yeah these look real neat!  If the Truck Ironhide turns into is real, what about the Helicopter?  This is the only thing I have found so far, a Hellhound from Patlabor with the landing gear on the wingtips and tail like the new Blackout.  I am not very familiar with helicopters in general so perhaps one of you has a better idea.

It a completely fictional design, but there may be hints of a Tiger Eurocopter gunship in there:

Yeah seriously.  I'm one of the suckers who got burned on the 1/18 Airwolf shenanigans a few years back, and am desperate to get one.

That was an absolute cluster.  I hope other backers find their way towards Ramen Toys' Airwolf.

That does look nice! I'm interested to know the ratio of printed parts to stickers.

I was curious about that too, and here's what the sticker sheet includes:

Everything else (lights, door handles, and manufacturer symbols) are printed.

Great effort on Mattel's part for this kit: there's a thick, well illustrated instruction book with a history lesson on the car, a metal plaque that can double as a keychain, and the bonus Hot Wheels toy looks slick.  The options of building a left or right hand drive NSX along with matching manufacturer symbols are nice touches:20250916_105645.jpg.67d0312f23eee670d1c40bdb0891ecee.jpg

Mattel could do better with the brick pieces themselves, however.  The red bricks are simply aren't as lustrous and deeply colored as Lego pieces.  Just a minor niggle, nothing to make me stop looking forward to future kits especially with Mattel renewing their partnership with Ferrari.

Just bringing this back up because I got curious about the scale of this thing, and it's apparently (relatively) TINY.

    ~17cm tall versus even the Kotobukiya 1/100 kit's ~22cm.

Sure it's still about the size of a MG/MB/GFFMC/etc. Gundam, but at nearly 4x the cost of that kit, I would have wanted it to be at least the same size. Hopefully for you who buy it, all the bells and whistles makes up for it.

Yeah, if it was larger I'd get one.  It doesn't even have any figures of Liquid or Grey Fox (R.I.P.)  to establish scale.

I might pick that up, I got a rg sinanju unbuilt and that might give me the motivation to finally dig it out and slap it together

I'm in the same boat.  My backlog of unbuilt kits is so old that I haven't gotten to build my Sinanju.

I'm surprised there's no available aftermarket metal frame available for the Sinanju yet.  I bought one for RG Nu just as a trial, and it worked out quite well.

  6. This is the kind of product I wish more companies would make:

It's a set of replacement joints from 107 Toys to make the RG Sinanju kit sturdier.  IIRC that kit used waist joints from the smaller Gundam Mk.II, resulting in a Sinanju that cannot support its own backpack and torso weight.  Now if 107 Toys can aim their creative guns at the self-exploding RG Zeta Gundam kit...

OMG yea, this and a Metal Gear Ray is what’s missing from my "important mecha from my childhood” collection. :o

I was so mad that I missed the ThreeA Half Sized versions.

Apparently it is already on display (and looks super tiny):

I guess after seeing the Back to the Future train I was expecting something bigger, but this is nice too.

There's always Cobi if you need something cheaper. They're a great display piece if remove the pilots.

I haven't kept up with the Cobi catalogue lately, that Phantom looks cool.  My boys and I had fun building their Concorde and Huey kits so I'll probably get their Phantom too.

  9. It's not just you, BM's prices are generally expensive for me too.  I only buy a set from them if it's an aircraft I truly desire in Lego form.  From previous postings of BM's owner, the bulk of the cost comes from manufacturer lincensing costs and custom printing prices.

This new Atom brick line is a little better on the wallet.  If a F-14 kit is made for it, I might bite.
