I came back to Cyberpunk last wekk,  a copule years after the orginal relase...

So much better than I remember, and the DLC its awesome too

I'm looking forward to going back to Night City real soon, my buddy says it has improved greatly since I last played.  Armored Core has been taking a lot of my dwindling gaming time though.

I completely agree. Although I think I’d be far more excited if they looked like the old Nintendo version

Yep, that would be cool too.

I think Yamaguchi will sculpt this new figure into a huge upgrade over the NECA version, although that figure wasn't too bad in its own right.  And while I would've preferred Rachel as a companion figure, Ayane will work also. ^_^

Hey guys I could use some help....I recently bought a Nintendo Gamecube at a con for cheap...dude told me it's been tested and works so I'm gonna hold him to his word on that as I don't have the proper connections to check. But I went to do a little cleaning on it....noticed it was really scuffed up bad when I got it under better lighting conditions, popped the top cd cover and saw some grime, cleaned it up with a swab and iso. I thought, "Maybe I should crack it open..." grabbed my special tool, opened it up, and was greeted to the worst sight of debris I've ever come across. When I bought a dreamcast last month and looked it over, it was in really good shape, the only problem was the GD-ROM was trash....that was it!
This is a different story.....I mean even dirty and hair was crammed into really tight areas I couldn't believe! The cooling fan was caked, the air filters on the other side were clogged, it's terrible.

I'm trying to convince myself, if I take this thing completely apart and do a really good cleaning on it, it'll be "better"....I know for sure the internals will be fine, but the housing is just in such poor shape. Even if I scrub it in soapy water, or do a peroxide treatment on the front panel, it's gonna have so much nasty gouging and scuffing  and scraping that it doesn't feel like it'll do much good.

So what are my options? I'm looking around online all I find are transparent shells and I don't want that at all....and the last project I worked on was replacing a GBASP shell and the guy had ripped me off so I'm cautious on how to go with. I'd really like something either Black which was what it originally was, Indigo, Silver or Orange.

Go for a legit retro look:il_794xN.2548718686_6h74.jpg.0acdefcf2361c2e68ecda5c14a126c25.jpg

Maybe scout the local goodwill for a junker Gamcube with a decent shell?  I found a decent looking Dreamcast there once.

I've also seen 3D printed shells.

I built this beauty last night, and what a great LEGO experience it offers. It's chock full of ingenious techniques and solutions that make the build all the more enjoyable, and the instructions often feature blurbs regarding said techniques or new parts (i.e. a new cone for the nose & tail and the sloped windscreen for the droop snoop, both created specifically for this model, but hopefully will see their ways into other sets). I can't remember ever building a set where so much behind-the-scenes info is given in the instructions, but I hope it becomes a regular practice. The landing gear functionality is smooth and bears the weight of the deceptively light model easily. This is not a small model, but with so many of its 2083 pieces allocated to that long thin fuselage and large thin delta wings, it feels lighter, albeit a bit awkward, to handle. However, the designers created a lovely stand that mirrors those used on many collector grade aircraft models down to a printed 4x8 inverted tile (83496) (first I'd seen this part) reflecting an official looking placard detailing some of the aircraft's history and performance characteristics. Beyond the placard, there are a number of printed elements in the set; no stickers to bog down the build. The total package looks professional, classy, and visually striking. The model itself features moving flaps and elevons, a double rudder, retractable gear, the famous droop snoop, and a 6 x 16 section of fuselage that's removable to expose some detailed interior featuring seats and a couple lavs. Even as a long-time builder of both MOCs and sets, I was struck by the many challenges imposed by trying to recreate this smooth, sleek, curvy aircraft into a LEGO replica, which itself is daunting before including the many working features, especially the mechanics involved in making the gear extend and retract with a single mechanism (rotating the tail cone). Kudos indeed to the design team for pulling it off so majestically. In every conceivable way, this set is a triumph, and I can't recommend it enough.

I hope this set meets with great sales success and ushers in a wave of other notable aircraft. I'd personally love to see some X-Planes, like the Grumman X-29 or the Bell XV-15, or the Bell X-15 get sets. True, they were military, or military funded aircraft, but I think the distinction between research aircraft and combat aircraft is clear in these cases thus clearing them of LEGO's pesky, and somewhat murky, no-modern-warfare restrictions. If research and development aircraft can be realized as LEGO sets, the potential is there for many a great set celebrating historical achievements in aviation.

Speaking on the two new parts, I'm guessing aircraft enthusiasts, especially those building jets, will welcome the new cone piece. It's 4 studs wide at the base, three bricks high, and tapers to a three-stud diameter. The second new piece is the windscreen for the Concorde's droop snoop. It has a 4 x 4 footprint and tapers from about a brick to two bricks high (rough measurement). The most outstanding feature of this part is that it is dual molded, a thin white plastic shell over an internal clear dark tinted windscreen. I wish this methodology found its way into more windscreens, as LEGO often opts to paint them, and the paint apps are often too thin and allow for notable bleed through of the base plastic. Fortunately, LEGO lived up to Ole Kirk's 'only the best is good enough' motto with the development of this piece. I'm not sure the windscreen will have as much utility outside of this set, such is its particular nature, but I'm glad they made it all the same, as it definitely makes the Concorde model look great.

Nice pics, it looks quite majestic just straight out of the box.  If ever an enterprising 3rd party company made custom printed pieces and/or decals for British Airways or even the BOAC prototype liveries, I just may have to grab another Concorde kit.

  5. Wow, City Connection is hitting all the right buttons for me right now.  Back in the early 80's, I, as a wee arcade rat, got to play the side-scroller Aeroboto (Formation Z) and loved it because you get to pilot a transforming jet, and this was right around the same time Robotech was on the air.  Well a remake is now planned for next year:

  6. Speaking of old school mecha gameplay, I never would have guessed this game would get released again:

It's going to be part of City Connection's tribute to select Saturn games.  This one is gonna be a treat for me since I only heard about the game in import gaming magazine ads back in the day and never got to play it.  It's going to be on Steam next year and even if doesn't have subtitles, I'm buying it.

They are 3.75" figures no? That is a bummer. I would have bought a 6" Captain Commando for my MvC2 shelf.

Yep, Cap was a mainstay in my team during the MvsC days, and a Marvel Legends sized figure of him would be grand.  My guess as to why this lineup is that tall is maybe they want to keep them in scale with some level boss toys in the future? Or maybe toys of those bipedal mechs the team uses as mounts?

  8. I never thought this guy would ever have a toy made of him:

52TOYS is making one of the Captain himself, as well as the rest of the gang, so of course, I preordered them all:

I would wish for a larger scale, but beggars can't be choosers when it comes to merchandise of forgotten beat 'em up games.  This only gives me hope that 52TOYS will venture into Strider Hiryu territory.

  9. Legendary Hollywood model builder Greg Jein died last year at the age of 76, and now the huge treasure trove of models and memorabilia he amassed is going to be auctioned off.  I think the headlining piece will be the large scale Red Leader X-Wing model used during the filming of Star Wars' trench run with an opening bid of 400K USD:

His collection is astounding from works ranging from Buck Rogers, V, and even Ultraman.  The items are well beyond my pay grade, but I think most of MW would have just as much fun as I did browsing through the listings.

I clicked on the thumbnail for this item, thinking it was a Tribble :D
