character, I'm fine with him having the special valk.
  22. what if, instead of grizzled old veterans, they were all young, fresh out of the academy. And all male is boring, have at least one squad member be a hot female lead (it will help if it's obvious that she's never seen a gun before, much less fired one). And the commander is in love with her but is unsure about all the killing. He would like to retire to mexico and fix cars or something. And one of them is a scientist, not even a commando and he hates war too so he's always trying to get them to not kill the predator. And the predator isn't an alien, it's an angry indigenous person trying to save the rainforest from evil american imperialism. Because the commandos are going to blow up his home village to make way for an oil pipeline and he needs to race home to cure his sick wife with a special flower that grows in the amazon and the wife also just gave birth. And they're trapped in a pit and it's raining. Raining poisonous frogs. genetically engineered poisonous frogs. And the climax is fought in a big cave, where the Predator (it's his title given to him by the wise and blind village elder) smears mud on himself to disguise himself from the commando's night vision technology (technology bad, traditional good) and he uses the venom from giant spiders (that he fought and killed in act II) to defeat the commandos. But at the end, the commandos are actually winning, when commander and hot commando have a crisis of faith and turn on their comrades (evil) and save the predator. The film can end with the predator saving his sick wife and new born baby, (with the wife being hawt now) she holds the baby while he holds her and she looks up and smiles and they both look up into the blue sky and then we pan down from the blue sky to a beach house in mexico, a trendy CW band playing on a radio, commander is now AWOL and fixing cars (yes, on the beach) then some beautiful legs appear in front of the camera walking towards commander, shot of beautiful swaying ass, oh look, it's the hot commando she ran away with him! the end.
  23. don't like the figure but like the art -> someone wants a high res of the art -> someone would like the high res art for a sticker for a custom konig -> someone would rather bandai just make one instead of having to make a custom -> someone agrees.
  24. I'd love for bandai to tackle the 1/100 konig as well. I'm terribly disappointed in yamato's offering.
